- Hey all,
Today I was super excited to see that my Betta Imbellis had fry.
Imbellis are an awesome introduction to wild bettas, and a species that I would certainly recommend to beginners.
Imbellis are a bubble nest spawner like domestic betta splendens, so if you have had success breeding domestic bettas, you may have success with these.

Youll do really well with them im sure Mary, fantastic fish. You can keep groups together too like 6 or 8

yeah they can be a super stunning fish if you catch them in the right light at the right time.
I'm trying to breed a pair right now. The female seems pretty aggressive. She once came up to the bubble nest and destroyed, and keeps running from the male
Have you ever experience similar behaviour ? They are in a pretty large , heavily planted tank ( 60 30 40 )
Ive never had that with imbellis but i have with splendens. Worth separating, reconditioning and then trying again
What temperature do you keep them at (when breeding)
25 deg c or 77 f

Will imbellis eat guppy fry or shrimp?
I doubt it. They are fast but their mouth is fairly small. They might get some newborns but guppies will soon grow too big
Can i ask why your imbellis fade color?
they change drastically across the day, to show dominance, show off to females etc. the colour comes and goes.
@@BlakesAquatics i also has imbellis and its half body only fade color. It doest change back to its original color for 2 weeks
Might need some more high quality food, a more suitable female or have a check of your water parameters to make sure hes happy

Can wild bettas breed with domestic bettas?
Most of them yes thats how domestic were made
