You absolutely can use the muffs on the water. Tilt the engine up lean over slip the muffs on tilt the engine back down. If the muffs have a good seal the engine will only pull in freshwater. I do it every weekend. Put your hand underneath the telltale and taste a few drops of that water. Not a drop of salt

My 2023 Yamaha F300s tilt out of water and I flush no problems. Mine are sloped down at a 45 degree angle , what you call decent. My bullets just clear water line and lower unit slopes at approx 45 ish and it flushes just fine.

And the motors are running correct? Seems like the term flushing doesn’t always meaning running engine.

You can test the rydlyme effectiveness with pH. They have a tech document on the website. Once it reaches 5-7 pH the solution is used up and you need to replace.

so as long as you have enought water pressure from your water hose, there no problem flushing it tilted, i run mine at idle when i flush it, been doing that with honda and yamaha for years..

This topic of using heat to get bolts has come up a few times. Have you ever used an induction heater to heat up the bolts? I think it would be an awesome solution especially so you don't burn things around where you are using a torch.
I also heard but haven't confirmed that an induction heater will not work on metal that isn't magnetic...stainless steel. Any thoughts?

I have seen those, I don't have one, but they look like they work amazingly! Granted you need like a stud or piece of the bolt sticking out to get it to work but I'd love to get an induction gun :) I don't think they have to have magnetized metal, I don't really know but I don't think it matters, old rusty metal is all it really needs to be lol also not sure about the stainless, I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I don't have one to have played around with it like that lol :) great comment bro!

Hi from South Africa!!! Will it work using rydlym to fush your outboard in a tank with a ratio of lets say..... 1to 5 or 1to10. This would only be for flushing and preventative maitainance on the outboard after use. Salt away does not seem to be that effecive for the price point.......

Hello! I would imagine so, yes, the chemical is the chemical and it works great, so if you dilute it down more it will still be effective, but less harsh. As long as you can recirculate it through the engine for some time, an hour or so. I would say you would only need to do it a couple times a year too, it wouldn't need to be like a monthly thing.

Suzuki's are prone to this issue.
