  • The Denman brush is a popular product for wavy and curly hair types, but is it necessary in order to get great wash day results?

    I, Tiff ✋, solemnly swear not to over-use products lol you heard it first.
    Also, while editing this video I came to realize that last week's outcome wasn't as bad as I had initially thought. It just boils down to perception and how you're feeling that day I guess 🤷‍♀️ many factors come into play on how you view yourself, and sometimes you think you look horrible when in fact, to others, you look great. Learning to not be so critical on yourself is a long journey okay stepping off my soapbox now byeeee 😂💜

    Thank you for sharing how you style. I never thought to style in horizontal sections before. I have fine hair, i did this last night when i washed my hair and i feel like i have more volume and the curls are better formed.

    I love your energy!! 😊 I think your hair looks a little more defined this week :) have you watched manes by mell? She has a video on how to use the denman brush to get better definition. I've tried it 3 times now and it works so well! I think it could help you too :) 💛

      Thank you! I think the wash now, style later method helps with definion. Idk how it must be some form of magic haha but I noticed that those who tried this method had more definition too. And yes I love watching Mell! Her videos are so helpful ☺️

    Love the video! Can you please tell me where you got your bonnet for plopping? I've never seen one like that before the ones on amazon are usually bigger.

      Thank you! The purple one? I'm pretty sure I bought it at Marshall's for maybe $3 ☺️

    Regarding the ribbon analogy for the denman, that concerns me because I feel like that works on a ribbon because it damages the fibers, so then is the denman damaging our hair? I bought one when I first saw Mel recommend but then gave up cuz I didn’t notice a big difference / thought it made my hair look worse. I think the no denman side looks better on both your trials.
    I used to always damp style but recently I started doing soaking wet styling and notice significantly more clumping

      That's a good question. I don't think it's damaging as long as you provide enough slip to the hair, but I'm not a professional. However, any form of manipulation can potentially cause damage even if that damage is small. And tbh I think the no Denman side looked better as well! I wasn't expecting that lol and I like both damp and wet styling, but it really just depends on my mood and what I need out of that wash day. Wet styling for the win when you need clumps 🙌☺️

    I'm having so much trouble figuring out how to use my denman brush. 😭 Wavy, fine, low density thin hair. It keeps getting stuck and trying to rip my hair out. Any tips? Also, I also go in heavy handed 😬. What do you do if you accidentally put way, way too much product in?

    • @tiffanymcnerlin157
      @tiffanymcnerlin157  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! If I accidentally use too much product, and my hair is still wet/damp, I would just lightly rinse my hair to get some product out. Some people will wash their hair again, but I'm a little too lazy for that lol with the Denman, if my hair isn't wet enough/doesn't have enough slip then it will pull. So I like to use a product with great slip (leave-in, cream, etc), make sure my hair is wet, and then also make sure my Denman is wet. Brushing in smaller sections has been helpful too! ☺️
