Speed and the matrix are the absolute action movies of the 90s
I have a home theater and this has an epic DTS track. Upgrade wasn’t necessary
I agree. With a proper HT setup, it sounds fantastic anyway.
Face Off is one of my favorite action movies of the 90’s
I’ll probably wait for kino’s next sale to get the 4K, because I spent a lot over the holiday season.
Speaking of… I got my first package from Kino’ winter sale in today; I got The Night of The Hunter, 12 Angry Men, and Eastern Promises. All on 4K

Top 5 favorites for me, no doubt. Right up there with The Rock, Con-Air and Speed. I remember seeing Con-Air and Face/Off as a double feature in August of 1997. Great times!
John Woo, John Travolta, Nicolas Cage… how could you NOT love this movie?

John Woo’s Hard Boiled and The Killer are better. Face/ Off is definitely a 90’s classic action film.
Face/Off finally came in the mail today and I played it on 4k Ultra HD and it looks and sounds absolutely spectacular, Kino Lorber continues to put out fantastic 4k transfers 👊👊📽

Love this 4K transfer - I was very happy to revisit it after many years. I would absolutely LOVE if Kino picked up Broken Arrow (one of my all time favorites)!

The Cagiest Cage!
If what you said about about True Lies is true i fear for Aliens and The Abyss, but based on Camerons work on T2 can we be supprised by this. Such a disappointment if they all end up DNRd like T2 ...after so many years of waiting. Cameron needs to step back and let someone else take over.
Someone please correct me about this if I am wrong, but I believe the original DVD and Blu-ray had a basic DTS or Dolby Digital soundtrack. This version upgraded the audio to lossless audio, which I noticed to be an improvement.

90s action at its best and Cage is absolutely unhinged.
ken, this is a fun movie, and i agree with you
but i kinda seem to think cage's role probably couldve matched the characters of the other cage movies the rock and con air
cause here, and i will be honest, this movie does have its fun moments that i agree with
But i will be honest, certain parts i didnt enjoy , seeing cage disfigured during the scene in the lab for a moment was gross
another brief scene that was kinda disturbing, was during the opening, when cage has a argue with one of the cop characters and that does lead in to that shootout as he is getting off the plane
this is why i Put the rock and con air higher up on the list , castor troy is One of those characters have a 50/50 split on
cage is a good actor in other movies, But castor the character is Not
if this movie had been like the rock, then travolta and cage probably wouldve been chasing someone else as the villian
this is why i like the rock and conair more, those two movies have a quality that this film Lacks, which is that Buddy cop tone
not that this is good, it just Lacks the Buddy cop quality

The very first DVD I ever owned was Face/Off and I watched it to death. I was too broke to catch in theaters. They do face transplants and you dont look like the original because its your skull shape that gives you your appearance.

It's a fantastic action movie 🎬! Travolta is phenomenal!! As much as I love The Rock, Broken Arrow and Con Air, FACE/OFF is better.

THIS RELEASE IS A PURE "DISASTER"! They corrected it vertically but CROPPED so heavily on the sides that all cinescope-feel and the vision of the director and cinematograph was destroyed! King Lorber should not get any other movie-rights!

Matrix is more sci-fi, you might as well throw Blade in there. When I think of 90's action movies then it's Speed, Con Air, Demolition Man, maybe even Twister ect
