Doom Patrol is really interesting. They deserve a movie or a video game. I like how crazy jane is kinda like Legion from Xmen, who has personalities and powers. Crazy Jane needs her own series
The surprising thing was not even that the Doom Patrol died at the end of the first run (without it being immediately taken back), it was that they deliberately sacrificed themselves to save some random town in (I believe) Maine. Not to save Earth, or the universe, or whatever. Just some random little town. I remember when that happened (I was a big DP fan from the beginning) and it was really a shock.
I didn't know about the Doom Patrol until after their post Crisis reboot, but as soon as Grant Morrison started writing their adventures I was hooked. Im constantly amazed that the weirdness of the DP has lasted for FOUR seasons when Swamp Thing crashed and burned after one. Can't wait to see how the show concludes.
Have to admit the Doom Patrol didn’t really grab my attention but I have seen the Crazy Jane scenes and I absolutely love Diane Guerrero playing her - she definitely did her justice
I think it does a disservice to both teams to say they rip each other off. The similarities are very superficial and outside of "A team of misfits with powers led by a man in a wheelchair" they are utterly different.
One of my favorite superhero teams. Haven't watched the show but hope to at some point. I remember seeing the print comic of the end of the DP and also a reboot in which Robotman's brain survives the explosion and he confirms the deaths of his teammates. Awesome list.
I’m not fluent in the comics, but the show is definitely one of my favorite things that the Superhero genre has put out. Definitely not your standard superhero experience, and I think it’s far better for it.
I'm halfway through season 3 and it's brilliant. Season 2 is a bit less weird than season 1 as season 1 really goes balls to the wall with the season antagonist, and season 2 had to deal with Covid restrictions. Season 3 introduces Michelle Gomez as Madam Rouge and she's as wild as she was when she played Missy. She's one of those actresses who just goes balls to the wall if you let her. I love how they really delve into Jane and her personalities, and their whole reason for existing. Each one has a function and purpose, and the actress is extraordinary in her ability to portray each one when they gain control of the body.
Cool 😎 list Amazing 🤩 Amanda, I enjoyed the tv series, but for me GOTHAM is my favorite live action DC tv series…they both fall behind most of the DCAU & Young Justice IMO…Staying Nerdy…Keep Up The Great Work 🖖🏾
The Doom Patrol is the original superhero-group from which X-Men are copied from. Doom Patrol is also more interesting and this TV-series is beyond amazing ♥️💛💚🧡💜💙
The doom patrol is waaaay better than the X men. At least the HBO version. The way they balanced humor with topics like, emotional trauma , r@p3, loss of love ones. It was a shame to see the show go but it was pure gold right to the very end
Doom Patrol have more in common with Fantastic 4 than the X-Men, like in every way. A dude in a wheel chair is the only thing they have with the X-Men.
I agree Doom patrol is the best DC DC show the next one was the short one season of John Constantine then stargirl it was also cut short and then teen Titans a lot of things they got it was good and then they got cheesy at the end

Personally I think that The Doom Patrol and The X-Men are different in their own right.
