I always tell people when you paint you should plan to err on the side of lighter, even too light, because you will almost never be playing under light as bright as what you paint under.
This was GLORIOUS. Laughed along with you guys the whole way through - as always Jay is a joy in the narrative/skirmish games. Ash + Jay + Gorkamorka is peak gamer viewing. Such an amazing flashback to my late teens, thanks guys. Can't wait for the next one! Make it a long campaign eh? 😉
Epic game lads! 2 rules to remember: 1. when shooting at the closest target you may always choose to shoot a vehicle instead of a trooper even if it is further away cos it is big, 2. When you wish to turn when moving under thrusters, you may only attempt to turn after a whole thrust move in a straight line (you can choose to move 1-6 inches or 5 for a trak) has been completed, your driver must then pass a leadership test to turn otherwise they will shoot directly forward d6" and movement ends. It makes those long country drives even riskier and more chaotic!
5:33 - For those of you who don't know, the original Gorkamorka orks didn't use traditional round slottabases. They were on narrow, kidney-bean shaped bases so that you could squeeze as many orks onto your trukks/trax as possible, but of course those bases wouldn't work with the bigger modern ork models they're using. 6:09 - TURNY-GUBBINZ!! 26:16 - So something seemed off to me about here, so I got out my copy of Da Roolz (it was somewhere I could get to easily) and I discovered that there was not one but two things you guys were missing about using Da Big Red Button. Secondarily, a boost only gives you D6" of movement, not 6" (What are you, White Scars?), but the main thing was that when you try to turn while boosting (one pivot at the end of your boost distance), you have to make a leadership check to avoid spinning out.
Apparently, when GW first released this game, the CEO of the company was walking around the company offices chanting “GorkaMorka, GorkaMorka, GorkaMorka …”
Never one I owned as a kid, but my mate had it. Loads of fun was had with this. Especially the rolling road mission - Da Chase? Loved it. As I am such a big fan of back-in-the-day Necromunda, I still love Gorkamorka! GET STUCK IN LADZ! IT'S KRUMPIN TIME!!!

Such a great video! I never got into Gorkamorka way back when but always wanted to. This is one of the sort of forgotten GW games that I would like to get some kind of refresh. I look forward to the future episodes.
I played this game when it was released, I absolutely loved it, it was so great to play a game with so much freedom and so much emphisises on just having fun, probably one of the most balanced games GW ever made with everyone having the access to the same stuff.
You guys are so much fun to watch. The jokes, crazy references, and fun you have playing games makes each video a pleasure. I don't care what you play, just keep playing games together!
Gorkamorka was one of those games I always wanted to play. I missed out on getting it when it came out originally, and I have always regretted that. One day I'll throw together some orks and buggies and get a chance.
I've had the best luck with Gorka mobs as the combat skills seemed to be much more useful, although some of the driving skills are great, they tend to be really situational. When the newer Ork vehicles were releases, I was hoping that GW would re-release it, but alas. Once you get to Mektown, getting frag stickbombs with either the range or damage increases can be bananas, but the random toof cost can be pricey. Nothing said good time like my boss riding in a sidecar on a bike along with a Mek driver and a (sacrificial) yoof meat-shield (repurposed a Space Marine attack bike).
Missed it, when it was released 😒 But with Yaktribe I might give it a try. Seems like a really nice, contained game. Some boys, some vehicles and let chaos reign!
Loved the amount of fun you had, reminds me of a screamer killer/ genestealer incursion into our necromunda hive narrative but I'd upgraded to a missile launcher on my van Saar heavy. The square base Tyranid didn't last long, it's a shame a few gangers got taken out from the scatter
Shame that GW didn’t see the benefit of this game, but Gorkamorka was about personal customisation and GW only likes it if people buy their stuff and then don’t alter it, I have had so much fun with this game and it’s frantic action, especially when going for a Thruster and not rolling a 🎲 😮 😂😂😂

The Dukez' truk should have been called Da' General Daisy. In keeping with the theme and all. Also these names imply that there is another faction led by a certain, Mek Boss Hogg and his boyz Rosco, Enos, and Cletus, along with Rosco's pet squig, Flash.
Before I went ahead with it I had to check what that nickname was based on back on Dukes Of Hazard...it is of course the name of a species of fresh water turtle.
Did Gorkamorka change the 2ed and Necromunda Sustained Fire rules? One roll to hit, then roll number of shots rather than roll number of shots and then roll to hit each one?
Ok y’all am I out of my mind, this came put when I was in high school and I only watched others play this at the LGS when it was new. I am AMERICA CONFUSE because I remember all of the vehicles being modular and breaking apart when they collided with each other, then both sides fought over the pieces so they could reassemble their own trukks after crashes
I think you did the thrusting wrong. If you turn after thrust you need to pass initiative with the drivver or you just go straight. Also a bike goes 7"

...I believe this game is meant to be played in green face. Show up cosplayed as a Digger. But for crap sake to not say that out loud... I wasn't trying to make an inappropriate joke about how that sounds articulated in English... I'm just saying you can be the ork worshipping humans. You have an in-lore excuse to be a human using the ork accent.

Looking at my stuff on camera I'm glad I went back and lightened my Orks up after our first 2 games. They are dark as hell in this video.

I used to have a Blood Bowl Ork Team called the "Dukes ov 'Azzad" so I fully approve of Jay's crew.

Just a rules check- you can’t turn in the middle of a thrust, only at the end and it requires a Ld check or spin.
