I love the atmosphere of this hunt. Other final bosses and elder dragons are monsters capable of controlling weather and have unexplainable superpowers, being extremely dangerous. Ceadeus is just.... A giant bearded whale. Ceadeus is just hurt, and wants to alleviate its eye pain. And the only thing he can think of? Hitting itself against the rocks. The only real thing it has going for it it's its sheer size. Ceadeus doesnt even notice you that much and only tries to actively attack you when you have harassed it for minutes and cornered it. It's... Sad.

Ceadeus used Nostalgic Hydro Cannon... it's super effective!!! I was 12 when MH3 came out (my first Monster Hunter game 😊)... I remember shedding a tear of awe... at the sight of this Majestic Bearded Behemoth, that I was tasked with defeating... I had never seen such a beast... the music is what really got me... "O Good Hunter... thou must best this gigantic, ancient, bearded behemoth... UNDERWATER, to save this village and claim the title of a True Hero... good luck!" Now I'm 19, a Professional Hunter, and hunting beasts like him for breakfast! 😎

This was amazing, except that Megumi's singing was way too quiet relative to the music in Moonquake. In Lunar Abyss the vocals are backing, in Moonquake they're definitely meant to be the foreground.

I did not, however, achieve that effect with simply putting it on a louder level - because that's metal music and metal with loud vocals sound shitty and weak - but with frequencies, keeping its volume at a pleasant level.
The first elder dragon i ever fought in Monster Hunter, Tri was my very first game and this..i trembled and shed tears that night at how simply majestic this boss battle was. You helped me remember that experience, and the utter joy i felt at finding a new series to love!

I had no problem being underwater. I enjoyed it a lot. Unfortunately, it didn't agree with everyone else. So, the feature would never return. It's a shame too because that means that monsters who must live in water, such as Ceadeus , will not be seen again.

Qurupeco was like Gypceros done right. It's cool looking, has an interesing gimmick, it's based of cool animals and is a legit troll without feeling like it was literally created to be a troll.
O-M-G this is too good. you removed the serenity of the theme but perfectly made it into an epic one. if only people got good and didn't hate underwater combat. which I never had an issue with.
i miss underwater battles so much, as a lancer it was so enjoyable, fighting lagiacrus and ceadeus was a joy for me, i hope they will bring it back, i still play monster hunter tri on my old wii when i wanna remember my good old friend ceadeus... ps: i never had a wii u
I never had a problem with the underwater fights in fact I loved them. also I was never lucky enough to have any kind of circle pad just my original 3ds and skill allowed me to solo all of mh3u since I also didn't have a Wii U for online play lol.
I had zero problems playing without a CPP or New 3DS for underwater battles. Especially since I learned that you can hold B+Up/Down on the control stick to surface/dive continuously when underwater (even with the weapon out), making dodging and movement alot easier. Honestly, ledges have been more of an aggravation to me over underwater combat, and this is playing mainly SnS in all games that I've played.
This is some great earcandy to listen to before bed. My beard is surely trembling this evening. Thanks, FalKKonE for the awesome mix and bringing up some awesome memories.

Ever wonder if maybe the horns aren't supposed to be misshapen? What if the Caedeus you fight is in pain because one of it's horns aches so much and it was ramming the wall in an attempt to alleviate the pain when it peaked? Perhaps you not only save Moga Village, but in a way save the Caedeus from a life filled with agony?
Megumi has a lovely voice! Ceadeus's theme has never been too exiting in my opinion, but the metal backing really gives it the impact it should have deserved (well that and a more interesting behavior, but that's not for here).

I wondered why the wait took so long, but after listening to this all that time is justified (especially since it's right after that bitchin Deviant theme). This is so amazing, my eyes haven't even dried from listening to the Deviant theme cover, but since this was my first elder dragon fight, the emotions are overwhelming!!
The transition from the Chase theme into Moonquake was everything it needed to be, and the fact that you turned such a beautiful track into something so metal is astounding... But when you take something that sounds mystifying and reverent, and DJENT THE FUCK OUT OF IT, it sorta loses that feeling, you know? I still give it 9/10. Because I love me some Djent, and Ceadeus was one of my favorite fights.

