I love the older GMC setup with the middle seat and older infotainment . Column shifter is a must , glad they keep that on lower trims . Im a simple guy and heated seats and AC and the ability to connect my phone wirelessly for music is all I need . Would love to get this exact one but crew cab !
I am happy to see a truck without all the crap in it, there are enough trims and trucks that have every option and feature. I hope the manufacturers are starting to realize a huge portion of the truck market would prefer a simpler, less gadgety truck. If you want/can easily afford a six figure truck, there are plenty of options out there. While almost no options for a man who has more sense than money.
I'm 28, currently driving an 01 civic as a commuter and a 95 f250 with a 460 on the weekends, and am finally in good enough financial shape to be considering a new truck this winter. Looking at a base model F250, this GMC2500HD Pro and a 21 or prior Toyota Tundra.
That engine bay looks really clean with lots of room to work with.
Enjoyed your review, I came to much the same conclusion.
I ended up ordering the 3500HD PRO - 6.6 gas, crew cab, full bed, SRW, 4WD, X31, steel wheels, plow package, gooseneck/5th wheel package, and a few other options, including E85 (which I waited 6 months for). I couldn't find the specific combination I was looking for anywhere, and I couldn't see a reason for not upping to the 3500 over the 2500, the crew cab or the full bed. gauges

Have a dealer that wasn't going to tack on thousands, as it was a special order, unlike the Ford dealers, that were looking to rape me. Seeing all the issues Ford has been having, no regrets there.
Hoping it actually gets built at some point, but I'm in no rush.
It would be nice to have technology to play with but I would be perfectly happy with that GMC Pro.

I consider the Duramax diesel engine a possible better option if the work routines are daily, with long distances and with a minimum of 80% of its load and/or towing capacity. The design seems exceptional to me in space optimization, security by having the B post. GMC Demonstrates why it is Professional Grade! EXCELLENT your review Tom; THANK YOU!

I like a good old analog needle gage set.... I look at to many screens throughout my day.

It's crazy this is a "base model" I think it's pretty sharp, the higher trims have too much goin on.
Best truck is perfect except for one thing and that is the remote start must have in those cold winter days, so for me stepping up to the SLE for an additional 4-5k is well worth it and all you need
Pro model comes with remote start in (Canada at least )
Its a rugged truck. Can the seat be adjusted up and down, or its just forward and back and the back rest adjustment? For shorter people, it would be really a plus to have that option, and I wonder if this truck has it?
