    Starting tomorrow. Not good at drawing, but getting all the sketches down and I'm good at all that and not too bad at shading, just not a good free hand drawer

      how about doing realistic tattoo, where you have a photo or image as a base for tattooing.

      I’ve always been the same, and it’s the main reason I sidelined my artistic endeavors for so long. As far as pencil drawing goes, b/w graphite portraits were always my bread and butter because it’s very straightforward “copy” work. As mentioned in the other replies, that sort of tattooing may be up your alley.

    2:07 when I started drawing I copied people’s drawing. I first started tracing and it help me with lines. Then I challenge myself to do drawing without tracing… it does help cause now I don’t have to copy people drawing. Now I look at a realistic picture and be creative with it. I never took art classes and I’m good at drawing it look perfect and real
    Soo I agree with him in that part if you don’t draw, start tracing and then push yourself to draw something without tracing when you feel like you ready

    I know a lot of good artists that couldn’t draw and there 🔥🔥 doing tattoos I’ll it takes is effort and practice to those young ones that are starting don’t get discouraged by this, keep getting paractice and effort on it and you will make it happen, like a mention I know a lot of artists that never draw, now it’s good if you have the experience, but is not necessary if you don’t have it.

  • @Lalaland.001
    @Lalaland.001 2 ปีที่แล้ว +97

    So in short, if you can't draw, learn it by any means necessary. You need to draw and know how to draw, before getting into tattooing, there are no shortcuts. Even tracing is considered drawing and that's where you learn the basics. You just took 4 minutes to explain the fact that you need to learn how to draw if you can't draw, which is kinda logical and ironic at the same time, love the gist of it though.

      I can't draw at all, but I noticed I was able to transfer one image to another paper realy well I have been able to tattoo some incredible things like faces or skulls or just realisim in general but I struggle with everything else and even tho I can already tattoo on skin I am returning to the basics because I feel like I have reached a dead end.

    • @bleufitz9702

      @@validatedcustomer604You’re mistaken here- the issue is when people steal cusom designs, or sign it as their own art.
      Stealing custom art that an artist spend hours or days on is of course not cool at all. esp for the client who paid a lot of money for something they thought was custom.
      If you dont know how to draw, trace for practice. it helps you actually see the technique, fundamentals, & the little defails bc you’re up close, spending a lot of time on it, & drawing it multiple times. You dont post practices or studies or sketches yknow. Tattoo artists of all skill levels do this.
      & He said tattoo it on fake skin.
      obviously if you cant draw you cant tattoo, so starting on paper is the way to learn fundamentals and foundations first.
      Then you learn how to draw for tattooing specificall, then how to tattoo it.

      thanks for the comment, so when it comes to learning to draw for tattooing application it can be different then just learning how to draw. The best thing for people wanting to get into the industry now is there's so many references and flash books of all different styles online. So I would recommend starting out drawing traditional style tattoos to get a feel for drawing for tattooing. This will help you get a feel for flow and you will grow alot faster then trying to focus on all the different styles at once. Another thing is any time I am drawing a animal for a tattoo even if it isnt a realism tattoo i find a reference photo of the animal I am wanting to draw so that I can get the drawing exactly how they would look in real life.
