Hi Larry, I live in Dillingham, AK. I commute 11 miles to work. I ride a tandem recumbent. The winter limits limits me. Your trike was fun to watch. You answered my question about what 6 - 8 " of snow would be like.

A fellow Alaskan! Understand the limits of winter. Thanks for the comment.

Nice to meet you Larry. Sounds like a good life to me. Grandpa may be the best job ever. I am retired too, for a number of years. Fire service. Typical ride 20 miler with e assist bike Friday, or my salsa touring bike. Love both bikes.

Grandpa, or in my case, Grumpy is the best job ever. Guess it is the reward for all those working years.

Glad to meet you Larry. My typical ride is a 10 miler right here in the neighborhood. I hit my favorite surf spot to see if it’s worth fetching my board and always rode my bike path and the campus of.a nearby college. I also have a 20 miler where I head out to the north shore and cruise the coastline trails. My grandson lives 25 miles away so a 50 RT isn’t going to happen very often. He and his dad often come out to my neck of the woods and the three of us might ride the north shore trails. Aloha.

Excellent. Hawaii was actually the first state my wife toured with me.

My go-to ride for relaxation is to a local Monastery nearby, or up mont Hebron, which kicks my but each time.

Thanks for the personal info and short biography. Your current job is the best you will ever have. I hope you have a very long career in this one. Keep riding and posting. Thanks for sharing! BTW my typical ride is always in the 15-25 mile range on the trails on Cape Cod six days per week and one ride per week in the 35-50 mile range. I do a birthday ride each year...May 25. I will ride 69 miles on the Cape Cod RailTrail from Yarmouth to Wellfleet then circle down to Chatham and back. About 150 miles per week year found as I go to sunny Florida from mid December to mid April.

Excellent ... got the opportunity a while back to ride some of those trails in Cape Cod. Hopefully again some day.

Been to Alaska one time on a cruise, loved it, I think it would be cool to bring my Trike up there.

Hi Larry, my typical ride is a 21 mile loop from my house one and a half miles to the start of an really awesome bike trail here in Arlington,Tx. And ends 9 miles later in Grand Prarie,Tx.
I just ordered my wife a trike a couple of weeks ago so we can ride together like you and your wife do.
I wish I had more trails to ride.

I always enjoy your videos. My normal ride is usually between 15 and 18 miles. I live in Murfreesboro, TN....and not knowing what you taught, but if it was history, you will be familiar with Murfreesboro. We have one of the nicest greenways in the state. If you take some of the side jaunts...like thru the Stones River Battlefield, you can get about 28 miles. We ride every Thursday....pretty much all year long. Have a great day!

Sounds wonderful ... checked TN off our states quest when we cycled from Baton Rouge up to Nashville a few years ago.

Hi Larry this is jeff and I live down in Southeast Idaho and I just wanted to tell you that you have been an inspiration. It started When my wife wanted to go ride the Hiawatha Trail and northern Idaho when she went to try riding her old bike she found out she no longer has the balance to do that. So we decided to go on the search for a tricycle for her and that’s when we come across the fat tired tricycle. so we went to a Trike shop in southern Utah they do similar to your full fat and build bikes or trikes I should say. Well long story short I started watching videos of recumbent trike on the trails and your videos came up they interested me and I’ve been watching them as you’ve been going along and so I am thinking about doing the same thing in southern Idaho I’m going to start taking videos would like any information you do on how you do it because you do a pretty good job anyway I bought A Utah custom Fat tad crawler trike real similar to your full fat and bought the wife one not quite so aggressive she didn’t wanna go to the mountains like I did so just wanted to let you know your inspiration and I’m gonna see if I can get some videos I just got to figure out what kind of cameras I got to have thanks for being inspiration Jeff

Thanks for the kind comments. As for equipment, I started simply using my phone. I now use a GoPro primarily as it can simply survive all the bumps, etc. start simple … I am actually posting a video soon where I compare making a video to the 5 paragraph essay we all experienced back in school.

Thanks for your bio I started watching your channel this winter. I moved Prescott Valley Arizona in 2019 from Minnesota the Twin Cities area I lived for 30 years. I got my Adventurer by going on a adventure to the Hostel in Wisconsin next door, the 4 hour drive was worth the trip because of there huge selection . I grew in Vegas so I had a yearning for the west so Prescott and Yavaphai county is it. When I first came to Arizona I really missed the bike trails Minnesota had. My typical ride is through the Prescott Country club. I could continue to Prescott which I have done when I first came to Arizona. It’s about 14 miles. To date I have ridden almost. 6,000 miles. There is recreational place called Watson Lake Park that takes you in the Dells. I edit a movie using GoPROs new updated QUIK APP. And just got HERO9. Thanks

Excellent! Haven’t gotten to ride in Arizona yet. My dad actually moved here from the Prescott Valley 10 years ago. We thoroughly enjoyed the trails in Minnesota when we did a tour across Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan.

when riding what is your average speed

    • @PedalPushinAK
      @PedalPushinAK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Just looked through my logs ... on my Adventure I average around 12.5, on the Full Fat it drops to 9.6. So many factors and each ride is different.

Larry! I’ve been wondering since I started watching your videos and chatting with you what your name was but I didn’t want to ask because I thought maybe you didn’t want to put it out on the interwebs for one reason or another. I have a couple of typical rides. One is a 20 mile out and back ride and another is what I call a coffee ride. You guessed it. It’s a ride to the coffee shop and back and that ride is about 12 miles. Oh, I noticed you’re wearing shorts so the answer to the question about what the drivers are staring at is obvious. They’re looking at your sexy legs!😂

White pasty legs perhaps after the long winter. Always good to have a few typical rides. My wife and I have another ride to a local old style diner that is a favorite.
