Dr. Jay was absolutely fantastic. Clear and concise. I love learning about other scholars so I can get my hands on more commentary and perspective.

I always related the split hooves and chewed the cud. Relating to followers of Jesus Christ, how we walk with the spirit and chew on the word. Keep straight on the path and meditate on the word. Psalm 1.

@AWKNGInc I humbly disagree with the interpretation that the parenthetical statement in Mark 7:19, where Jesus declares all foods clean, includes unclean animals. The context of the passage is only about the ritual washing of hands, not the distinction between clean and unclean animals. If Jesus had meant to include unclean animals, wouldn’t his disciples have begun eating them? However, by the time of Peter’s vision in Acts 10, which occurred 21-22 years after Jesus’ death, Peter was still observing kashrut laws.
Also, Paul, toward the end of his run with the Gospel, told Festus in defense of the charges brought against him “I have done nothing wrong against the *_Jewish law_* or against the temple or against Caesar (Acts 25:8). Then later he said, “My brothers, although I have done nothing against our people or *_against the customs_* of our ancestors, I was arrested in Jerusalem and handed over to the Romans” (Acts 28:17). Jewish law and customs included kashrut. I would like to know your thoughts if you care to share them. Thank you.

I think it’s worth asking if Jesus actually started eating unclean animals, which, as you nicely pointed out, doesn’t seem to be the case as he denied having broken any customs, perhaps for this very reason to show that he fulfilled the law without any shadow of a doubt (though he wasn’t afraid to show their misunderstanding of the law [cf Mark 2:23-28]). His disciples clearly had difficulty understanding and comprehending a lot of Jesus’ teachings, otherwise Peter may not have needed Jesus to give him a vision 21-22 years later.

You are denying biblical inerrancy and sound like a form critical “scholar.” All manuscripts of Mark contain this phrase in the text.

Like I said...I'm ready to debate buttercup. It's so clear you've spent no time on this. Humanity drives me nuts.
Here. I'll help you instead of being rude.
      1. How many YEARS after Jesus was crucified did Peter's vision of the sheet occur?
      2. Did Peter walk with Jesus? Was he present during the "all foods clean" teaching? Did Peter learn from the risen Jesus? Did Peter receive the Holy Spirit at pentecost?
      3. What did Peter say the vision of the sheet was about?
I won't give you the conclusion. I challenge you to pray to God and study this. Let's see if you get there through Him.
