If there was one game to be played with the fate of the universe was at stake my quarterback is and always will be Joseph Clifford Montana Jr. Go 49ers!
Imagine the 49ers didn't stink it up in the 87 divisional playoff game vs Minnesota? They were likely headed to another title that year which would have then been 3 in a row w 88 & 89 and 5 titles in the 80s
Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Steve Young, Ronnie Lotts, and Charles Haley in the Pro football Hall of Fame. Time for Roger Craig needs to be in the Pro football Hall of Fame.
Craig does not below in the HOF. Only 8,189 career yards rushing and a little over 13,000 total yards running and receiving. The latter puts him outside the #25 all-time and the former has him at #44 all-time. Plus he only has two All-Pro selections...
@R K You could've continued on... Set the 1000×1000 record which took another 14 seasons to be equaled. And he set it as a FullBack! We'll never see that again. First player to score three touchdowns in a Super Bowl. His 73 touchdowns are more than Terrell Davis, Larry Csonka, Cliff Branch etc. And within a couple of career touchdowns or less than Frank Gifford, OJ Simpson and Earl Campbell! He was the best that there was for many of the years that he played and that should be enough to get his bust in the same wing with someone like Lawrence "In And Out Of Jail" Taylor. How many championships did Taylor's malfeasance cost his team?
Just also imagine if the 49ers would have won the 1990 NFC Championship They would have won 6 Super Bowls in 10 years from 1981 through 1990. This would have been 4 Super Bowls victories from 1987 through1990. If they would have won in 1987 in the divisional playoff. They also lost in 1983 NFC Championship vs Washington by 3 points after trailing 21points and we must remember the bad calls on Eric Wright and then on Ronnie Lott for pass interference. This would have made 7 Super Bowls victories in 10 years.
@Lafayette I would doubt a Niners victory against the Raiders in '83. They really needed D. Clark in the lineup against the Redskins and for sure he wouldn't have been there against the Raiders in the Super Bowl.
Where was Steve young in that bucs game in beginning of video ? He should’ve been quarterbacking the Bucs , unless he was hurt... Following the 86 season, he was traded to San Francisco.
We weren't no dam finesse team in the 1980''s banging with and beating the best and toughest defenses we've ever seen
For the 1988 SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS to come back from a 6 and 5 season all the way to 10 and 6, INCREDIBLE!!!!
Yeah their weakest SB team by miles, but hey, SB champs is all u need.

Too soon, bro. We don't talk about the '87 Divisional. Too soon...
That I guess it's too soon to talk about the 1990 NFC championship game.. could have been four in a row
@@sequoia1171 I was 13. I hid in a laundry hamper after Roger fumbled and went by my mom's reaction to see who won. Too soon.
@@debaser_666 you're right. Way too soon. I was 14 I think, and we didn't turn the TV back on for like a month and a half
That 1987 loss will always be one one of the most shocking playoff results I have ever seen.
Amazing quality for being VHS
I went truw high school with these guys!..86-89👨🎓

Phantom holding call on Lott in '83 and an even worse call on Wright in '84 against the Steelers that would have been a perfect season.
The 49ers might as well be the only dynasty where they won 4 Super Bowls, but also lose in the first round of the playoffs 3 straight years.
Those years are from 1985-1987. 2 Super Bowl wins before in 81/84, and 2 after in 88/89.
49ers won 10 or more games..from 83-98....
