    Glad he was not in a hurry and gave everyone the dimensions.

      It's definitely a tech savvy approach, but let's not go too far.

      The craftsmanship lies in what is done before and after the CNC does the easy part. There’s a lot of work that goes into making these signs.

    I LOVE the detail you incorporated into this sign, you finished it off so nicely as well. Beautiful work!

      Thanks! They’re a lot of fun when you’re not beating your head against the wall in frustration!🤣 Just kidding. They’re just like any other hi-tech tool, there’s a learning curve but it’s worth it in the end.

    Very nice work.I wish I could find wood like that where I am.

      I’m using Arkansas grown Eastern Red Cedar. Where are you located?

      Near Sioux Falls SD.

      @@lukaspotgieter7363 I sell cedar lumber locally and would be glad to help you out. It may be cost prohibitive, but I could ship you some shorter (22" or less) 5/8" x 7.5" pieces via UPS. If you're interested contact me through my digital business card: dot.cards/mitchellswoodwork

    Very nice work. I've been dabbling with Fusion360 on a makerspace CNC, but planning to move over to vcarve pro for my CAD/CAM. Is the multi-bit tool path thing a feature of vcarve pro? I can't think of how to do that with f360, but there's a lot more I don't know about that software than I do know...

    • @MitchellsWoodwork

      Thanks Tim! I’ve never used F360 but I’d be really shocked if it didn’t have the “save all toolpaths to one file” capability like VCarve Pro. But for my setup it only works if you have a bit setter (tool setter), and I figure that’d be the case regardless of the CAD program you use.

    That's very nice. How long did that take in real time?

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      VCarve estimated 1 hour and 45 mins, but I was able to speed it up on the clearing tool paths, so it was probably 1.5 hours or so carve time. The entire process is normally 2 - 3 days including drying time between coats of polyurethane.

      I'm trying to make and sell some signs locally. What did you charge for that sign? Was that cedar or redwood.
      Also beautiful work.

      @@Mapleviewdesignsco thanks brother. I use Arkansas grown Eastern Red Cedar for most of my work. This particular sign was $300.00

    Nothing like cheating with the CNC. I call it cheating because I wish I had one.

    • @MitchellsWoodwork
      @MitchellsWoodwork  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      😁👍 The CNC doing the carve is the easy part. It’s all the computer work and wood prep work before, and the finishing the piece after the carve that’s the time consuming part. Then, of course videoing the entire process and then editing at an average speed of 30 - 60 mins per 1 minute of finished video….be careful what you wish for! 😉 But seriously though, I absolutely love it and hope some day you’ll get one too. Thanks for watching and commenting! 😊
