I always wanted them to have a more fun relationship with Splinter. I was tired of the same teacher student thing(not that it’s bad but they deserve a more fleshed out bond)
Yeah, I really liked seeing Splinter bond with Mikey and share a fatherly moment with him, as compared to the other turtles, Splinter interacts with Mikey the least and hardly shares that much moments with him (especially in the 2012 series, where there was rare moments between Splinter and Mikey bonding). Which is sad because Mikey’s my favorite character in the franchise.

John Cho played Hikaru Sulu in the Kelvin Timeline Star Trek movies, and not even George Takei questioned it, plus Hoon Lee and Eric Bauza (the previous two Splinter's in animation) aren't of Japanese descent either and they still did a great job portraying him in two different of the Turtles' dad

I adore the Spider-verse inspired animation esthetic, but instead of going with a comic book style, it looks more like a graffiti, street art texture and design, absolutely perfect for our turtles

This movie has such a more grungy aesthetic which really complements the character designs of the turtles, the ferocious mutants, and the humans. And once again, the animation is stellar! The bright pops of color contrasting to the dark gritty background make for some great visuals. The fight scenes look well animated and the hand-drawn effects are done incredibly well. The character designs for each mutant are distorted and grotesque with slight face disfigurements that differ themselves from other iterations. Hearing more of the turtles’ voices in this trailer was great. Them being actual teenagers really complements the dark gritty environment and situation they’re facing, which helps them to add comedy as they might’ve never dealt with something like this before. This trailer was absolutely great and I can’t wait for more news! Thank you to the animation team, Paramount, the voice actors, and everyone involved for making this movie possible!

It's crazy how we are living in somehow like a golden era for animation industry. The quality of animated movies these days are more unique and animators are trying different things to give new flavors to it. I love it!
I feel like the greatest year for animation was probably 1988: Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Akira, My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, The Land Before Time, etc... And the 90s was the last dominant decade for hand-drawn animation while artists explored computer animation & revisited stop motion.
What makes them teens? they were raised by a rat in a sewer den and trained martial arts strictly. This is like the surfer dude stereotypical teen or like the stereotypical yo black guy teen. The teens they represent are pulled out of other cartoons.

It's a little detail but at 1:04 I love the fact that when Leo Blinks his mask doesn't blink with him. It's really reminiscent of the first live action film and I'm here for it!

@@Juice84 that is true to an extent, there are some older fans like myself (late 30s) who grew up with the original trilogy and cartoon series. TMNT has consistently made reboots for newer generations of kids so every age group has a series that they grew up with but generally the newest reboots, not including the Micheal Bay films, are targeted to younger audiences.
I think this version of Ralph is gonna be my new favourite iteration. The dudes clearly a hot head, but also cares about his family. All and all, it feels like a way more grounded version of the team. Can’t wait.
This felt like a 2010s movie in the best way possible. The way it made me feel is something I haven’t felt after watching a movie in around half a decade.
It’s honestly refreshing to see Baxter Stockman appearing in a TMNT movie, since most TMNT Films have mostly used The Shredder and The Foot Clan, and they don’t always execute them in the best way, I’m sure if the movie succeeds, it will lead to a franchise, as a long time Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, I’m genuinely excited.
I love this version already. It's a cool mix of previous takes on the Turtles, it's colorful and exciting, GORGEOUS, it has an actual teenage vibe and actors, they do feel young, naive, more childish like just into middle school- bro I'm definitely watching this
This looks like the Spiderverse of TMNT, and I'm all for that! So excited to see this movie. I'm not even a big Ninja Turtles fan, but this just looks like a fun time to me

This movie looks and feels like a quintessential TMNT film. They have all the gritty urban details of the early comics and yet the fun, goofy zaniness of the cartoons.
Every single thing about this looks _spectacular._ I love when there's a great take on the Turtles that makes them feel new and familiar all at once and this nails it!

This looks so awesome, the chemistry between the voice actors is great, and I find the idea of seeing what the Turtles were like when they were younger fascinating. I also love that actal teenagers are voicing them. Beyond all of that, this just looks like a hilarious, fun, exciting ride. I am really looking forward to seeing it!
I am loving the focus on the Teenage side of them as opposed to the ninjac side. They feel more like actual characters than ever before. I can't wait for this.

