Hello, merci d'avoir enfin réagi à rita mitsouko, un groupe complètement à part ,qui était extrêmement apprécier dans les années 80 et 90 jusqu'en 2000. Écouter le titre andy exceptionnel clips vidéos.
As native French speaker, I remember on the dance floor. Everybody shouting "lalala" every single time that song came. And it came every night in discotheque near the beach. In Spain. Full of French tourists.
You know that they made a song with Sparks « singing in a shower »? Cool video too. Catherine is still performing alas Fred Chichin died years ago…he was an excellent musician. I think they were a bit known in New York in the early 90´s. It was nice to see you enjoying our Dear Rita Mitsuko 😊
Catherine Ringer (the singer) is also amazing live. Actually her and the guitarist (fred Chichin) were married (he passed away few years ago), and now she's doing live concert with their son playing the guitar. You should try "Marcia Baïla" from the same band
Good for you guys going outside your comfort zone to choose something so different! I was listening to Les Rita Mitsouko in 1987 when I was a boarder with a French woman. Discothèque is pronounced Disco-TEK.
From what I understand, in France and other French-language areas this song is the equivalent of something like "Love Shack" -- a party song that everyone knows and sings along/dances to. Much better song though -- the chorus is a killer earworm. In a good way! And man, 80s videos were the best.
Best duo ever! I saw Catherine in concert 4 years ago and her voice is still so so strong. Of course, we all got up and danced when the band started C'est comme ça! The video was done by the fabulous Jean-Baptiste Mondino. By the way, you won't see them in concert because Fred died from cancer in 2007. It was such a sad moment.
The word is "discothèque" pronounced discotek) a French word but also an English word, although nobody uses it anymore apparently, and uses the shorter version "disco", or just "club". Disco music originally was called that because it was played in discotheques (discos).

So much happen in the 80s thanks to LES RITA MITSOUKO. First, director Jean Baptiste Mondino became a superstar after the video, he was hired by Prince and Madonna afterwards. Second, the song was the anthem of the new World Music revolution, the sound that mixed Rock, third world music and Pop. And third, the hip style of the band proved that there were cool music scenes outside of the English speaking world.
Unfortunately, guitarist Fred Chichin passed away years ago from cancer. Catherine Ringer, the singer, has a nice French solo career and plays the old Mitsouko songs often. This is perhaps my favorite music video of all time, it's awesome to watch people see it for the first time. (produced by Toni Visconti....who produced Bowie, Adam Ant, T. Rex....)

Hello there, nice to see you enjoy listening to a hit from Les Rita Mitsouko. No, French music is not only romantic ballads. I wish you in the USA had the opportunity to listen to foreign non-English-speaking music just as much as we in Europe enjoy enjoy listening to US artists. I bet you'd positively love (and you'd be astonished by) our musical production. Actually, in the 80's, I visited a Californian friend and I presented him with a tape of the Rita Mitsouko album featuring this hit "C'est comme ça" (meaning "that's the way it is". I wish you could understand the lyrics in French). My friend John was driving like mad as we were both howling the lyrics at the top of our voices! That was crazy and hilarious!

I didn't expect to see this band from my childhood here either. 🤣

these guys in the 80's were so big in Québec too! thanx for the reaction! it's a banger alright!🔥
Les Rita Mitsouko💖 ...How great is your reaction to this song...
I also had to grin the whole time when I saw it for the first time... Thank you
French rock experienced a golden age in the late 1980s - early 1990s.
I saw them in a club in Washington, DC, in 1988.
