Everything I used will be in the description plus a link to Type of Beautiful's video. Thank you for watching

Thanks for the demo, but to me it makes no sense at all to start at the top when you have long hair. All these things can be done starting at the bottom without having your front section in your face the whole time, but that’s just me 😊

Thanks for watching! Yes, it can be done that way but then it would just be upright styling. I can't speak for @typeofbeautiful on this, but I think this method is suppose to mimic upside-down styling while being able to section the hair (to prevent weird parts/cowlicks). Tbh I thought this method would be harder than what it was lol it definitely looks a little odd on camera 😂

You are beautiful, and if you could do some make up looks, that’d be awesome. I have super curly tight ringlets from ears forward and looser curls in the back . This looks like a great compromise.

Thank you! 🥰 this method was quite a bit of work but it was fun to test! In terms of uniformity, I'd have to say the bowl method gives the best results (if you're okay with styling upside down).
As for makeup, I'm not sure if anyone should see my makeup routine 😅😂 I feel like idk what I'm doing most of the time hahaha

I saw her do that demo and Swavy Curly Courtney and another blogger also. It looks like so much work, but everyone whom I have seen do it, including you had really nice results! Your hair looks great! She used UFD. I have been using that and I really like it. I don't know if you have tried it, but it is one of my favs! Thanks for the demo. Maybe...I will try that technique one of these days.
It looks like way too much work

Yea I watched both of their videos too! Courtney's hair had so much volume. It is more work and time, but surprisingly not as much as I was expecting. I think I will save this for special occasions. My scalp/part shows easily in the back so this method corrected that issue.

I noticed significant hair loss after doing this method for a while! I noticed it before but I chalked it up to not washing as often.
I've since added a sulfate back in once a week and don't add anything to my roots and voila, same amount of washing and waaay less hair fall

Yea I've definitely heard the hair loss stories from doing this method 😬 but I've been doing cg-type stuff for years before ever even hearing about it (ie washing less, cowashing, etc) and my hair thrived. I think my issue was stress and vitamin deficiency. But I'm with you on the clarifying! I've been doing that more due to all the products I test/use (plus I brought back some silicones lol) and my scalp is a lot happier

Your curls turned out great! I'll try this out on my next wash day. I think it would be helpful to those who can't style their hair upside down due to neck/spine problems too.
Could you consider making a video on how you refresh your hair?

Thank you! Yea it's challenging for me to wash and style completely upside-down. I get headaches easily doing that, and I don't want to risk my health for more volume LOL this method takes some practice and time, but surprisingly wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.
I'll try to film a refresh soon! So far, that has been the bane of my curly girl journey XD but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it!

Lovely curls. I think your hair goes straighter at the back because of the way you section it, because it's pulling it straight.
