Monique thank you for a wonderful video. I haven’t made these stamps but will now! It was wonderful to meet you and spend time at your studio. I love that it is outside. Please let me know if you are near Atlanta because I would love to talk more. Kent

These are a great idea! mine have all been carved in the past, i will give these a go. i have made a clay roll like a mini rolling pin with carved ocean design in it to repeat a pattern. i think this would work well. even throw a tube and slip the design onto it, to then roll over a slab. you've got me thinking!! thanks Monique
Monique, this is brilliant! I'm going to give it a try. I think I could do this without using my left arm since I'm not supposed to right now. Such a great idea!
Hello...great video..I love your location too, the chickens in the background..reminds me of when l lived in Cyprus...where are you? Look forward to learning lots from you. Thank you.
Make slip with vinegar instead of water. It wets without puffing the clay up, therefore no cracking away from the slab. Run a soft fine brush, barely damp, over the points that stick up from the slip trail ends.
Thank you for your feedback. I don't see why I would do that, my slip hardley ever cracks away from the slab and it doesn't puff up. I also do not have these points from the trail ends because my slip is the right constistency. So I don't see the need to add vinegar. I will try it sometime to explore if there is a difference. I will let you know okay? Thanks!
Love your videos and they are very informative. Love your comphy wardrobe. Question: can I use kiln clay like air dry clay? I don’t have a kiln, but I like to work with air dry clay. Just paint them.
Thank you Kay! Sorry, no. Clay for ceramics/pottery needs to be fired to high temperatures for the clay to transform into 'stone'. Maybe you can look for a ceramic store or artist that can fire for you. Much of my comphy wardrobe is also homemade. Comphy and airy is important in the Caribbean. 😀

Love this idea, Just dont have a kiln yet and no where within 3hrs of me to rent one. Ugh... saving for one day
@@sweetwaterwatkins4648 I had the same problem on the island I live, in the end it worked out for me so keep the faith!
Slowly but surely, everything will fall into place. At least that's always the hope. Lol
Excellent idea. Where do you get your pretty images from to draw please? I haven’t found any as nice and ornate as yours
Thanks! Some images I draw myself, others with a little help from pinterest lol

Thank you for answering my question. Living in the Caribbean sounds wonderful. I live in rainy old Seattle. Not much sun.
@@KayRyder-fd6cw well, you can always move....I used to live in cold and rainy Netherlands. 😄😉
Where did you buy the tips? Thnxs
@@charitab4580 i've had these for more then 12 years so no clue. Sorry
The metal tips, where do you get them?
I've had them for years and years, I don't remember. I know Xiem tools has similar tips.
why not sand them down when they are dry to level them out?
Guten Morgen mein Herz, einen wunderschönen, kreativen Tag wünsche ich Dir
Moin moin meine Liebe!
einen wundershonen tag und ne dicken knutsch! 🥰
Less work to carve a drawing, stoke it and eventually reverse....You'll have 2 stamps: a positive and a negative...
Thanks for chiming in! That is also a good way to do it!
But you get a more fluid line with the slip!
Roosters in the background, so annoying. Lol
why not sand them down when they are dry to level them out?
That is a possibility, however that would flatten the trailed slip and I prefer it rounded. Just preference.
