It’s a beautiful song,I don’t think any regrets, maybe wondering what his life would have been like. He loves making music, loved touring but hated being away from his family. He loved being on his farm with his wife & kids, & milking his goats. Their song Thank You, was written for his wife Maureen, thanking her for standing by him & early on the bread winner. All Of My Love, written as a tribute to their 5 year old son who passed away, a beautiful & poetic song. I love the slow blues song Tea For One, being away from & missing his wife, after their major car accident. Robert’s leg & elbow were crushed & broken, his wife had a skull fracture & broken pelvis, & almost died. Another beautiful one about time going so slow being away from her & their kids. Robert didn’t know if he’d walk again, & was in a wheelchair for about a year, & in one recording the Presence album. Thanks for your reaction, I could hear the music really good, but could barely hear you talking. Please do more Led Zeppelin.

I wouldn’t say the love of his life, more like a very young or first love. He dated his wife about 2 years before they married, & they Married on November 9,1968, he turned 20 on August 20,1968. I’d guess the song was when he was about 16 or 17, but someone he still thought about. He really loved his wife Maureen, they divorced in (1983), which could have also been a result of losing their 5 year old son. I & so many of us fans are happy he chose his music, he’s spent his life doing what he loves, not everyone does that.

Yeah, you gotta love RORY! I just picked up the new DELUXE 6-CD Reissue of his first, eponymous album. Magnificent! The Deluxe Edition of his 2nd record comes out in the fall, and you can bet that's an artifact I MUST own! 🤩 Thanks for giving Mr. Gallagher his much-deserved airplay, Alan! Great one!

@@alan-reacts65 No need to be embarrassed Alan, there are so many great guitarists of the past and present. Gary Moore plays with so much soul and feeling it is mind-blowing. Loved the Rory video and your description of his playing. I find it crazy that he wasn't more well known?

Her music in this one is going African/maybe Middle East -her look is very central-eastern European, her voice and choice of intonation is very Western influence-she’s such a world gem!

Lemmy was in fact a very underrated text writer. You can see that in other songs too, like for example in God Was Never on Your Side, I Ain't no Nice Guy and Just Cos' You Got The Power. He isn't given the credit he deserves in that respect.

My guess is that within music he’s definitely more revered , but to tbf it’s not like Motörhead aren’t iconic 😊

Rory and Horslips were the greatest ever Irish musical exports.

Never heard of him until seeing a doc on Irish music that would pop up every year on St. Patrick’s Day from VH1 about 20 years ago; I think they quoted Bono as saying Rory was his favorite guitarist. Incredible guy!! I think people may be put off by the old keyboard sound but “A Million Miles Away” is my favorite of his songs. Love his cover of Tony Joe White’s “As the Crow Flies”.