I'm absolutely digging what I'm witnessing, the animation style looks so cool in motion and I really love that the Turtles are ACTUALLY teenagers (unlike how 2K3 or Bayverse TMNT depicted them), I can't wait to see this one, been a fan since the original cartoon and live action trilogy. ❤
This entire movie looks utterly fantastic- the writing, the animation, the sheer style! I got into TMNT later than most but I am so so so excited to see this!
The important thing to know about TMNT, is that the original comics had two creators, one who loved gritty vigilantes, and the other who loved the Muppets. TMNT is the perfect synthesis of these two archetypes
Ice Cube is one of my favorite actors and the fact he’s voicing a new villainous mutant in this movie is so awesome!He even referenced one of his songs!

40 years, 4 shows, 5 movies, 14 graphic novels and now a brand new generation with a spiderverse version of the turtles where they also seem younger teenagers than in all the other TMNT generations by far which is a very cool and interesting twist!! it doesn't matter how old you are, TMNT is still bringing us together today with all their new generations and it never gets old so i look very forward to see this movie for my first time!!
Man, this looks so bonkers. The art style is absolutely blowing my mind, it's gorgeous. It's not just copying Spider-Verse's homework, it's taking what worked and doing its own thing. And it looks phenomenal and bizarre in a way that makes me shocked a major studio let it happen. Can't wait.

Honestly, I kinda love that Shredder doesn't seem to be the big bad. Going with Baxter Stockman as a main villain is a bold choice, but laying off of Shredder gives a sequel somewhere to go. Maybe introduce Krang as the final boss of a trilogy. I'm excited!
I'm especially looking forward to Giancarlo Esposito voicing Stockman for this movie. After Breaking Bad and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, this is a new phase he really needs.

I think this version of Ralph is gonna be my new favourite iteration. The dudes clearly a hot head, but also cares about his family. All and all, it feels like a way more grounded version of the team. Can’t wait.

This felt like a 2010s movie in the best way possible. The way it made me feel is something I haven’t felt after watching a movie in around half a decade.
It’s honestly refreshing to see Baxter Stockman appearing in a TMNT movie, since most TMNT Films have mostly used The Shredder and The Foot Clan, and they don’t always execute them in the best way, I’m sure if the movie succeeds, it will lead to a franchise, as a long time Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan, I’m genuinely excited.

I love this version already. It's a cool mix of previous takes on the Turtles, it's colorful and exciting, GORGEOUS, it has an actual teenage vibe and actors, they do feel young, naive, more childish like just into middle school- bro I'm definitely watching this
Agreed, the gritty textures reminded me so much of the original Eastman/Laird comics.
Best part of this movie is finding out they used a significantly lighter skin toned, April O’Neil action figure for their China marketing lol.

The turtles eyes going white when they get serious was one of the coolest things in the 2012 show i'm glad they brought it back

The fact that Gumball Watterson is voicing Leonardo has got me so hyped! As a person who has only seen the Michael Bay Turtle Movie (which was pretty bad) and the OG 1990 Turtle Movie (which was pretty awesome) I can't wait to see an animated Turtle movie on the big screen with actual voice actors portraying the characters! So excited!

This looks so awesome, the chemistry between the voice actors is great, and I find the idea of seeing what the Turtles were like when they were younger fascinating. I also love that actal teenagers are voicing them. Beyond all of that, this just looks like a hilarious, fun, exciting ride. I am really looking forward to seeing it!

I'm absolutely digging what I'm witnessing, the animation style looks so cool in motion and I really love that the Turtles are ACTUALLY teenagers (unlike how 2K3 or Bayverse TMNT depicted them), I can't wait to see this one, been a fan since the original cartoon and live action trilogy. ❤

The important thing to know about TMNT, is that the original comics had two creators, one who loved gritty vigilantes, and the other who loved the Muppets. TMNT is the perfect synthesis of these two archetypes
Seeing that there is no shredder in this movie probably means that we will get 1 or 2 more sequels of these.

40 years, 4 shows, 5 movies, 14 graphic novels and now a brand new generation with a spiderverse version of the turtles where they also seem younger teenagers than in all the other TMNT generations by far which is a very cool and interesting twist!! it doesn't matter how old you are, TMNT is still bringing us together today with all their new generations and it never gets old so i look very forward to see this movie for my first time!!
Man, this looks so bonkers. The art style is absolutely blowing my mind, it's gorgeous. It's not just copying Spider-Verse's homework, it's taking what worked and doing its own thing. And it looks phenomenal and bizarre in a way that makes me shocked a major studio let it happen. Can't wait.

Honestly, I kinda love that Shredder doesn't seem to be the big bad. Going with Baxter Stockman as a main villain is a bold choice, but laying off of Shredder gives a sequel somewhere to go. Maybe introduce Krang as the final boss of a trilogy. I'm excited!
I'm especially looking forward to Giancarlo Esposito voicing Stockman for this movie. After Breaking Bad and Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials, this is a new phase he really needs.
