I would recommend A Texas Speed or Brian Tooley truck cam Kit. But you won’t be able to go past a stage 2 with the stock torque converter, that will offer a mild lopey idle, nothing very aggressive. But still two good options.
There is no way I can answer that. It all depends on multiple different things. Just some ideas: try shorter motor mounts to lower the engine or use a low profile intake. People put LS setups in 63’s all day so there is something you probably need to change.
Only code this has caused is the EVAP sensor code, but that’s because I got rid of it. I am also in a emissions county. You can keep the EVAP installed in the back of the intake or delete it in the tune. Mine is deleted, but before I go get the emissions test done I have to go to my tuner and get him to turn the EVAP sensor “on” then quickly go to a close by emissions sight and get it tested. The ECU takes about 20 miles before it notices the sensor is missing. So at the testing sight the code is not active during that time. The choice is yours. The spot where you can put the sensor doesn’t work 100% with the factory sensor, so in my opinion it was easier to remove it rather then rigging something up.

I honestly have no clue. This was done along with many more mods so I had no way to do that type of comparison. Only thing I can say is the power is really strong on the top end, and I feel like the intake plays a role in that.
Why not just flip the fuel rails around, connect them at the stock location and out the regulator under the truck? Have a way cleaner look in ur engine bay.
That doesn’t change anything. The fuel rails are identical and can be used on either side so flipping them does not change the orientation of anything. The crossover tube would just be in the front but would not fit because of the truck alternator position. Trust me it’s not a simple solution like you think. It requires a major overhaul of the fuel system to make it work the way I want it. But I will say there are now specialized fittings that could fit behind the alternator but they are very expensive. Since it works I’ll just leave it as is. No need to create new problems

@@MICLANTECUTLI probably just someone with good experience on the LS platform. The intake and the supporting items aren’t anything unique. But to get it running and set the base fuel pressure LS knowledge will make it easier
@@Stan1le One more question brother I have the throttle body it looks just like the Holly but it doesn't say anything on it. So just wanted to know if you knew a way to identify the throttle so I can get the correct injectors for it. I have a 2004 Tahoe 5.3 engine in my truck
I have a question... why do you have the boost reference hooked up on your regularly but no boost?
billy johnas it’s not for boost. It’s for vacuum coming for the intake
that's a 1to1 regular which means 1 pound of boost equals 1 more pound of fuel. read your instructions. if your not running boost you can cap it off or leave it open it wont do anything either way. but the way you have it there's a 99% chance its changing your fuel pressure while your driven. if you want to check it start it up and unhook it and see if it change. I can almost promise it will.
@@billyjohnas2652 remember....fella said it works for him and his setup
@@mauricemcilwain4998 lol it makes no difference if he hooks it up or no it dose nothing but make you case fuel pressure when its idling and makes it harder for the tuner to correct. if he unplugged it his car would run better. it doesn't matter what you have it on it works the same. but thank you for responding kinda a little weird but whatever
Are the cheaper versions worth getting from Amazon?
Yea I would think so. They are all essentially the same. Would just avoid the Amazon version for boosted applications as they tend to use thinner metal
@@Stan1le thanks
Is the break booster connected to the bottom of the intake?? An what about the map sensor I have the same Intake I need a little advise
Isaac Sandoval yes they are both connected that way. The map is hooked up but it is deleted out of the tune. With this intake there isn’t a good place for it as you probably noticed. I just ran a short line out from the vaccum block of the intake a hooked it to the sensor.
Isaac Sandoval the big bung is for the brake booster
@@Stan1le thanks a lot
how much fuel pressure do you need for it to crank ?
About 30psi I believe
I have just bought the same intake for my 2005 5.3 but it won’t sit flush any suggestions?
Shouldn’t be a problem because the cylinder head geometry is the same on all of the 5.3. Can’t really say what the issue is since I’m not looking at it
Will it fit a 4.8?
Yes it will. It’s the exact same as a 5.3
U have the cathedral intake or rectangular
Cathedral
@@Stan1le I’m runnin rectangular port on my cathedral heads a lot of people runn it like that I’m have issues starting I have spark nd air fuel idk if it interfere I ranned the same 180° on the passenger side idk if it caused my fuel psi to not work
@@GbodySS_LsX hopefully it’s something you can diagnose. Having this intake hasn’t caused any issues like that so I can’t speak on it
Will this fit im gmc sierra 2015 5.3L
I don’t see why not
What’s the cam and exhaust setup?
here you go: th-cam.com/video/VlwKOBVhwf0/w-d-xo.html
Nice job.. Looking for some help on what to buy for an 07 5.3 Avalanche.
Hopefully you got some help by now.
So question is that the intake off Amazon or eBay?
This one is from Summit Racing.
Look just like the Amazon one?
@@ismaelrodriguezjr998 I couldn’t tell you. I’ve never seen the Amazon one in person. They probably look similar but the summit/Holley probably has better fit & finish
Did it need a retune afterwards?
Yes 100%
What’s the mini filter on the top left side called an what’s it for??
Catch can/Crank case breather
Hey how did you do set up your catch can?
it's running off the pcv system using the provisions the holley valve covers have on them
I got 1 question for you stan! 😏
How much hp do you think you gained by using this new intake?
I honestly have no clue. This was done along with many more mods so I had no way to do that type of comparison. Only thing I can say is the power is really strong on the top end, and I feel like the intake plays a role in that.
@@Stan1le thanks for the speedy reply brotha..what state are you in sir?
Ive always wanted to know what wheels you have, im lookin for wheels for my 2000 single cab
27quick Crew just got them off eBay. Look for 20” GMC All Terrain wheel or “snowflakes”
Im having problems with it turning on, i keep getting a map sensor code i have it wired exactly how you have it and thats cause i didnt watch the video untill i built it
I’m pretty sure we turned mine off for tuning. It’s only there for “emissions purposes”
take it to the track & make some runs
its slow, trust me
How so good brother?I bet if change the cam springs and rear end that 5.3 ought to turn up if u haven't already did all that
Or is it just based on the tune??
Everybody knows that them intake manifolds make less power than the truck manifolds
not true at all
Just some ideas
Is that a speedmaster
What are you referring to?
Your Holley
@@foolishgwaez1726 no clue what a speedmaster is. This is basically a Holley high ram “sheet metal” intake.
