  • Take 100% control of your axis! The scale you choose has a big impact on your visualizations. In this video I show you how to create a toggle button to switch between auto scaling and manual scaling with the option to have synced scales between charts. Additionally we'll build a zoom slider for the axis scale to enable users to enlarge fluctations (zoom in) when necessary.

    Hello Bas, thank you. Maybe for this video you also could mention the "Zoom Slider" that is an option in the Format pane. I just tried your solution and the build in zoom sliders. They work side by side, but I think it very confusing. Besides: the manual slicer seems to influence the build in slicer but not the other way.

    Needed this too. I’m in process of how to switch horizontal stacked bar chart numeric values to display text. So rather than the numeric value display…show a category name on the bar 🤔☺️

    Hello Bas, this is great! Thank you so much for this
    I have a question popped out, do you know how to control tick density for "Line and clustered column" chart?
    e.g., for a chart that has y-axis default tick as following: 0M, 2M, 4M, ..., 12M (increment by 2),
    I want to increase the density by having it increment by 1, so it will be 0M, 1M, 2M, 3M, and so on.
    Thank you

    Hey Bas, just found your channel and I love the presentation. I've been just using Tableau for about 7 years now and am just starting to learn PBI. Have a question for you...
    Could you show the PBI version of collapsible containers? IE - I click on something in a view, and that collapses the view I clicked on and brings up another view, and then if I click again I'm back to the view I first clicked on?
    Example use case: Bar chart showing total sales by segment. Clicking on a segment will show a list of all transactions for the last 7 days.

    Is there a way to do SCALE BREAK. We often have graph where one or two entries are off scale and break our reporting (ex: sales spikes in a specific period). What technique would you recommend to deal with such a situation? Oh and Log scale does not work for us...we really need to find a scale break solution.

    Hi Bas, thanks for the video, is there a way to fix the Y axis interval like 0, 5, 10, 15.....Millions rather than depending on Power BI automatic way

    • @kiranch7235
      @kiranch7235 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fixing the min and maximum is what you are showing but just want to know is there way we can decide the internal step(intervals)

    Really cool idea...but wouldn't it be better to use Bookmarks to hide the manual element when auto is selected?

    • @hi55us2
      @hi55us2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I thought that he was going to tackle it that way, but I like the approach of using filters better since bookmarks are such a pain to manage as things on the report get changed.

    • @paulgallagher2987
      @paulgallagher2987 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bookmarks are a real PITA to manage though. This way is much better imo.

    How does the measure to disable the slicer actually working

    • @jakubskotarek7792
      @jakubskotarek7792 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      with the measure "Range disable" indicated to display the values only if the option "Manual" was selected, that is, for 1. Otherwise, no data is passed to the sclier, so it displays nothing.
