If you ever come to Canada we have most of those French brands in our drugstores/pharmacies here too (La Roche Posay, Avène, Nuxe, Bioderma, Lierac, Klorane, etc.). Klorane makes wonderful eye patches with cornflower and other soothing botanical ingredients that feel sooo nice and refreshing under the eyes!
***** You should be able to find most of those brands at Shopper's Drug Mart (definitely the Nuxe and Bioderma), but SDM is known as 'Pharmaprix' in Quebec. And if you are into makeup at all, Pharmaprix/SDM (the ones with the special beauty boutique counters) also carry the Bourjois line! :) Happy shopping!
I was surprised to find out just last night that SDM sells the Embryolisse on their website (I don't usually look at the site apart from flyers occasionally, for some odd reason). I've never seen it at my local Shoppers. Good to know.
@@royaltiri Embryolisse seems to be only available at the beauty boutiques versions of SDM. That being said, it still seems to be a sold out product. You can also buy Embryolisse at Urban Outfitters, at least here in Vancouver.
Even we, parisians, go to CityPharma because it's cheaper than other pharmacies :) But it's true that you can find those products almost anywhere ! And it's "cica" like you pronounced it the first time :) like "cicatrice" that translates to 'scar'
I was in Paris in July this year visiting my sister, she discovered a pharmacy at the La Defense stop on the metro line 1. Priced very similarly to citipharma and a much more pleasant shopping experience. X
I know this pharmacy and La Défense is extremely busy. You shouldn't go there on Wednesdays, Fridays or Saturdays, these are the busiest days. I went there on a Saturday and I couldn't get my nephew's cream because there were too many people and the pharmacists were all very busy. I had to go to a smaller pharmacy (I only went there because I was at the mall in La Défense). If you find pharmacies to be too expensive, you should go to a parapharmacy, they're inside shops like Leclerc or Carrefour and they're cheaper
The thing about City Pharma is that they have the same products as any other pharmacy but it's much cheaper than anywhere else! That's why it's always crowded, not because of what they sell, but for their prices. Btw the good way to pronounce 'cica' is the 1st you tried haha, with a real 'C' sound. I'll keep in mind this Lierac eye cream!
Got the Effaclar Duo+ after your recommendation a while ago. I absolutely love it! I usually layer it underneath my moisturiser at night and annoying spots would disappear by morning. My skin's been a lot better thanks to you!
Love watching your videos Ruth - always makes my day better! More products to drool over, you lucky thing. Yes please, always love haul vids, from whatever country. Your golden colour did show very well on camera btw.
What do you think of those thermal sprays? Avene, Vichy and LRP all do them. But how are they used properly? I got a few as free gifts, and I have tried using them instead of a toner or on top of powder to make a look appear less cakey, buy in either case I find the spray dries out my skin quite severely to an uncomfortable degree (which is funny because I have acne and combo skin).
You are too beautiful! I really like your skincare/beauty recommendations! I respect that you take the one to reply to comments, too. It's very rare that a TH-camr does that! So for those reasons, you have a new subbie!
Hi Ruth gtc2, thanks for the info on French pharmacy beauty things to try, and thanks for the links for those of us that can't make the trip to France to purchase these on line. The bronze look suits you, I will look for that video next. TTFN
I'm a Parisienne and i can guarantee you that CITYPHARMA has the LOWEST price tag in all Paris pharmacies and they have amazing offer of products ( get 2 for the price of one, etc) all the time. So despite the fact that they are always crowded which is nothing compare to all those amazing products you at the lowest price, Citypharma simply is the only place we Parisienne like to stock up on skin care products.
Hi Ruth ! Thank you for filming this video, it couldn't have been uploaded at a better time :) I'm going to France on Saturday and I can't wait to have a little look around a few pharmacies (hopefully I won't spend too much money, but you never know) !