As much as I despised water fights due to the slow pace and the fact that monsters can easily make distance between blademasters in the water, I really enjoyed the Ceadeus fight. I've tried several weapons, such as dual blades, gunlance, sword & shield, and greatsword to name a few, and each hunt turned out surprisingly well. Like how the Magalas came back in Gen being the only monster that can frenzy, Ceadeus should come back being the only monster you can fight in water or something like that.
Both Miralis and Ceadeus should have underwater elements! It would feel wrong without it! ...also it would be a fantastic excuse to get my fav monster back again! PLESIO- Just kidding he can litterally die in a fire. *CEADEUS*
Making any exceptions to how marine monsters could return without water mechanics would greatly contradict how they function and how we'd hunt them. That's likely the reason why Capcom just outright did away with the idea. Fighting Ceadeus in a Jhen-like battle wouldn't feel as fantastic of an experience as it was fought completely underwater in MH3/MH3U because it'd just feel like a rehashed Jhen fight. They were trying to get Lagiacrus to work in a test development for MHW. Unfortunately they couldn't due to not just it's body structure, but also the fact that there wasn't enough water to keep it. If we'd want to ever see our beloved Ceadeus and other marine monsters make a comeback in the future, the water would have to return.
Nall Calmer they could make a swamp area. That way, they can bring back a few other monsters, like Gobul, Royal Ludroth, Lagi, etc. Kind of like the Japan area in MHGEN!(forgot the name of the place.
Very intensely extremely beautifully done. The Wii num-chuk days will forever be remembered for me. They need to bring back underwater combat and swimming.
Ceadeus also has one of the most beautiful fighting zone. I was in awe the first time i entered it. Witnessing Ceadeus in its majestic form in the underwater ruins.

hmmm...i actually finished the online before the solo on MH3 (not the U one)...so it was kind of easy with the upgraded Alatreon stuff...my friends fault, he was so excited to play when we bought the game together that he finished the solo mode before me and forced me to play online right away. '_' so i had to start with nothing xD
Boy this makes me miss MH3. Best game in the series in my opinion. There were only 3 returning monsters. Every other monster was new and interesting. You never knew what you'd fight next.

Im rather split ... I LOVE Ceadeus! Since its my first ever Elder dragon fight! ...but No one can deny that Dire Miralis is amazing! I cant pick... I love them both equally!
As a whole, I would have to say my favorite is the Mountain God of Chaos and Punishment: Shagaru Magala. It has a great theme, an excellent design, difficult fight, and interesting lore. For some reason the intro for Shagaru in 4U has always made me think that Shagaru is looking for a challenger. A challenger worthy of perpetuating the cycle of rebirth so that it can ultimately begin anew.
Not gonna lie, I was a little sceptical about how this one would turn out. But holy crap, this sounds amazing! You never fail to impress me. I wish you all the best, man. Thank you.

In my opinion, the metal revamp of this theme is more chilling, with the amazing vocals behind it.
Not to mention, it would make the "Crap-Your-Pants" factor so much more if THIS played while swimming around and fighting Ceadeus.

As much as I despised water fights due to the slow pace and the fact that monsters can easily make distance between blademasters in the water, I really enjoyed the Ceadeus fight. I've tried several weapons, such as dual blades, gunlance, sword & shield, and greatsword to name a few, and each hunt turned out surprisingly well. Like how the Magalas came back in Gen being the only monster that can frenzy, Ceadeus should come back being the only monster you can fight in water or something like that.
Both Miralis and Ceadeus should have underwater elements! It would feel wrong without it!
...also it would be a fantastic excuse to get my fav monster back again! PLESIO- Just kidding he can litterally die in a fire. *CEADEUS*

Making any exceptions to how marine monsters could return without water mechanics would greatly contradict how they function and how we'd hunt them. That's likely the reason why Capcom just outright did away with the idea. Fighting Ceadeus in a Jhen-like battle wouldn't feel as fantastic of an experience as it was fought completely underwater in MH3/MH3U because it'd just feel like a rehashed Jhen fight. They were trying to get Lagiacrus to work in a test development for MHW. Unfortunately they couldn't due to not just it's body structure, but also the fact that there wasn't enough water to keep it. If we'd want to ever see our beloved Ceadeus and other marine monsters make a comeback in the future, the water would have to return.
Nall Calmer they could make a swamp area. That way, they can bring back a few other monsters, like Gobul, Royal Ludroth, Lagi, etc. Kind of like the Japan area in MHGEN!(forgot the name of the place.

Ceadeus also has one of the most beautiful fighting zone. I was in awe the first time i entered it. Witnessing Ceadeus in its majestic form in the underwater ruins.

hmmm...i actually finished the online before the solo on MH3 (not the U one)...so it was kind of easy with the upgraded Alatreon stuff...my friends fault, he was so excited to play when we bought the game together that he finished the solo mode before me and forced me to play online right away. '_' so i had to start with nothing xD

Boy this makes me miss MH3. Best game in the series in my opinion. There were only 3 returning monsters. Every other monster was new and interesting. You never knew what you'd fight next.

They would have to make up for the lackluster phase 1 though. And I mean more than they did in Phase 2. Give us the true power of this baby/adult whale.

As a whole, I would have to say my favorite is the Mountain God of Chaos and Punishment: Shagaru Magala. It has a great theme, an excellent design, difficult fight, and interesting lore.
For some reason the intro for Shagaru in 4U has always made me think that Shagaru is looking for a challenger. A challenger worthy of perpetuating the cycle of rebirth so that it can ultimately begin anew.
I fought at least 60 trying to get one gem so ceadeus holds a special place in my heart
you never disappoint!
