I remember a gospel song over 50 plus years ago. I’m using my Bible for a road map. Our Bible is our GPS to Heaven. Dr Charles Stanley said he would read a verse maybe 30 times before he got it,the meaning. I read my Bible through a few times in a few weeks and I realized I didn’t get anything from my Bible. So I started over reading a few scriptures at a time. I pray asking God for wisdom and understanding what I’m reading. I’m a slow learner so I ask God to please go slow sometimes and he does. Thank you for sharing this video. I’m asking for prayers, I have a procedure at the hospital on October 10th at 6:30 AM. Also please keep my daughter and her husband and their kids and my son and his daughter in your prayers that God will get their attention and they say the sinners prayer asking Jesus for forgiveness of their sins and to save their souls. Walking the straight and narrow ain’t easy, but IT’LL BE WORTH IT WHEN WE HEAR JESUS WELCOME US INTO HEAVEN FOR ETERNITY. Thank you and I love all of y’all. I pray God’s Blessings for you and Austin and Olive and your granny and Paul and your mom and dad and Katie and anybody who reads this. We Are So Very Blessed Amen 🙏🙏.

Funny you should mention Dr. Stanley. We used to tune in to his program. Once, several years ago, he was praying and said, "Lord, Make them read their Bibles every day. And if they haven't read before bed, keep them up at night until they do." We have been reading every night since. About those children, I worked with a guidance counselor who told me about a little boy who was quite a bit of trouble. One day, he was good for several days. So she asked him what happened. He told her he got saved and doesn't act that way anymore. When my grand was in middle school, I had him walk around the campus before the school year started, praying, as in the Circle Maker, for protection. After a few circles, I put on Dr Jeremiah's sermons about Elijah. He asked if we could stop and rest while he listened! Use every power you have to reach them.
Hey Corie! I have been on a journey to learn and study my bible for a few years now. I was raised going to church and have been a christian for my whole adult life but have struggled to be consistent with reading,I'm just keeping it real here. In the past five years though something changed in me and my time with God in His Word have really improved! Last year I found the reading plan called the Bible Recap and it has been wonderful. Each day Tara Beth Cobble asigns the Scripture reading and after we read it we can go and watch her 7 minute video and she explains what is going on in the daily reading. I would love to say that I read my bible everyday but that would not be true, however I am getting much better.❤🙏🏻 Love you guys!
My sweet friend, I am there with you. I sometimes wonder if because we were raised in it, if it isn't easier to 'skip it' because we 'know' it, trying to justify MY lack. I'VE learned (learning) because I know the 'story' if I don't dig, as with any treasure, I am missing the treasure chest filled, and just because I read it once and found the treasure doesn't mean it's empty after. Every time I open the treasure chest, I find it has been replenished again and again but with more and more. The more I learn, the next time I open the treasure chest I find there is a greater treasure than before.
Prayers for you my friend to become deeper rooted in THE WORD and a renewed relationship with the Father and ask that you will please pray the same for me.

I love this! My life has been filled with the bible being a part of my life. I unfortunately left the teaching and the Christian lifestyle in my adult years due to my failed marriage and shame for my part in the failures, not only in my marriage but as a mother. I will say this, I would have went down deeper into sin if it had not been for my relationship with God and the understanding of what He wanted from us and what He does for us, and i am ao grateful for that understanding. Now that i am working myself back into myself, and trying give myself mercy and grace, i am back in my bible. I can HONESTLY say that the earlier teaching and knowlwedge of the bible when i was younger has helped me so much, because i know how to go to scriptures and know how to navigate thru Gods word to fully get the entire message and if i have doubt, i know how to go find the full message. God has made it so plain, and really i feel as tho if u TRULY WANT IT, GOD WILL PROVIDE IT...THANK YOU CORIE FOR HELPING THIS OLD WOMAN GET BACK TO ME THE ROOTS OF WHERE I CAME FROM, AND THE ENCOURAGEMENT TO GET THERE. Kori watching a lay person show methods in studying the bible is such an example to all. You are right--I do like to keep it simple, the way it was meant to be. Your bible reminds me of my aunt's bible--a little worn and well marked. I told her if she wants to leave anything to me---please let it be her bible. Thank you for sharing these tips---they are good ones for sure! The devil will tempt you every time you pick up the bible. But he surely leaves really quick the more you understand God's word. Praying for Granny and all yall going thru it. Please say a prayer for my foot as it has been really bad lately. Pray for people with CRPS as it is really horrible and can affect anyone. Love you guys!! PS... I just love the deer on the wall...

In the last few weeks I kept seeing people comment about Psalms 91, I turned to that and read it, and a few days later a lady Peggy Joyce Ruth channel came up in my feed, took me a few days to click on her channel, then this past weekend I was given my late grandfathers Bible and one of my grandmothers with little pieces of paper that bookmark scripture, those little bookmarked verses go right along with what I have been learning lately. Excellent video! God is using you in a might powerful way. The more you ready/study the more you learn. The more you learn the more you will want to read/study the bible. I have found myself at a desk with multiple study books open with a notebook not wanting to stop enjoying myself with the knowledge God is pouring into me.