I use the Nuxe lip balm all the time..it's the best ever! I want to buy a new hydrating face cream and I really like French skincare brands.. Do you have any suggestions? I''m 31, my skin is normal but at the moment it's a little dehydrated...
I went this past May and while the prices were the best...I would recommend going straight in the morning and with a list and know what you want. If you want to browse City Pharma should be avoided. Or just be happy to grab a few things for the hell of it to try. I love everything I bought which included that lovely lip balm.
Hi Ruth! I am French and I just subscribe to your channel, I think you look beautiful! I love french pharmacy products, La Roche Posay Effaclar K saved me from my adult acné! I wear also Vichy face sunscreen with dry touch it's perfect because you can put your normal makeup on after putting that cream! Anyway, those products are the best. Now I live in Italy since I married an italian and thanks God they sell most of those products! Or else I ask my family! Big hugs to you!
I've used the Hydra bio for two months now... more or less and I can say it really works it's great, Italy hast a huge problem the water is really really heavy once you wash your face it feels like cardboard and this product had really helped me get rid of that sensation, I use it with the face soap always from Bioderma Sebium Gel moussant and it works great it also helps for oily skin ;)
What face cleanser would you recommend for oily and acne prone teenage skin iv"e tried many low end and a few high end products but none seem to do me any good?!?!? i really enjoy watching your videos!!!!!!!
Hi, Ruth! I'm French. My sisters and I have tried all of the Bioderma solutions micellaires, we all have different skin types and we all prefer the one with a red cap. I have combination to oily, dehydrated skin that's prone to acne. The blue one leaves a residue on my skin and does not remove make up properly and the green one is way too harsh. I find it drying. Let me know what you think ;)
I wish I had seen this video BEFORE I was in Paris about two months ago... But now I at least have a good excuse for going back there soon, I need to try some of these things out! ;)
Hi Ruth, Kind of wondering if the Cica cream you feature here is like Cicaplast from La Roche Posay and Cicalfate from Avene, because if it is, it is rather dehydrating and they are creams recommended to apply on scars to help the skin heal better (recommended after a surgery for example). Let me know what you think ;)
You're skin is beautiful. I have always frowned as I was stressed young etc. Any idea for 11s or frown lines? I know botox, but I am not into that, do you think of one of you have those? Also what is a good French undereye concealer (if you answer questions) you are magnificent
I really like the Delarom Aquaconfort Mask, it's a 15 minute moisturiser mask. I got a sample in birch box a while a go. Mostly I use it around my eye area when I'm using annother mask on the rest of my face.
I just came back not too long ago from my post graduation trip through Europe! I wish I had seen this video beforehand! I kept walking into pharmacies and looking around but I was overwhelmed and had no idea what to buy. I should have looked more closely at the skincare rather than browsing the makeup.
I was in Barcelona a week ago and I was happy to find that most of the french pharmacy brands was stocked by spansh pharmacies as well. I live in Sweden, and they're even most difficult to find here.
Anything by Nuxe is lovely. And Caudalie! Both you can get in the US ( if that's where you are) but at a much higher price tag. Hope it's not bad form to tell you Lisa Eldridge also has a city pharma video.
I've been to city pharma in Jun; of course it was crowded, like I've read about everywhere; you have to have patience and a shopping list when you go in there, you cannot just "browse" the shelf because the space is tight and there are a lot of people. the prices are slightly cheaper than in the other usual pharmacies, so if you want to buy a lot of stuff from home it will worth the struggle :) ahh, and send your boyfriend/husband to a cafe nearby (there are a lot) for a beer, he won't understand the whole "city pharma experience" :)
