Another great video. I notice you have not taken the stripes over the Flaps. The colour callout shows the stripes over the whole of the wing. I am just about to do this with mine - is there a reason you did not cover them?
My research found a couple of photos of Gannets landing and the stripes clearly didn’t extend onto the flap upper surfaces. I guess this is because they retracted under the wing and couldn’t be seen.
I am enjoying this build very much. As always Cartograph decals look fantastic and in my opinion are the best to be found anywhere. I do have one question, do happen to know the reason for the underside wing numbers are one way and the starboard numbers "upside down"? I tried doing a search but found nothing.
I suppose the numbers were reversed so that they could be read more easily whatever the orientation of the aircraft. The only explanation I can think of.
Steve, excellently work as always. Your videos are very well done and extremely informative. I have been following you through several builds now since your last video of the Bismarck, #38 I believe in which you said you were going to do a final video after the rigging was done and you had been to Telford. I have been looking forward to seeing this video. Did I somehow miss it or did you decide not to do it as I cannot find another episode after #38?
The builds are looking great, two kits at once you certainly ard a beave man, looking forward to the next update, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia
@@TheModelShed Yes it is Steve. The only issue is with the wing - the top and bottom sections need fettling to fit properly otherwise you can get a slight downward bend towards the tip. I've finished mine as a 1970's Gatow Station Flight Berlin aircraft, which was used for photographic spying by BRIXMIS operators. The most unlikely of Cold War spy planes!
Looks brilliant the decals and stencil make it pop lovely. How do you find the lp-9 clear I tried it other day 50/50 with levelling thinner on a test piece and it went like a milky white on it
Superb work Steve .... patience clearly a key element!
Thanks Richard yes with all these stencils on 2 airframes it takes a while but worth it I think 🤔

Sorry Steve I originally watched the video on my phone. Have just watched again on my laptop and realise the flaps are missing!
As you said Roger 👍

thanks I agree but it’s still a bit of a chore 😬😬😬
Beautiful work as usual! Always enjoy the progress! Looking forward to the next update!!

Thanks Greg I still haven’t done those bits and pieces. I will though - just there’s no rush just yet.

They are coming along nicely Steve, I love it when a decal goes down without a problem, nice work and well done.
Cheers John
Really like the color choices!
Decals do look good.
Thanks Paul
I’ve just applied the decals on a 1/48 Airfix Chipmunk and they really are excellent
I have that kit as well Phil is it a decent kit to put together?
