There seem to be a lot of similarities between this game and the "Aliens" arcade game released by Konami two years later. Beyond the off-brand Xenomorphs in the last few levels of "Super Contra", some of the explosions and not-standard-Xenomorph-aliens look similar in both games. Makes me wonder if "Aliens" (the 1990 Konami game) started out as a game in the Contra series, before Konami got the "Aliens" license rights midway through development and retooled some half-finished "Super Contra II" game into a licensed "Aliens" game.

Player is using the invincible frames you have when getting a weapon pickup. If you're not watching in 60fps, you wouldn't be able to tell the character is flashing and briefly invulnerable.
Are you kidding me the graphics sucked compared to the arcade. The gameplay and levels are the same but the graphics were much better in the arcade. I guess you think Ikari Warrios was better on the NES than the arcade also.

Ikari Warriors NES port is a failed effort, because it tried to preserve the arcade style control which is impossible on a NES controller, while it didn't improve anything in level design, and the music is downgraded too. Super C NES port, on the other hand, simplified the controls, refined all the levels and even added plenty of new ones, and have a carefully remixed soundtrack that fits the NES style.
Shut up I'm not putting words in other peoples mouth but it just seems that the NES fan boys think all the games on the NES was superior to anything else and they just weren't.

個人的にスーパー魂斗羅(AC版)のデモのパンダココア(なんだここは?)等の音声がカットされてたのが気になる。あれがあってのスパ魂なのに(悲哀)!
2-4のボスの回避方法とか、知らないパターンがあって非常に興味深く拝見しました。
S魂斗羅は基板を買う程好きですがノーミスクリアはした事が無いです。
