Being autistic I lucked out with the first driving instructor I got who was awfully nice, knew I was way harder on myself than he ever needed to be, and has the patience of a legend!
The other instructors at the local driving school had reputations of being very stern and pointed.
Now that’s good for a lot of people, but I had a shitty childhood so that kind of teacher would have broken me.
I’m so grateful for all these different types of instructors who can help the driver the most fitting way!!

I think it's very good you teach brake and clutch is different pedals. Some people almost always put down clutch before braking because they know they'll need to switch gear, but as a truckdriver I will say it's always good to hold the brake first before the clutch otherwise the heavy load will speed downhill really fast...

    • @deang5622

That is because you don't drive in first gear.
You use first gear to pull away from a standing still, then you get the gear up into second within a few seconds of the vehicle moving.
The gear is too powerful and if you try to drive in first gear, you will not be able to obtain smooth motion of the vehicle.

I honestly wish I had a driving instructor like her. The one I had was so forceful and rude taht it’s scared me out of driving. But this woman is amazing 😊
