Thanks for the video. I have just bought one the same, but under a different brand name. As you mention, the instructions leave a lot to be desired. I contacted Toolstation customer services, where I bought it, to get some questions answered but they responded by saying they are not tech people and to contact the manufacturer. Have you figured out how to actually switch it off? I push the power button and it goes in to standby, but then never goes off. I also can't figure out how to set the humidity level I want as a constant - so when drying laundry the point at which I want the final humidity level. I was pleased to see you remove the tank and reinsert it with no issues. Mine takes about 30 seconds of fumbling to get it back in. I need to find the knack to slide it back in place.
I have mine plugged into a smart switch unit, so I turn it off when I go to work, and then turn it back on when I leave work and am on my way home from the Google home app. The unit switches itself off when it gets full all ok. Other than that I don't change any of the settings. You're probably better to set it up how you like and then turn it off at the wall. Mine remembers all the settings. Yes the tank isn't great, takes me a good 2-3 tries to get it to slide in sometimes!
I have also bought this dehumidifier under a different brand name too and came on TH-cam to watch a video on it as I too cannot turn mine off! I press the power button and the humidity display turns off but the power light is still on and the fans are still going. How bizarre. I ran it last night for the first time in the kitchen so I could keep an eye on it and it filled the container and stopped running. Excellent. I've bought it for my spare bedroom where my wardrobes are as I have to keep the wardrobe doors open to avoid my clothes getting mouldy and smelling damp. It's an old house so there isn't anything else I can do to improve the situation structurally. The reviews for this were so good on amazon I am hopeful it will solve the damp in the room.
