    I just got one for $5k at 97k miles and it was in really good shape, only problem was a small leak near the spark plugs. It's not that fast but it loves to rev, I'm pretty happy with it.

    Just got a 08 with 117K miles for $3600. No issues that I felt at all I just never drive one before. I really needed a car and it was very clean out and in. AC works but not the heater , nothing lit up in the dash and no leaks that I see. I hope it keeps up with me

    The Jetta is simply a great vehicle... Insightful information on the 2009 VW Jetta.

    I leased my 3rd Jetta 7 months ago.
    And usually it is Atypical of me to keep using the same product over and over again. But These are great cars. When i First bought my 2003 Jetta 1.8 Turbo, I fell in love with it. It was fun and very fast. My second one was 2005 2.5 Jetta which i leased. And finally I've leased my 2009 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. this is the one with the 2.0 Turbo Red salsa color. This definitely the best one overall. It's super powerful and the overall drive. I'd recommend it

    What's the values gonna be of these now that VW diesel gate is going on?

    • @281CubicInchesOfFreedom
      @281CubicInchesOfFreedom 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Freddy Medina I'm not sure. The diesel emissions scandals effect the newer diesels. These older ones should be okay, if that's what you're asking.

    I love the styling of the big circular headlights on this generation but I just hear they can be expensive to fix so I settled on a 2009 Honda Civic. I love my Civic and had it a year now but this gen is still very attractive to me.

      Not if you get the base 2.5, but anything with a turbo is going to be costly for upkeep. My 2009 2.5 manual has 160k and 0 non maintenance/normal upkeep. 1 wheel bearing, one map sensor,, just replaced the brakes all round and rear springs. Have done all maintenance on my own. Rockauto and TH-cam have saved me 1000s of $$$.

      +Syed Alam I have a 2010 Jetta sedan SE with 51k miles. In the early life of it around 45k I had to get the ECU remapped, due to the gas not bringing enough gas to the engine. Luckily for me the dealer covered the parts and software free of charge. Other than that It is a true champ at 27MPG city and 32 Highway. If i had a decision to purchase a new VW, I would steer away from the 2.5L 5CYL & stick with a 2.0T/1.8T/1.4T (modern versions)

    hey - if you buy one go for the 2.0t model. it has one less cylinder and WAY better gas mileage. i can get 35 on the highway, and it goes 130 miles per hour. get the six speed manual aswell- the DSG is alright, but the 6 speed makes it feel like a go kart. its a great car. and with the right tires, can go anywhere you can.

    Love my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, over paid for additional warranty. But was told that it will be worth it. I am currently looking for a new car, but every car I have driven does not compare to my Jetta. I will have to pay over 30k to get a similar or better car that I will enjoy.

    @toyota420xp Nope it will soon be sold in Germany the 2011 model will be the first one to come to Germanys markets this video was uploaded sometime 2008 that time Jetta wasn't sold in Germany.
    Plus the version sold in Germany is a different more expensive version then the one in th US,

  • @krunkindian1
    @krunkindian1 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    what makes it so inexpensive, is that it is assembled in Mexico. Thats a good deal for a German car.

    Dude what are you talking bout...?
    You are missing the most important variable of the equation, THE PRICE. Do you know how much is to maintain that Mecedes over aperiod of 5 years?
    And do you know that most of the Japanece cars in the same class with the Mercedes are 5-10K $ cheaper.
    With the Mercedes you pay 60K $ to buy it, 20-30K $ to maintain it, so after 5 years you end up paying 80-90K $ for it.
    The same with Lexus, will cost you lile 50-60K $ for 5 years, 20-30K $ less .

    How is Nissan Skyline the best? Just tell me, HOW? It's not just about the speed, it's about driving experience and that's where it fails. It is basically a Porsche 911 turbo with better weight distribution, because they put the engine to the front of the car.
    Secondly, I still think cars from Europe are better. For example, Mercedes E-class 250 - power like a V6, torque like a V8, but it's only a 4cyl, and it gets 44 MPG, that's just incredible. What Japanese car can compete with that?

    The only reason why Mercedes is Expensive is because they want to make more profit from their cars! Mercedes was top of the line brand like 10-15 years ago... since everything has changed!
    I recommend you to test drive a Lexus, Acura or Infiniti... you'll see what I'm talking about!

    @cody7445 I suppose some of the idiots wouldn't know what to do if the accelerator was stuck on but yes it is common knowledge to do something/ turn off the engine, put in neutral, etc and that is what most people would do. The problem is that they don't have enough time to react.

    Dude you have some prototypes in you mind! the world doesn't work that way. The American cars ware the best in the 50's and 60's then came the Europeans (mostly German manufacturers) and their cars took the lead...
    It was that way till the end of 90's. For the last 10 years Japanese dominate the Market....
    Tell me which is the biggest car manufacturer in the world, TOYOTA !!!
    Mercedes, BMW and VW have dropped the quality of their cars since 2000. They ware the best, but not any more...
