I'll say it again Steve, you have the patience of Job! Italeri has proven once again that they know how to produce beasts! I would have put that thing back in the box multiple times! I guess I'm spoiled with Hasegawa, Tamiya, and Eduard engineering. Absolutely beautiful work as usual though! I have one of Italeri's 1/48th Tornados, you have given me some food for thought on that one. Eagerly awaiting the next update!
Ive done the 1/48 Italeri, it did indeed end up on the shelf of doom for a long while. I ended up forcing myself to finish it, and it does look nice when complete, but yeah expect to put in the work :)
Having had a look around, including the tornadosig site, it looks like the FOD covers are a soft material, which might be hard to model. The Tonka is still building up well enough.
The Tornado had interesting intake FOD covers - the main one had a strap which linked it with a smaller one on the bleed vent further back on the top of the A/C. I’ve seen models with them fitted but they tend to cover too much of the airframe unlike the plug type FOD covers.
Wow what a project. Amazing attention to detail and great patience in making a silk purse out of a …
Patience is essential with this one David but hopefully I’m breaking its back now. Intakes finished today.
Steve, I physically winced when you cut the engines into pieces!😂 it’s starting to shape up nicely.
😬😂
Amazing work Steve!
Thank you for putting these videos out.
I truly look forward to them.
Nice to know Joseph thank you
Fantastic…! 🙂👋
Thanks 👍
Plastic strip and angle saves the day..a fair bit of thinking ahead save the day on this one...great job there
Thanks I hope it strengthens the build

Every now and again I do one of these (like the special hobby Tempest last year) but I have to do a couple of top line kits for relief
Amazing job good to see you modelling again 🍺👍💞🙏💪
Thanks Eddy
Super stuff as always Mr Steve. This is coming along nicely.
Thank you David

@ 🤘🤘🤘
Coming along nicely Steve
Cheers Chris

Nice work again Steve, why can't the mould makers work out something to put ejector pins on surfaces that aren't seen when the parts are assembled?
sometimes they just can’t I suppose John but in this case they certainly could have been avoided
Excellent work pal certainly not a Tamiya kit is it ?😂
It most certainly is not - unfortunately 😬😔
The panel line detail looks really heavy on this kit.
It is but I think I’ve managed to reduce the effect a bit
