Playing against orks is easy, get the right color green dice and they are unable to be seen since they are camo. then just tell them it is so odd but you rolled 6's for every dice every roll all game.
These narrative type scenarios are really fun to watch because both from an army composition and tactics standpoint, it makes you approach the game a lot differently from the more traditional setups, which really mixes things up.
JT after he blew up the train cars and realized he blew up his own cover, was the perfect encapsulation of the Ralph Wiggum on the back of the bus meme. "I'm in danger!"
I was very happy to see some models pushed off the map by the terrain, in my head they were trading paint and got their wheels stuck together. As they tried to pull away they realized too late they were stuck, and then smashed into the rock in a fiery explosion. Good times.
Oh hey this is revamp of the old Gorkamorka 'Rolling Road' scenario which in itself was based on which had the same rules about terrain moving and then coming back onto the board whilst 'Da Boyz' would scrap around it.
This was insanely cool, I love speed freeks. Just one note: next time give the train a 4+ or 5+ invulnerable save, it should take a lot to actually bring them down.
Let me just say I enjoy how into it Nick seems to get and how passionate he is when he plays. Win or lose he looks like he has a blast. JT coming in with the surprise game too? Reflecting back Nick’s energy was awesome to see too. Thanks PlayOn!
Great scenario… but I think allowing the cars/engine to be blown up detracts a little from the ‘fight over’ the train. Maybe have objectives/turrets/thingys *on* each car which can be targeted?
Have objectives that fall off from the train when damage is taken and must have an action spent to be picked up, which also move back 12 inches as the terrain moves. It'll make the fight to hang around the bottom of the train interesting.
Now, I don't play 40k but that looked amazing and fun as hell! The whole time I watched it was like I was a kid watching it as a cratoon on Saturday mornings!
This honestly made me realise JT and Nick are a pair with fantastic chemistry, and we honestly don't see enough of them... 😹 They're obviously just so excited to be playing each other...
Such a cool gametype!!! I love these unique 40k encounters! Well played! My favorite part was the two guys that got hit by the mountian and disappeared. i imagined they both crashed and blew up on the mountainside while shooting and smashing into each other, lol.
God I love battle reports with narratives like this. I need to see more reporters giving us an intro to the battle at hand. And even if it weren't an Ork matchup, I'd think Ironjaw would be the perfect candidate, wherever the battle may be
Just wanna say that this concept for a game sounds AMAZING. As a Necron player it might be more difficult BUT a Nightscythe could be really cool to play in this type of game. Great episode!
Lokhust destroyers both regular and heavy with lords for 5+ lethals. DDAs for some heavy support and blast the train to scrap. Flat 6 dmg - 4ap on gauss exterminators hitting on 3s re rolling 1s on the heavy destroyers. 2 dmg -2ap on reg lokhust destroyer gauss cannons and thats without the DDAs Wraiths with a tecnomancer fly onto the opjectives and hold them. All these units fly and have ok movement. What's interesting about your idea of night scythes is you could i think drop possibly infantry onto the train. Our biggest issue is our movement for infantry. Our short range reapers on warriors or immortals with tesla or gauss. However in Hypercrypt with a monolith it could be interesting if it kept in contact with the train it could yeet units off the ground say flayed ones or skorpekhs and onto the train. Or even at a push the afore mentioned warriors or immortals Sounds like a nightmare to play against, but fun to use. Shame i dont have a monolith 😝
@@Steefgamer364 i am gratified to instruct a fellow overlord on the principals a certain archivist holds dear One does hope however, i have given you something to think about if not only how to guard ones treasures from our asteemed fellow overlord and his gallery.
This was an absolute hoot to watch. I love it when the guys do little sound effects and play with the models when they attack or die. It's so endearing and reminds me you just gotta enjoy the little things. I love seeing adults who have held on to their childhood wonder. Don't stop what you're doing. ❤❤
Love how many of these you guys are pumping out. Great to see short, sweet, straight to the point battle reports with this energy while making rulings clear.
I Feel like JT's strategy of just blowing the train, perfectly fits with Orks, like they were saying "We'z don't want it, but we'z don't want youz to 'ave it so we'z gon blowit up."
Seeing Genestealers always reminds me of the good old days... With the Walking Dead... And the survivors tried to get through.. Really wonderful BR, guys! Thank you, made my day!! 😊
If you have White Dwarf issue 470,they did similar rules for rolling terrain as used in this Batrep. " Road Wars: Strike Force Flashpoint Mission" was the scenario.
Level 20 Ghazkull mission in combat cards was too tough for me, i got all the rewards except the baneblade. Very good job on the campaign for combat cards, I really enjoyed it!!!!! Also loved the batrep as always =)
Such a fun game! I need to try this with my friends. Also, JT on orks! 🤘🤘🤘 Needless to say that I rolled back to JT's WAAAGH! at least 5 times. I cried, laughing! 😂
Amazing idea, this would make a great bit for an Ork movie. Now do a bluescreen table with warp shenanigans to see if it is cool. Bluescreen the objectives too so nobody can be sure they're actually scoring.
Fantastic scenraio, great game by the both of you. Wonderful to see, but i guessed who would win with a sizable lead from the thumbnail. I feel GW did a massive diservice to the losing army in how they designed them in 10th. Wait until 11th to play them again i feel and at least have a chance to win as well as fun. Grwat job you guys though. Your hard work on these kinds of games really does pay off.
If I was meeting JT for the first time and knew nothing about him besides that he plays 40k, I would immediately say, "you must be an Ork player." He just has that aura.
I just beat JT’s Halloween event on Combat Cards and it was fantastic. The Genestealer list and Ghaz lists were so much fun. I finished Ghaz off with 1 hp left on my leader (I went with the cannoness cause her bonus attack on ally death went crazy with the reinforcements)
You show how much fun warhammer can be if you dont just 2kv2k on tournament maps! i love it thx for the inspiration i will glady steal ideas for our Narrative home brew world
I like how midway through the game, it became a quarterly performance review for 'iz Boyz an 'em Gitz about 'ow'z da bloody Krumpin' fallen well below Da Boss' expectations!?
"I don't believe that therefore it won't happen, I'm an ork" I genuinely love that line

