Unique? Genius? So much more? Yes, to all. SRV is the GOAT. There isn't any question. He was simply perfect. There are certain people that are so exceptional, part of me wonders if they were actually of this planet. SRV is at the top of that list. And his band-I know they rarely get the attention they deserve because of SRV but they were absolutely superb.
No other guitarist combined technical prowress, tone, feeling, showmanship, and physicality like Stevie did---period!! AND throw in that singing voice that fit in perfectly with the playing. Incidently, Stevie was deep in the throes of addiction at this performance. The next year he'd be set free---and become better than ever!!
Great reaction! Please check out SRV's Mary Had a Little Lamb at Austin. By the way, when in Austin, call in early to Austin City Limits. Same place Stevie and others have rocked the world. 😊
By the way, I agree with about how you experience listening to Stevie. For me, I get emotional because of his artistry but it is also the quality of his humanness.
I always felt like SRV was an open medium channeling music seamlessly and effortlessly like no other guitarist has ever done. His vocal was underrated. He died in 1990 at the age of 36 in a helicopter crash, and what more would he have given us had he lived? RIP SRV, TY for the music you left us. Some must listens: Pride and Joy, Leave My Little Girl Alone, Couldn’t Stand The Weather, Little Wing, Ain’t Gonna Give Up On Love, Blues At Sunrise (With Albert King). I enjoyed your reaction, TY.
I can say that most of the tracks you mention I’ve reacted to on my channel 😊👍 and yes a great legacy of timeless music left for us to enjoy and hopefully the next generation will too 😊
Great musicians, and their music, last through time. It doesn’t matter if an individual does not likes the music but as long as there is a large group of people listen, enjoy, and try to understand - the music (and its’ musician) we endure and find hearts to reside in.
🙌👏🎸🎶💙Hey Alan👋🌹. Couldn't click fast enough when this notification turned up. I always enjoy your reactions but especially Stevie Ray. The look in your eyes mirror my own showing awe, amazement, respect, and love. Somehow I never tire of his music or his genuine passion. Each and every time I watch him play, it's as if it is the first time. But the more I watch/listen the more respect and appreciation I have. How pleasantly surprised I was to hear you mention me probably suggesting this. I appreciate your dedication to details👌. Before I go to buy some coffees I would love you to keep this next request in mind. Riveria Paradise is considered by many, myself included, to be Stevie's masterpiece. He was working on it for a number of years but perfected it after his own rehab and recovery. It acknowledges the pain of being trapped in addiction, gives a musical healing balm for a weary spirit, and infuses the spirit of recovery and regained power and strength, unfolding peace and freedom. He dedicates it to all those still suffering in any way. It is very much on the slow jazzy side. It really expresses so much of his own personal path and the triumph over his life. He spent the last years of his life helping people find their way out and it meant everything to him to do that. He felt strongly that music has a strong healing force and I agree🎶 The performance is from Austin City Limits 1989. You are looking great Alan! Life must be agreeing with you🦋
Hi Harriet , I have put aside Riviera Paradise for a while , I’ve asked myself why ? Uncomplicated answer , not ready not aware enough of who he was musically , so yes I’m approaching it with a more educated mind set now .. I absolutely take conversation ( digital or not ) as a good thing and value them , I do genuinely screen shot and make notes , perhaps I’d do a behind the making of a reaction one time , but it’s simple , I’m just curious about what I don’t know and curious about what I think I know in exactly the same measure .. If that makes sense 😊 In case I wasn’t explicit “ Riviera Paradise “ is next .. for 2 reasons , you asked and secondly I’m ready 😊 oh and your email on my buy me a coffee page just pinged .. headed thier in a minute 😎👍
@@alan-reacts65 well for whatever reason you have yet to react to Riveria Paradise, I pronounce you ready to absorb, appreciate, and be in awe of this man’s mastery and how he is able to pray through his guitar. Have to share a story from the recording session of this song. He had the lights turned down in his room, turned his back so he couldn’t see anyone and started playing. He had been told they only had a certain amount of minutes left on the tape. He said no problem. But he was still playing and the tape was running out. They frantically tried to get his attention to wrap it up but he didn’t see them. Then with seconds to spare he finished🎶. Everyone was astonished. When asked why no lights and back turned he said it was as close to praying with his guitar as he could get. You will hear his prayers 🙏🙏🙏🎶🎶
I need to say If I just said next to nothing I could get a copy right strike because I’m not doing anything to transform the content ! And genuinely if everyone or at least a significant number on the channel gave me the same feed back then I’d obviously take it on board because of that, but if you genuinely feel this way , you are free to tell me , but we will probably have to agree to disagree 👍 absolutely no offence is intended btw .

@@alan-reacts65 Thank you, although it's just the truth!
I dare literally anyone to try and replicate his music with the same amount of soul and passion. Physically impossible.

One of my favorite SRV jams. Nice treat getting a live show.
Saw him live on his Texas Flood tour in a small venue/bar. So glad I had the chance to see him play in person before he got really well known.
