  • I’ve been looking for a flashlight with these button settings and so far I’m super happy with it. I compare it a bit to the Fenix PD36R and I make a reference to the Nitecore MH12S.

Appreciate the 'not normal' video. Like a lot of folks I have picked up a bit of a flashlight habit. Got a couple of OLights, a Wow-Tac thay has some similar features to your Nitecore. They were an offshoot of someone maybe Nitecore or Thrunite. Recognize the standable tailcap even though it has tailswitch !
Have about 4 more less brag- worthy but still solid, capable lights

Hello Tom, I’m thinking of doing videos of stuff I like from time to time. I haven’t looked into Wow-Tac but I’ll check it out. Any recommendation is always appreciated. Thanks.

Regarding the TN12 Pro: Has anyone else noticed that when you use the double lockout (side button and tail btton ) feature, there is a significant amout of parasitic drain?
It doesn't seem to have a significant drain when using just the side button lockout feature alone.

I have this light. Very good points, only thing i don't like is the way lockout is set up. If not locked out its to easy for it to accidentally activate via the sideswitch. However, if locked out it cant be activated quickly via the tailswitch as far as i can tell. Still, overall a great light. Enjoyed the review.

Thank you. The lock out function is a good point to bring up. I’ve locked my light a few times without knowing too. Now I have the habit of turning the light on and off before putting it in my pocket.

The features you mention were my reasons for re-buying this flashlight, but it's not this version it is the "Uprgraded" version. ThruNite just released the TN12 PRO Upgrade, and the way they improved it is having the side switch circular shroud be as tall as the switch.
When I had the first version of the TN12 Pro it was accidentally turning on in my pocket, via the side switch. I ended up returning it, and now this upgraded version so far has fixed the side switch issue. For me I'm happy, because I really like the TN12 Pro UI.
I too have used a Fenix (PD35 V3) and Powertac M5 G3, and they are great flashlights, I just wish the side switch worked independently from the tail switch. I recall Thrunite making a 21700 version tactical tail switch flashlight, it was the TT20, I wonder if maybe they will re-release it. Thanks for sharing.

You are a wealth of knowledge. Thank you for letting me know about the upgraded version and for mentioning other flashlights that you like.

Shot in the dark- do you know if Amazon is selling the “upgraded” version now? I too had issues with the light turning on in my pocket and it was returned bc of it 🙏

Is this the cool or neutral white version? It looks warmer than other videos

I bought it from eBay, I checked to see if they mentioned light color and they don’t. So I have no idea.

Where did you buy yours? I got mine from amazon but it came with the silver button on the head (not flat)… instead of the black flat button

Hello, it could be two things that I can think of. My light is brown and I’ve seen that only the brown one comes with a black button. The second thing somebody else mentioned, they said that there is an upgraded version that has a different button style so that the light isn’t turned on accidentally while in pocket. It could be either of these two. I bought mine from eBay. Hope this helps.

What bothers me is i wouldn't feel as safe with the strobe lumen cut, 560 lumens for the strobe, bunmer its made to disorientate when your lifes in dangee but not with the lumen cut, should be at least 1000 lumen strobe, they weakened the tactical ness didnt they, I lost the old model, ide buy this one tonight but my OCD and the lumin cut for strobe haha. Geeze that would be a bummer to have to cycle through the modes on the Fenix to get to the one you want, the worse thing is a phone that keeps pausing music in your pocket when your hands are freezing, no lockout option, lol

    • @totesmalotes

I didn’t know the strobe was 560 lumens. Thanks for mentioning it. Yeah, 1000 would be better. Maybe the next iteration will have it.
