@@diddymouse816 get a jeweler's loupe and look at the green mana symbol on the back. you'll be able to see a "red L" made of 4-5 red dots. this will prove it is real as wizard's printers are the only ones that do this. the card printers all do a sequence of colored sprays in the form of small dots and do it so many times that it ends up becoming an image. the surefire way is the red L.

I've been waiting to see what cards he was the illustrator for and he did Plateau! He's an awesome guy. That was 6-8 years ago but I just googled to see if he was still at the college and it appears so.

oh man, i had a Revised "Taiga" in my first starter pack as a kid. my older cousin traded it against crappy cards, and not only the Taiga. but as a kid i just wanted beefy creatures like Ernham Djinn and so on.. however, i still have bulk of magic cards ( revised, 4th, ice age, fallen empires, homelands, alliance) but im too lazy to look up the prize.
I have a couch at home that costs the same as some of those cards but I'm able to touch it and sit on it. And I rather play with my cards than lock them up in a safe.

The cards will be fine, a flexible plastic case like that is not going to shatter on a light impact to the back. He's taking them out because to be able to tell a genuine card from a fake card you need to be able to actual see the card without the glare from two plastic coverings and be able to feel the actual card to see if it's the right thickness and texture. When you handle something regularly, you know when something feels wrong.