When playing orks... "I will fire my squiggleboomjumpjet and then charge with the rukkatrucka muckajumpa"
Then I will have boss Bores Johnsonstompa fire his Gitslugga
“And I’ll run them over with the Boomdakka Snazzwagon!”
Me, a space marine player whose weapons are all just named "weather phenomenon + bolter": "you made at least some of that up"
Because I’m a loyal servant of the imperium I’ll never change BUT MAN ORKS HAVE THE BEST NAMES!
To WAAAGH! or not to WAAAGH! is a horrible question. Clearly the answer is always TO WWAAAAGGGHH!
WAAAGH!!!

This entire battle was basically a storyboard for an animation. Love the kino, want to see more of it.
I almost laughed myself unconscious when that happened. And same head canon!
That Pitch Meeting reference was TIGHT. Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
I paused and had to explain to my wife why i was laughting so hard.
Nick always seems to have really bad luck with the Memestealers, feel bad as I like the army.
They are super cool looking but seem incredibly rare as an army
JT, you need to need to play Orks more often. This has been one of my favorite videos you guys have put out. Well done!!!!
NGL, orks are really fun!
Bro forgot like 15 scout moves 😭😭😭😭😭😭
This may be the single coolest scenario I've ever seen played out. Moving terrain?! That's so COOL!
When will we get blessed by Mr. Initiative Jones appearance again
Yes! It’s so strange seeing someone else playing as the orks
Oh hey this is revamp of the old Gorkamorka 'Rolling Road' scenario which in itself was based on which had the same rules about terrain moving and then coming back onto the board whilst 'Da Boyz' would scrap around it.
I've played a few boardgames with the same idea and it's pretty good fun.
This was insanely cool, I love speed freeks. Just one note: next time give the train a 4+ or 5+ invulnerable save, it should take a lot to actually bring them down.
I agree. I think that would have helped.
Let me just say I enjoy how into it Nick seems to get and how passionate he is when he plays. Win or lose he looks like he has a blast.

Great scenario… but I think allowing the cars/engine to be blown up detracts a little from the ‘fight over’ the train.
Maybe have objectives/turrets/thingys *on* each car which can be targeted?
Or at least make it way tankier so it would take multiple turns of focus fire
Have objectives that fall off from the train when damage is taken and must have an action spent to be picked up, which also move back 12 inches as the terrain moves. It'll make the fight to hang around the bottom of the train interesting.
I like the train hiest format. Really lets the mobile units shine.
This scenario combined with the duo Gorka JT & Ascencion Nick was a ton of fun to watch!
I was here laughing with you while watching! 😂
It was so much fun filming that game and it was a bit ridiculous too!
Orks, genestealers and a train heist. There is still beauty in this world!🥹

This was so fun to watch looked like you guys were having a blast playing it. Good job was brilliant.
