I love bettas. I've been seriously studying the various wild bettas. One of the things I was worried about was feeding and raising the fry. Great video, lots of good information. Green water and mulm, the way to go.

For bubble nesters, it works very well. The mouth brooder babies are big enough to eat bbs from the get go, so they are lots easier to raise.

I've found with my killifish fry that a 35mm petri dish is perfect for 3 or less newly hatched fry. They don't have to search far for food, and it's easy to change the water with a pipette.

A group of females can live with a male, these aren’t your domestic splendens that are very inbred and line bred for being more territorial.
Domestic bettas were inbred for many years, there was no genetic rescue so they slowly degenerated in terms of behaviors and health. When animals become very inbred, you will notice deficiency in their behaviors decrease as well as hereditary diseases that are not prevalent in wild bettas.
I hope wild bettas continue to be bred in captivity by responsible people who don’t breed sibling pairs for generations. Fish are more resistant to inbreeding but that doesn’t make inbreeding okay, as much as possible, people should aim for genetic diversity so these wild bettas retain their vigor and don’t end up like domestic splendens or other heavily inbred fish like neon tetras. That’s like breeding puppy litter mates with each other, unnecessary incest.
Sellers should also try their best to not sell sibling pairs(when people want a male and female) to reduce incest.
