    Buying Used Yamaha Stryker 1300 on Craigslist: Test Ride, Impressions, Mini Review, Cobra Exhaust
    Today on Jon's Moto Garage we're checking out a used 2013 Yamaha Stryker 1300 Chopper. This was a craigslist (or offerup) find. It's been a long time since I had one of these in the garage. I've always been a fan and knew the day would come when we picked one up again. This one comes equipped with an aftermarket Cobra exhaust (sounds great). Stay tuned as I take the bike for an initial test ride and share my thoughts, impressions, and review on the Yamaha Stryker!

    Hi Jon, well it's 2023 and you're selling all your bikes. I just got back into riding as a 25 year re-entry rider three weeks ago with a Honda Shadow Spirit 750. It was great around town, but over 40 mph I felt like I was going 70. I had been looking a Stryker, but thought that was WAY too big for a newbie, which it could be. I took a risk and after owning the Honda for a mere two weeks, I decided to trade it in for a used 2014 Yamaha Stryker 1300, and it was the best decision I made. I LOVE this bike. It doesn't move in the wind at all !!!

    I've just decided to buy a cruiser! because of loss of licence with speeding... on sport bikes I want something fun to ride without wanting to die at each corner (although I love street/sport bikes) and the Stryker has fkn striked me gold. I love it! Can't wait to get one! First off, set of pipes and an ecu flash... then pcV and air filter + tune. Then 30-tooth front sprocket and 240 rear tire!
    YESSS what an AWESOME REVIEW loved the video!!!!

Im a bang for the buck type guy, and harley does not come close. Going with an 07 stratoliner 1900cc for 5 grand, sometimes less, with extras already added. How much do you have to pay to get a 1900cc equivalent from harley again...20 grand?

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ooooh, good question! Personally, I've never ridden the breakout, but I'd love to get my hands on one! I think as a taller guy at your height, that a bigger bike like the breakout (engine and wheelbase), would fit you better long term than something like the stryker. I'm not sure on the breakout specs off the top of my head. I know the engine will be the larger 103ci/1690cc (or bigger if you get the cvo). And if you're mostly carving canyons and don't plan on doing cross country trips, I think the breakout fits the bill. Of course you'll want to sit on a few and go for a ride if possible to see how it feels. Let me know if you end up getting one! That'd be awesome! Thanks for watching and commenting! Ride safe!

    Love the bike man, I just picked up a Stryker about a month ago and it's making a whining noise from the crankcase, some people have told me it's normal, but others have told me it's not. Do you have any input? You've had a couple of these at this point I believe. It follows the RPM, doesn't matter if the clutch is pulled or not, slightly louder when the bike is cold. I just changed the oil to Lucas 20W-50 full synthetic, with Lucas Motorcycle oil stabilizer and it still makes the same noise. Looking for any advice I can at this point. I can post a link to a video with the sound

    Hey man, how do u compare the Stryker with the Honda Fury?

    • @JonsMotoGarage
      @JonsMotoGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I had both bikes in the garage to bring you guys a true side by side look of the two. I may still do a video showing clips of both bikes and discussing some of the basic differences. There are a few ways to look at comparisons: reliability, performance, comfort, and lastly personal preference/style. Probably a few other things you can consider as well. I don't get into the real nitty gritty differences. I always recommend doing research regarding reliability on any bike you decide to buy so you can draw your own conclusion (I think both are going to be about the same as long as you do basic maintenance and don't thrash em). Performance is also one where you either need to ride the two and see which you prefer, or you can look at the objective data (hp, torque, 0-60,etc.) and decide that way. I think both are close enough that it won't make huge difference. And the same goes for comfort. Every individual is a bit different. So, ultimately, if you get a chance to ride each, I would decide based on your personal preference. Sorry, that's a real round about way of getting at it. Lol. But based on my experience, I would go with the one that you like after looking at the big picture (all of the above). Thanks for watching and subscribing! Stay tuned for a comparison vid at some point!
