I loved David's message about getting out and riding to make yourself feel better. I'll miss his wisdom.

Thank you so much for mentioning my vlog! And I do think it’s so true that riding because it makes us feel good is our, and others’ motivation. It sounds so simple when you say it.
    “Why do you ride?”
“Because it makes me feel good.”
Yes, it’s good for our health and so many other things, but really, what reason do you need other than, “it makes me feel good!”
Thanks again for the mention. Greatly appreciated!
Oh, and I do hope spring comes soon for you! 😎

Definitely simpler to say than do. Fortunately as the roads clear, I can ride right from my house as a major bike path is at the end of my street which helps a lot. Just checked my weather ... another major winter storm watch is coming tonight. Sigh ...

@@PedalPushinAK Is spring normally erratic there as it is here? For as long as I can remember, the spring here could mean 15° with snow or 85° with beautiful blue skies. And either of those can last a couple days, a week or a month. And it is great to be able to ride right from your home. I'm exactly one mile from my trail which I love!

@@DavidRidesaTrike Spring tends to do that ... we refer to the switch over as “breakup.” More a reference to the rivers breaking free but it also means the snow melts off, roads turn to mud for a bit, and we stop going below freezing at night. Guessing about 3-4 weeks until breakup hits for real. Really hoping the snow doesn’t arrive tonight.

Great ride and video. Y0u are one tough, dedicated guy. Thanks for the superhuman efforts. I am departing Florida after four months and driving back to New England on Friday. It better warm up as I am so spoiled.....

Safe travels ... things warmed up a bit more today so spring might be on the way.

Ouch, still snowing? Just finished my 'after diner ride'. Still 21 degrees celcius over here at 19.30h, which is unusual. Nature is coming back to life. Hope for you the weather will soon turn ....!!

21 C sounds pretty nice right now. Figure about 4-5 more weeks until spring arrives. Hopefully no more snow.

I noticed you switched trikes between your opening segment and the rest of your video. Which works better in those conditions, the Full Fat or Adventure?
Looks like you have flat terrain; otherwise, I would imagine that traction would be a problem.
    Happy riding!

    • @PedalPushinAK
      @PedalPushinAK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Nice observation ... was wondering if folks would see that. Traction is a daily dilemma as so much just depends on how the snow and ice are behaving. The only conclusion I have so far is tire pressure and how if affects the tire getting to harder surface underneath the often slippery top. The Full Fat has a 4.2 studded rear tire that works great on ice but tends to grip a bit too much on packed snow on top if ice. The Full Fat also has a 4.8 general purpose rear tire that when deflated floats very well and let’s me push through the softer snow. The Adventure, however, has a 1.9 semi aggressive tread that tends to make hard pack or broken up ice a breeze as it cuts through it. So in the end, you give it your best shot and ... hope that spring and dry roads are coming.

I'm glad you mentioned "David Rides a Trike" in Chicago. I also subscribe to his TH-cam channel and he motivates me as a disabled senior to continue to ride my recumbent trike. Although I hurt somewhat after my rides, I wouldn't give it up for the world. I feel mentally and physically better afterwards. And... It's Fun!

I have an ICE Adventure too and just love it. I have Big Apple tires on it that work well except for icy, and snowy and muddy rides. What kind of tires do you have on your trike? Thanks.
