I have an '07 Trailblazer with that same engine and it cooks. Back at about 75,000 miles, one of those valve springs broke and dropped a valve. Fortunately it didn't hurt the engine. When do drive our traverse we call a truck and we don't beat on it and it gets out of it's own way for having 310hp and awd when merging onto the highway. I'm in new jersey so most of our highway limits are 55 to 65. Love you guys content!

Congratulations 🎉 for having cute dog bear Murphy and congrats 🎉 for the fact, that Murphy's law has almost no chance in/around the Sleeperdude family shop. I kept wondering where the Yukon had gone. I'll be facing the same job on my G8 some day. Nice to know it can be done without messing with the oil pump. Thanks for showing me the way!
hey Josh, did some work on an LS motor here in Australia and it started squeaking too, changed the belt and idlers, and still kept squeaking, changed the water pump and still kept squeaking, so i tried a trick and old mechanic told me... get a bar of soap and hold it against the belt on both the inside and outside while the engine is running.... and sure enough it stopped squeaking, results do seem to vary though, sometimes it stops squeaking completely, sometimes it only stops it squeaking for a short while and then you can do the soap trick again. anyways could be worth a shot. keep up the great work and content mate, love it!
I love seeing the 90s-2000s Suburbans being freed from all the 90s-2000s electronics . I remember when I was young we'd get an old 80s Suburban and hot rod it and drop it low and have a great cruiser.
Watch out, folks. There will be a wild driver in a souped up Chevy on the loose, burning holes in the pavement and making new holes in the road. Have fun, Marge and thanks for sharing those interesting videos with us
I stopped halfway through mowed my yard real quick its been raining everyday nearly and came back in to watch the rest I sure hope that squeak gets fixed easily I am a bit worried and yall did such a great job is it good to have the exhaust off ? I am such a worry wart on these things Marge cracked me up extra 15 mins of sleep ha ha its so funny Josh is the slow driver It seems the rebuild worked great you will never be able to keep up with her in the beetle ❤I didnt realize the old girl was down for seven months It seems my dad a terrible mechanic said you need a certain amount of back pressure from the exhaust but you know lots more happy to see granny supervising she loves yall so much bless her heart. Thank you for sharing its Always a beautiful thing to see yall here and I love my glow in the dark keyring and the hat fits my noggin I too had a pretty big cap in the service , Josh I guess its all of that brain power we got huh 😂 ❤❤❤ love yall
Smart decision on getting rid of that troublesome cylinder de-activation nonsense. Even smarter decision on the camshaft upgrade. When those lifters go, they go in a bad way. At least it was only one of them. Great repairs!!!
i had the afm lifter fail on my tahoe. got it all ripped part and the lift wasnt even collapsed. its been sitting in my backyard in pieces since 2022. from what i heard those plastic lifter trays can get worn. maybe ill try replacing that. great video like always. thanks for all the entertainment
Hi Josh, I did a delete in a customer of mine and I tell you that engine will last forever!! It’s gonna be a gas hog but man the difference is amazing… that’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done on a modern engine..
I did a DOD delete for a customer and their fuel economy dropped 1/2 of a mpg. That’s all. It greatly depends on the right foot of the driver. DOD is zero benefit to a heavy foot driver.
Josh I had the same squeak on my 92 F150 I chased down every thing still had the squeak. I finally put on a new serpentine belt and no more squeak. Change the belt, when coolant gets on a serpentine belt it can cause it to squeak.
Pulling the inner fender skirt helps a ton to change those motor mounts. Just a heads up for next time saves you about 30 minutes. I also would have replaced them with oem mounts I've seen those power torque ones fail quite frequently.
I'd like to take a moment and say a prayer for that 4L60E, may she live a long and prosperous life trying to keep up with Marge's right foot! 😂💯
Yes thank you
@@oscarwilde5473but, what if you're an amputee, no right foot? That obviously leaves a manual trans out of the question.

did some work on an LS motor here in Australia and it started squeaking too, changed the belt and idlers, and still kept squeaking, changed the water pump and still kept squeaking, so i tried a trick and old mechanic told me...
get a bar of soap and hold it against the belt on both the inside and outside while the engine is running....
and sure enough it stopped squeaking, results do seem to vary though, sometimes it stops squeaking completely, sometimes it only stops it squeaking for a short while and then you can do the soap trick again. anyways could be worth a shot.
keep up the great work and content mate, love it!
sounds so cool mates praying for many years of reliable miles
Thank you
I love seeing the 90s-2000s Suburbans being freed from all the 90s-2000s electronics . I remember when I was young we'd get an old 80s Suburban and hot rod it and drop it low and have a great cruiser.
awesome video. So many want to see this done. Time for the little red car love, Ralphie truck build and cant wait for Squeeze's car to come in!
Yeah for sure
Watch out, folks. There will be a wild driver in a souped up Chevy on the loose, burning holes in the pavement and making new holes in the road. Have fun, Marge and thanks for sharing those interesting videos with us
Hopefully it runs better, and I love the music that you have.. I loved the exspression on marges face when it first started up …great work josh ….
Doesn’t matter how many years I’ve been watching you, still makes me laugh every time I hear you say “ool” for oil.
Saw a hack where they used a bolt and a zip tie to keep the hose clamps open! Looked cool!
Oh ok thanks
Smart decision on getting rid of that troublesome cylinder de-activation nonsense. Even smarter decision on the camshaft upgrade. When those lifters go, they go in a bad way. At least it was only one of them. Great repairs!!!
Glad Jamal has recovered from his " stuck in the tree experience "
My Kitty is a big fan of Jamel and would get a T-shirt if one was available
😼👍
👍👍👍
i had the afm lifter fail on my tahoe. got it all ripped part and the lift wasnt even collapsed. its been sitting in my backyard in pieces since 2022. from what i heard those plastic lifter trays can get worn. maybe ill try replacing that. great video like always. thanks for all the entertainment
Awesome thank you
Josh I had the same squeak on my 92 F150 I chased down every thing still had the squeak. I finally put on a new serpentine belt and no more squeak. Change the belt, when coolant gets on a serpentine belt it can cause it to squeak.
Ok thanks
Pulling the inner fender skirt helps a ton to change those motor mounts. Just a heads up for next time saves you about 30 minutes. I also would have replaced them with oem mounts I've seen those power torque ones fail quite frequently.
Ok thank you