Looove the nuxe reve de miel lipbalm! It's amazing! I get really cracked corners of the lips because i lack some vitamins in the summer (weird) and it's the only lipbalm that allows me to wear my crazy lipsticks without looking like i've eaten some people haha. Loved your purchases😍
Hi. Sorry but that last product…. - which you mention as your favorite spot kinda treatment - what is the name? Can't find it anywhere. I think I need this product in my life! :)
I love this channel :D i dont know if its weird to ask for advice hehe but i had a bit of a hair emergency and i got a full head of blonde highlights which went yellow at the top and ginger at the bottom and the bleach gave me split ends and i really dont know wat to do to fix it ive been growing my hair out for 7 months and i dont want to hav to cut it all of an start again but i dont know how to fix the split ends i also want to dye over the highlights back brown but people keep saying my hair will go green lol is there anything i cn do oh and i got biotin pills so my hair wil grow faster do these work ?
Always go for Parapharmacies, they are cheaper and the staff will not be busy with filling up prescriptions. Sadly because they are not regulated, prices vary, and one needs to shop around.
I live in France but I find our french skincare more attractive only when you talk about it lol I have a recommandation for you, you should try URIAGE Hyséac cleansing water, it smell soo good, very refreshing and matifying for oily skin. I like it more than bioderma ;)
I'm going to France on Sunday for the second time this year, I didn't get loads of stuff last time in Paris but I'm going to the South now and I'm planning on filling my suitcase with Bioderma 😊
M&S has Nuxe products in stock, not the whole range but the lip balm and nuxe prodigieuse oil ( which is absolutely amazing) are there which makes me very happy :)
did anyone ever tried the nuxe reve de miel lip stick?? I have it and its ok, no magic, so i wanted to know if the balm in the pot is better/different?
Hi ! I use the balm and it's really good :) I put a good portion of it on my lips before going to sleep and when i wake up my lips are super smooth ! Also i agree with you, the lipstick was moisturizing but not enough for me sadly
i was in citypharma in march. had the same busy experience and it's really so small in there! not a pleasure to browse through the shelves because you're always standing in the way... :( but the prices are unbeatable! you can get bioderma sensibio micellar water, nuxe rêve de miel and la roche posay serozinc for a third of the price that you have to pay in luxembourg or germany... craaaazy! ^_^
oh honey u look younger and youthful every time u upload. u look so glowy! what products did u use today? it looks so natural i dont even think u used much! lots of love!
I agree you with so much Ruth re: City Pharmacy. I never understood why it has to be THAT one in particular, instead of say ANY pharmacy in Paris/France/Continent. I always end up at City Pharma because of the prices. I go in and out; browsing can be really hard and quite annoying; so I do recommend doing the browsing elsewhere. x
I'm going to South west France. Does anyone know a pharmacy group I should try to find or is it better to seek out small independent pharmacies for things like Bioderma and Reve de Miel?
I'm never without Serozinc toner, it's 5 EUR here in Nice. Wondering why more people don't stock up on Darphin products, they are amazing and less than half the price compared to north america
I think it's weird how especially Americans seem to think that you can only get those French pharmacy brands ONLY in Paris and ONLY in this particular pharmacy! I live near the French border and get my stuff at this tiny town in a tiny pharmacy - it's just as cheap!
If you ever come to Canada we have most of those French brands in our drugstores/pharmacies here too (La Roche Posay, Avène, Nuxe, Bioderma, Lierac, Klorane, etc.). A Model Recommends a lot cheaper actually (pharmacies can sell their products any price tag they want, so it depends on the area you go too)

