Fantano might actually be one of the most misunderstood people on the internet. And despite it all, he still has great character and a strong passion for music. What a man 🫡
Liked the interview. Still pretty new to his channel. What I like about him is that you tell he's really knowledgable about all kinds of music, and while, clearly schooled in music (theory and whatnot), he doesn't disparage "fringe" music, like experimental and outsider stuff. What made me trust him as a source was the site. There's an interview with Jim O'Rourke and Jon Abbey from Erstwhile there. Actually ordered music from JA (I think), which he was distributing. Lot of Steve Roden stuff (RIP), and Olivia Block that I had a hard time finding. Didn't realize Fantano was from the East Coast. Not that it matters, but had wondered where he was from.
A few years back I was going through some of Fantano's old emo reviews, and I came across one for an album called Supersonic Home by Adventures. It was a lower view video from 2015, and most of the comments were about how he had a full head of hair in the vid. But the way he described the album made it seem like something I'd really enjoy, and it's now one of my favorite albums. Super catchy, and some sweet vocal harmonies too. That's what I love about Fantano the most

As billed, this was indeed a conversation with Anthony Fantano.
this was so fucking awesome and insightful man. keep up the good work!!
i would say he is one of a very small group that matters to the over 50s as well - his review of classic 70s albums are as good as it gets
Jesus Melon, pull the energy back, you’re TOO ROWDY!
