I love how Majima doesn't say Kiryu chan when he sees kiryu. It's just a pure, genuine smile and happiness, he doesn't joke around at all, and his smile isn't his crazy smile
Yeah, I thought I'd hear that "Kee-ryuuuu chan"
Coz from the end of Yakuza 6 up until that point in time, he and everyone else legitimately believed Kiryu was dead. Kiryu and Majima have such history as best frenemies for so long that I wouldn't have been surprised if Majima shed tears at that point. What I really want to see is what he does AFTER all this BS with Ichiban is done, does he actually go find Kiryu for a throwdown or what :P

@@imranrazif1926 Nope. Yakuza 7 takes place WAY after 6. It is a literal sequel.
He was having an internal screaming of "Kiryu Chan" to his head.
So basically: After Yakuza 6 Kiryu is no longer tied down by the plot and finally accepts the fact that he is the paragon of Cool.
He's still hiding away after later parts of this game. There's a scene that hints on passing the torch to Ichiban

Given that everyone is insane these days, someone will probably yell "SJW!" or "woke!" or whatever for this, but to me what they should have done is build up Haruka as his successor - she was always around anyway and kinda had the personality for it (she definitely knew how to handle Kiryu). That would have provided more of a clean cut from "it's kinda a different guy but still sorta similar so not really that different". Of course that wasn't really an option anymore after Y5 (at least in my opinion).
@SSJ Tbh I wouldn't have seen Haruka as a classic yakuza. More like the Kiryu-type who always gets drawn into Yakuza business (as happens to her anyway) - just, you know, as a protagonist instead of a side character. As the series has shown there's usually plenty of other people that are sorta in the periphery involved anyway.
And of course it'd also (in this hypothetical scenario) build up a bit to it through Y5 and maybe Y6 also, so it would have some reasonable background to it.
I'd also add that this is a highly fictionalized Yakuza culture we get here, and there's plenty comparable Japanese media that does this involving female characters too, and I can't say it ever really felt out of place to me. You could say it's a bit of a modern myth - but also as far as I've read a historic fact, even if there aren't any today.

I think it would be more likely with yakuza 8 returning to brawler combat and Ichiban wants to get stronger and not rely on his friends so much, here we can have an old shibusawa act as a mentor figure

The color scheme for Ichiban as well as his tattoo definitely show this is what Nishiki could have been if he never crossed the line.

He honestly shouldn’t for a couple of reasons. Kiryu is just another guy to him instead of the god to most of his fans. Well actually, Watase knows Kiryu. First, he's a senior Omi member, and these kinds of members know the legend of the Dragon of Dojima. Second, they've met in Yakuza 5, and actually fought with each other on top of the Kamurocho Hills hotel. But how did they exactly met again? I have no idea.

@@gamememories3349 What bugs me the wrong way is that Yakuza 6 shoud have been a big deal, like the final farewell to Kiryu....this seems like a huge waste. I was fine with treating Kiryu as a secret boss or something, but including him in the story like THIS.....it's just wrong.

Kiryu showing up doesn't break the deal between Kiryu and The Politician. The Politician just want Kiryu to hush about the politician secret. The part where Kiryu pretend to be death is just reassurance for the deal.
I think the story's author wanted Kiryu to leave at the end of that game, and wrote it fully intending to have him disappear for good, as a sign of his sacrifice
But then the suits likely said something along the lines of "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING, YOU ABSOLUTE DUMBASS. THAT MAN IS THE FACE OF YOUR FUCKING FRANCHISE. THERE IS NO YAKUZA WITHOUT HIM, AND THERE WILL BE NO MONEY FOR YAKUZA 7 IF HE ISN'T IN IT"

While I'm still unfamiliar with Yakuza 7's story besides Ichiban and his crew trying to survive, I'm just happy to see Kiryu and the others from previous games. Fighting them in combat's a consequence that I'll have to live with if I play this game. I do wonder what became of Haruka, her fellow orphans, and her son Haruto, however.
If you're not allergic to RPG, you should definitely try this game.

I haven't played that game, but I heard that it's a masterpiece.
Yakuza 7 is not that complicated for a JRPG, so I think you'll get used to it fast
@@gamememories3349 Customizing characters in Knights of the Old Republic was difficult for me at times, but choosing and upgrading Force Speed, Force Heal, Force Immunity, and Saber Throw while having many healing items available helped me survive most battles regardless of character build. Use that advice well.

I love the version of Receive You that plays during Kiryu's reveal. It's such a nice return to the original version of the song and it nails the atmosphere of the scene.

He disn't. He just had a body double. The Joon Gi Han you're saying is a man named Kim, he underwent plastic surgery to look just like Joon, but they're not alike in personality, which made him the black sheep of the Jingweon.
To make matters worse, the original died when he was supposed to die, him being the double and all.

Daigo and Arakawa were worried that the entire Omi Alliance being present in Sotenbori would've been too much for them to handle. I highly doubt that is the case when you have Kiryu, Majima and Saejima all together in the same room. It's really overkill.

For those asking isn't Kiryu exposing himself since he's the Legendary Dragon of Dojima, not necessarily cuz the Yakuza world knows the name of Kiryu but not all know what he looks like. They don't go around giving photos of Kiryu to every new Yakuza recruit.
Its been an ongoing thing from the beginning of the series that most people don't recognise him by looks but knows him by name & the legends talked about him. Its evident that even some higher ups in the Yakuza world don't know what he looks like until they meet him for example even Ryuji Goda didn't know he was talking to the real Kiryu until he raided the Omi HQ.
It won't be hard to cover up this event cuz this is a Private event so no Yakuza is gonna report to the police & even if they told them their higher ups like Watase & Daigo can deny this allegation of Kiryu's existence.
They just went full shounen with this one. Helps that Ichiban seems to be a total fanboy.

I think on yakuza 8 we need new mad dog since kiryu pass his torch to ichiban as new dragon and yakuza 8 have sistem like yakuza 0 when 2 protagonist ichiban and the new mad dog will defeat the same enemy with their own way bonus fan service with old dragon and old mad dog work together

@@gamememories3349 yeah it's usually only the adventure, battle, minigame, karaoke, opening and credits music. Most of the substory and cutscene music never gets released, which means that sadly, this may be the only version of Receive You that we'll never get unless someone rips the audio from the cutscene.
