As you guys know its my first time visiting my first African country outside of Ghana. Come spend a full day in Togo with me. We are going to explore the markets, some of the beautiful homes they have here and their absolutely stunning beaches.
When you travel across West Africa and take time to explore the cities, you begin to really appreciate how great Africa is. The country Togo has been underrated for too long. In this video, I want to show you the capital city Lome like never seen before.
Togo with its capital city Lome is a very important country in West Africa, both in terms of its economic significance and presence as West Africa's first deep seaport.
Lomé has a thriving market scene, with several large markets selling everything from fresh produce to second hand clothes, to jewellery to traditional handicrafts.
One of the highlights of Togo is its beautiful beaches, which are often uncrowded and perfect for a relaxing day in the sun. It's important to access their beaches through the resorts as its safer and more beautiful. There are also several museums and cultural centres that showcase the art, music, and traditions of Togo.
Togo is a francophone country, however, there are also many schools and programs that provide high-quality English language education, and many Togolese people are able to speak English fluently.
As the newest member of the Uk commonwealth, English language education in Togo is provided through both public and private schools, and there are also a number of language institutes and centers that offer English language classes to adults and professionals. In some areas, there are also community-based English language programs that provide language instruction to people who may not have access to formal schooling.
Lome is generally safe, although like any urban area, it is important to exercise caution and be aware of your surroundings.
The cost of living in Lome is very affordable compared to many other African cities, Ghana included. Cost of living can vary depending on factors such as location, type of housing, and lifestyle. Transportation costs are also relatively affordable, with options like shared taxis and buses available to help keep costs down.
The capital city is home to many of the country's government institutions, including the National Assembly and the Supreme Court, as well as a number of international organizations and embassies. Lome is also an important cultural center, with a vibrant arts scene and a rich history that is reflected in its architecture and museums.

My name is Jasmine and I have relocated from Sydney Australia to Ghana in west Africa as of the year 2020.
My parents are of Ghanaian descent and so am I although I was born in Australia. Here on my channel, my goal is to give you a real glimpse into what it’s like to live in Ghana, from the Ghanaian food, to the Ghanaian culture, to the Ghanaian lifestyle and everything in between. My goal is to satisfy your curiosity about Ghana and help inspire to explore Ghana.
My prayer is that these videos do just that for several African’s in the diaspora.
Follow your bliss because life is short, follow your bliss because human life has no intrinsic value, follow your bliss because everything happens for the greater good and follow your bliss because it has all happened before.

I was in Lome just for a few hours, waiting at the airport to go to Ghana and you're right about the language barrier...if you don't speak French or Ewe...you better figure it out fast...lol! Ghana's GDP is way higher than Togo but I definitely understand your sentiment about the socio-economic disparity. Unfortunately, you see that in many countries. In my homeland, Haiti, it's very obvious. The countries in Latin America that I visited like Brazil, it's quite obvious as well. When you have a caring mindset and heart, things like that upset you.
What I always try to do in every trip (I have a feeling you do as well) is to cherish the beautiful moments found even in the most sad/chaotic environments and to focus on lessons/experiences learned from kind and honest people along the way. I hope that we will get to see you travel to other African cities in the future. Thank you for being real and showing it!

@@cerises7820 I didn't say it in a way to downgrade Togo and reading it again, it could appear like that. I only said that because Jasmine was comparing the infrastructures of Ghana to Togo and obviously, Ghana's economy and population is higher than Togo. I didn't mean to offend at all and yes, all those countries are developing. Africa will prosper more and more, I believe it.

Your security is in your own hands.I can understand why the fence walls are like maximum security prison. There are high jumpers out there. They would be done with you by time police gets to you.

Not so,am a Togolese and as southerner, that how we built our houses with high walls because for us it's like belly and outsider shouldn't know what is happening inside and that's the reason why the security is always tith in those areas so outsiders can't come and film anyhow and do everything they like, yes privacy is very key to the Togolese.

Great video Jasmine!! Maybe they need to have those soldier guys at the Malls here in America. There are literally mass shootings like everyday. The violence is getting hectic. It is 10 times worse then when I was a teenager in the 90s. It might seem a bit scary but I think sometimes safety is necessary for those soldier guys to carry guns at the gate. Maybe if that was done in the states there would be less casualties. I wouldn't be surprised if that happened here one day. Because I don't think the government is ever going to ban assault rifles. Otherwise they would have done it by now and there is too much money involved. It's a shame.I have no doubt that if it wasn't for the money they would have stricter gun laws. And if I'm wrong why don't they change it?. I really don't understand it. So many elementary school kids have died. As well as high school, college, elderly, and even random shootings at hospitals. Anyway sorry for my rant Jasmine smh. Again great video!!! Keep them coming.

    • @richyakuoko2360
      @richyakuoko2360 ปีที่แล้ว

@@DarekBirton yeah police brutality is bad. Do you live in America?. Because even Americans are saying it's bad. The mass shootings might not be every single day. But it's a few times a month or more. Trust me I been living here for 32 years. And in the last 15 or more years it has gotten worse. The Devil is on the attack. All this is in the bible, in Revelation and through out the Bible.

I think it is really refreshing to be honest. However, when it is someone's else country and they have to live in it and struggle daily, some level of maturity is needed otherwise your complaints can come off as "spoilt rich girl" who cannot adapt to tough situations. That being said your host was very gracious and handled your complains about Togo well.