I've read the Bible from Genesis to Revelations starting as a young girl during summer vacations. But I'm reading now with more understanding as I get older (65). I was drawn to Romans 8:26-28 tonight. My hubby was admitted to the hospital from Rehab today & he's not feeling well at all. I would greatly appreciate prayers for him. He's really been suffering from a severe spinal cord injury & a broken neck on Nov 1st 2022. He has been thru so much & he's a precious God-loving man & we'll celebrate 48 yrs married in Dec. I like reading a chapter a day in Proverbs since there are 31 chapters. That helps me start with wisdom and usually very understandable. Then I am doing what’s being studied at church. All you said is so smart and helpful.
I needed this, Corie! I was born to a Pastor, my Daddy was LITERALLY in the pulpit preaching while I was being born, and It have literally been raised in THE WORD. But, that doesn't mean it's always easy to do what I NEED to do, be in THE WORD like I need. The Lord has been dealing w my heart about this and then here you post this... proof God US working through you and Katie and I want to say THANK YOU! THANK YOU for being Obedient, Corie!! Another great video, Corie. This year I started to read 2 devotionals in the morning and then a Bible passage from the second of the two devotionals everyday. Linking the Bible reading to the devotional reading makes it easy to find a passage to read and stay consistent with the Bible reading. Thank you for sharing these tips. Will definitely be putting those tips into practice for a deeper understanding.

Excellent video. This is so important. Many Bible verses come to mind: "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God" (Matt. 4:4). "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth" (John 17:17). "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Thank you Corie, this was very good! I also love the King James Bible. I have other versions I read sometimes, but I love the KJV best. One tip I have noticed since I have been more diligent about reading the Bible and studying it, is that it is incrementally changing me. It’s hard to tell the difference over the course of a week or month, but over the course of several months and years, I can tell there is beginning to be a difference in me. The Word is washing me and giving me more of a desire to read the Bible and to repent often and draw closer to God, seeking Him. Thank you for your ministry, you are a sweet, precious girl. Your husband is very lucky to have found you. I hope he is seeking God as much as you are, especially if you ever have children.
I wish you'd do an hourly reading once a week, because I know I'd watch. Also, thank you for praying for me, about my skin. My psoriasis is getting better from home remedies now, and my Faith has protected me from chronic depression on this matter.. Thank you.😊
Thank you Corey I always appreciate your devotionals. You’re so right about everything! God loves us so much, and he provided this long love letter for us that contains all the good, bad and ugly about his poor fallen human race so we can learn more about Him and why he created us and loves us so much and desires a love relationship with us. It’s like he has written each one of us a big check, but we have a part to play, we need to cash it. If we don’t know anything about it, we won’t understand to cash it (accept Him and allow him to become our loving heavenly father) then we’re just wasting it. There was a time in my life where I was very far away from God and His word. I can remember, sort of this game, Grandma taught me years ago. She would ask me to "ask myself a question", any question and not share it with anyone. Then go to the Bible and "just open it". Then read both pages that you see, and you will get your answer. I've tried it many times, and many times gotten my answer. Now that I am reaching out to God more and more, hoping to receive His grace I have been going back to the things I was taught. I even share this way, along with reading the full books of the New Testament to my 12-year-old Granddaughter. I can only hope she remembers "Pappy" for doing so. 🙂

Yes. I can only read a little bit of each verse and chapter. I’ve actually had my eyes cross as I’m reading and have to step back and know that I missed it all. So I stop and go back and just focus on a verse or two.
Please pray for my son and I. We have a sick dog and it has really been hard. He has quit eating and only can take a little water at a time. The vet said today that he hopes it’s not cancer, but could been.

Excellent video, friend. This year I was moved by God to feast on His word. I have always had a hard time reading it so I found a podcast that does reading everyday as well as a thorough explanation of that reading. I am currently on day 269 and I cannot tell you how much it has changed me and my outlook on the world. My anxiety, my anger and my discontent has slowly lifted and every time I put in my ear buds and press play I am a better version of myself. That has been 40+ years ago and I still mark in my Bible and take notes in the margins according to her instructions. You are a blessing to me.

I agree with reading at a pace that allows you to really get to the meat of what’s be said. I used to trying and at least read a chapter during my Bible times but now I read a few sentences, sometimes just two. It’s amazing what the Lord will reveal when we savor His word. Thank you for sharing!

Hi Corie, I am a 70 yr old grandma and just loved your video. With all the things going on in the world, it just seems people are straying from God, instead of drawing closer to him.
Your explanation of how to start reading the Bible was perfect! Your video encouraged me to pick up my Bible again and start reading it! Both you girls are blessed and are wonderful role models for the younger generation.
Would you please pray for my husband’s (Norm) family. They are dealing with loss of family members. They were suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. 2 of his nephews committed suicide and his brother passed from cirrhosis of liver due to alcohol. I am praying for God to to be by their side and comfort them as they struggle to understand.
Continue to do your videos sharing your faith. I am sure your are helping many in your you tube community who my be struggling and need God in there life.
