It's good to see Paul wheeled out for another video. I include myself amongst the many people he has helped in choosing the right gear. I hope everyone at Trekitt had a good Christmas. 🎄
Thanks for the video Paul! NEMO has their poly nylon OSMO fabric which is more water resistant and less prone to stretching when wet for their's tents. I wonder if this material is applicable for garments. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎉
The Nemo OSMO Fabric is certainly an interesting approach to tent fabrics, whether it would transfer over well to garments is something Nemo might be able to answer, but we'd guess there are prohibiting factors for using that particular type of fabric for clothing, be it cost, or the need for more durable denier fabrics due to the increased wear associated with clothing products. But could make for some cool pieces. We'll ask Nemo next time we're in touch, you've got us curious!
what about smell and holding of stinkiness in that materials pls? For me is also very important. i would sacrifies some strenghts in the material for not being stinky.
Odour is less of a concern with shells compared to polyester or nylon baselayers, or anything worn closer to skin. But in general, polyester will retain odour more than nylon. We always recommend regular washing and product care for your shell garments to keep them performing at their best, so with regular washing any odour build up shouldn't be an issue.
Whilst Gore-Tex Shakedry is a fantastic membrane for keeping you dry when you don't plan on carrying anything, it is both a vulnerable membrane, lacking the protection of an outer face fabric, and has been discontinued by Gore due to the use of PFCs/PFAS chemistry in it's construction.
@trekitt thanks. I think it's more the communication with the dog that breaks the flow of the video for me, a bit of a forced interruption. We the viewer should have your attention not the dog.
More videos with Paul please!!!!!!!!! He’s so knowledgeable. His videos are great.
Paul is such a trekitt iconic person with his calming voice. I love it to watch him. Thank you, for bringing him!

There's something called Supplex nylon which is just as soft and quiet than polyester.
Beard in the woods..your him to a tee !
And if you do not wear backpack, the best solution is just the membrane - gore-tex shakedry jackets. These are lightest and most breathable.
And worst for the environment, apparently

The dog is annoying and detracts from the good information.
Guess we found the cat person... We'll ask Winnie to rein in the zoomies next time.

Leave the mutt out of it or throw it on the BBQ, other than that very informative.
I'd be interested how often to redo DWR??
Tack
Whenever it needs it, you moody get.
I want more dogs in videos!
Seeing Winnie made me laugh