I really need to do another french skincare haul, absolutely adore the pharmacies in Paris! You look beautiful in this video Ruth x
You know, I was being lazy and about to sleep but then I saw your video up and said I have to really remove my makeup and do my night routine..
Oh good!! Well done. Goodnight! x
SAME HERE!!! :P
Love watching your videos Ruth - always makes my day better! More products to drool over, you lucky thing. Yes please, always love haul vids, from whatever country. Your golden colour did show very well on camera btw.

angelfoodcake1979 thermal sprays are best used underneath serums or moisturizers because they provide an extra layer of moisture : )

Ruth, I think the Nuxe is a lip treatment. The one I have is grainy and you're supposed to "scrub" you lips with it, not use it as a balm.

I''m 31, my skin is normal but at the moment it's a little dehydrated...
Yes Ruth! This video has come at perfect timing. I've booked Paris for early September. (Let the spending commence!)x

I'm in France at the moment so this is really helpful! And there really are loads of pharmacies wherever you look!!x
In German pharmacies you can get Brands like physiogel ( embryolisse ), la roche posay, Avene, eucerin , caudalie.
Bioderma in some pharmacies.
Hi Ruth I have very sensitive dry skin I was wondering if you recommend a French pharmacy cleanser for me please :)

Always go for Parapharmacies, they are cheaper and the staff will not be busy with filling up prescriptions. Sadly because they are not regulated, prices vary, and one needs to shop around.
I loved this Ruth! It wasn't boring in the slightest :)
Love your makeup ... You're glowing ! Simple, nice, healthy !!

A Model Recommends that's why everyone goes there, it is the cheapest in Paris.
Got the serozinc recently myself also on a recommendation I saw Caroline Hirons make. Haven't tried it yet but must get started! 😁
oh honey u look younger and youthful every time u upload. u look so glowy! what products did u use today? it looks so natural i dont even think u used much! lots of love!
Please, which Embryolisse is it? I live in America, and I'm trying to get the right one from Amazon.
I agree you with so much Ruth re: City Pharmacy. I never understood why it has to be THAT one in particular, instead of say ANY pharmacy in Paris/France/Continent. Even here in Portugal, the pharmacies stock pretty much the same brands/products, but in a less supermarket/constricted/crowded environment. I'm glad somebody finally said it. Though to be fair, the other pharmacies probably would be more surprised at people buying 5 of everything, than the assistants at City Pharm. XD
Hi. Where can I find more information about the Effaclar Duo sets? Thanks.
There are also other pharmacies with good discounts that aren't crowded at all. I normally go to one on Rue de la Pompe which is not that far from the Eiffel tower. No tourist there... :)
do you have the link to the Telegraph bronzing video? I might be missing it but I don't see it above. thanks!

I've been looking for La Roche Posay Seronzinc for ages!!..guess i need to get on a plane to France!
Are you in Europe? easyparapharmacie.com will post to Europe (and maybe other places - I didn't check). They sell the Seroznic for about 5 euros.
I live in Australia :( but i have a brother travelling to Europe soon so I'll make him get some haha
does bioderma sensibio H2O work well for removing eyemakeup?
Really like the bronzed look!! I want to go out and by all the things you used for that :) It´s going to be expensive ;)
Happy weekend
Hi Ruth, I also love Serozinc, which I have been using for over a year, since I heard Caroline recommend it. I get it from Farmaline.be which I checked and as far as I can see also deliver to the UK (though I myself live the "The Continent").
Wow you're so tanned, what have you used ? Xx
Have a look at that Telegraph video I did, I layered on loads of stuff! Mr AMR laughed when he saw how tanned I was! x
Hehe, I think it looks gorgeous. I was hoping you'd just say "one facial tanning product" (so I could go and buy it tomorrow 😉) - but I shall go and search for the Telegraph video now - thank you Ruth x 🌺

I just got back from Paris today, the pharmacies are amazing! They are everywhere haha :)
I'm never without Serozinc toner, it's 5 EUR here in Nice. Wondering why more people don't stock up on Darphin products, they are amazing and less than half the price compared to north america
You can buy all the products in Spain too.
You can get the La Roche Posay "Serozinc" from easyparapharmacie.com. They ship to europe, at least.

Did not know formula for effacler duo different is US! Good to know.
I think it's weird how especially Americans seem to think that you can only get those French pharmacy brands ONLY in Paris and ONLY in this particular pharmacy! I live near the French border and get my stuff at this tiny town in a tiny pharmacy - it's just as cheap!
I bought the la Roche posay kit and I'm regreting it. didn't work for me
been waiting to hear about french care for a while!
Loads of sales on Bioderma, Embryolisse on the Escentual's website at the moment! 20% off.
You look beautiful Ruth!
I think you lost that battle with the bag
: )
SomeGirlMel Lol true
FYI, in Spain you can get all these brands in any pharmacy... just in case you're here on holiday! ;P
