I've been losing my mind waiting for someone on the planet to make a video on this guitar and seeing this video pop up in the search results made me have a meltdown
I just found this channel. I've already watched a half a dozen of your reviews; I like them better than any other ones I've seen. Clay is also quite personable. A very 'real' person.
Well the optional blend circuit consists in a resistor and a diagram... It’s NOT an extra prewired control plate like I got with my Custom Shop Double Esquire. The neck is fat but not as fat as my 2016 Classic 50 Tele or 10/56 V and Nocaster neck profiles I’ve played. The taller frets make it easy to play and although the radius is 7,25 I have not been able to tell a difference with the Original 50 Tele that has the same frets but a 9,5 fretboard radius. The broadcaster sounded brighter when plugged in but not in a bad way. 2200€ is starting to get expensive for a standard production so deciding between that broadcaster and a NOS 52 tele from the Custom Shop might be a concern for those willing to shell out that amount of money on a blackguard Tele.
I'm still in love with my 2011 avri '52 Tele, but if I had the money, I would jump on one of these in a heartbeat ! I would definitely fit the proper Broadcaster circuit 👌
They’re daylight and dark, and I mean that in a good way. What are you looking for in a tele? Also consider the neck shape... the Ultra is fast and slim. The Broadcaster is a big U... BIG by comparison. Consider the color selection also. Then think about how much you plan on collecting the guitar for a potential future sale (my guess is the broadcaster takes that one). And the last thing to think about is the wiring situation. You can swap out the wiring in the broadcaster to have a totally different type of telecaster if you aren’t wanting the same traditional wiring as other teles. Hope this helps and thanks!!
When I first picked up the ultra I really liked it. Then I tried the broadcaster out and when I went back to the ultra I didn't like it. Everything feels too thin and contoured for me. I like to fight with my guitars a little bit. I ended up buying the broadcaster and I love it. Both great guitars though!
Evidently only 250 of these limited edition broadcasters are being made like the original. Price starts at $1999.00 US. Available in 4 different custom shop aging packages. The colour is lighter than the original but the original can be had for around the $ 148,000 US. 😜 Yes Clay it is a 2 piece off set ash body.
@@jamesdickinson5173 according to rhe fenddr website it states limited to 2020, doesnt say units so indication may be its 250 as is how many originals were believed to have been made back in the day, but then if its 2020 units, its not too limited is it?
The spacing of the dots at the 12th fret is not period correct, too wide. The colour of the guitar is also not correct. I have seen pictures of new Broadcasters taken in 1950 and none of them was this pale. Ofcourse this is a marketing thing but I think it’s way overpriced too for a production guitar. If you throw in 500/700 more you can get your hands on a brand new Custom Shop Telecaster.

I hope that means you dig it, lol. Thanks for watching!
I would love to see this channel grow!
That makes two of us! Thanks!

I really appreciate that. Thank you a ton!
Thats the reason I subd after watching 2 episodes, Clays "cool" (lol) personality.
Can’t thank you guys enough. I really really mean that.
You could also mention the rounder radius.

It’s limited to 2020 units , looks killer!!!

Nice video...It would have been great to hear the guitar a little though.
I agree! We are working on it for future videos! Promise! 😊
Uh... why not plug it in?
What does it sound like?
I really love this guitar, however at $2000 you can get a used Fender Custom shop Esquire, witch should be more historically acurate
I want one!!!
PLEASE THE SOUND
they should have wired it like the broadcasters, to make it correct.
I think I would have offered the original telecaster circuit as the option and just wired these up like the broadcaster right out of the case
I was ready to order a new Ultra but now I don’t know what to do
Any suggestions and why?

Any idea what the weight of this guitar is? Thanks
I didn’t weigh it, but it felt like a low 8 pound guitar. I’ll start putting that Info in future videos. Thanks!
Clay is correct Okie, they are around the low 8 lb mark.
they're making 2020 units.
Does this include all models? Standard, custom shop & relics?

*drum roll please*..... COOL! 😂. That neck needs to be played. It has a very unique feel to it... being a U neck on a tele.
2020 made I think , not 250 .

More videos please Clay! It snowed in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada so riding the HD is on hold right now. Thank you.
We’ve fired up the video machine again! We are still here! We’ve posted a few in the last couple of weeks. More on the way and thank you!
Lmao $1k for the guitar $1k for the Broadcaster decal and marketing.
BEEN NICE IF YOU HAD PLUGGED IT IN , WHY REVIEW A GUITAR YOU CANT HEAR?
Why ? You didn't play the guitar 🤦🏻♀️
Why the hell was the demo all talk? Waste of time
Not a single effing note played.... 🤦♂️
A guitar review with out plugging the guitar in. How useless is that?

The price is roughly correct - in 1950 the Broadcaster was $189; adjusting for inflation it would be around $2,000 today.
