    This is ESSENTIAL information. As a car enthusiast, I can't believe I never realized this.

    Excellent. This is a great help. I changed my 16 inch wheels and tires on my truck to 18 inch. I had no idea what to run in these new tires. Thanks to you now I do.

    I knew that my new "plus 2" setup wouldn't use the tire pressure indicated on the vehicle for the original wheel tire combo, but I didn't know how to calculate what the new, correct pressure would be. This video was extremely helpful. Thanks!

    It's taken a couple of attempts for me to search and find something to help me calculaten inflation for large wheels and/or tyres. I knew there had to be one but didn't knwo how to get to it. Thank you so much!

    Perfect timing. I just ordered some 20's last week after getting the lowering springs installed. The height I have now should have been stock from the factory. The stock wheel/fender spacing is ridiculous.

      Nice and congrats!...yeah after lowering you'll see how crazy the space was.

    Really useful information. I wonder why it only has lil over 1.5K views. Maybe you can make a tweak here and there so more people would find your videos. Maybe different title or with actual wheels with stock and upsized inflated to the said tyre pressure. All in all thanks to your videos.

    Question I have a 2010 Lincoln towncar with a OE Size of 225 60 17 to 225 65 17 and factory air pressure is 35 on all 4 with the slight increase 35 not only set off my low tire pressure warning light and felt like driving with a sloppy tire filled up my tire to 40psi and drives way better. What does the recommendations from the book say is the proper pressure

    I have 20 inch rims all around , 255s in front and 295s in back. What should my tire pressure be in front and back ?

  • @MickeyWu7r5
    @MickeyWu7r5 ปีที่แล้ว

    The load index shouldn't change that is the weight the tires can handle which is the loaded weight of the car. The seed rating may be upgraded.

    I got a car with 275/45/17s, the front are 245s. Max pressure with full car load requires 51 psi. Since I am only one in car; is 40psi ok?

    Doing this would put my tire pressure below the 40 psi min..... more like 25.... oem tire 111 at 35 psi= 2339, new tire 126 load E....

  • @zanuarrosyidi4034
    @zanuarrosyidi4034 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Actually you can Calculate your self
    My previous tire is 185/55 R15 max load 475kg at 51 psi (on door manufacturer recommend 31 psi) i can calculate at 31 psi we get 295 kg each tire. And i bought new one, upsize wheel with 195/50 R16 max load 500kg at 44 psi so i recalculate but i increase little bit from 295 to 310 each tire max load so i get 27 psi for 195/50 R16

  • @sebastiantu6212
    @sebastiantu6212 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My stock miata tires were LI:84 at 29 psi so 926. The new PS4S's are rated at LI:94, and the lowest on the chart is 1044 at 24psi.........so I would think that according to this I should go lower than 24, perhaps 22? Seems quite the drop

    • @off-roadingexplained8417
      @off-roadingexplained8417 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah some of the older miatas I think took 22 anyway. There is a bottom out though where no matter how light the car is you're going to bottom out at about 22 PSI. So since 22 is the bottom if you want to be safe you can do like 23 24 if you just don't want to be on the bottom. 22s usually the bottom on the inflation table ( for metric). And if you're going to do 22 I would do metric tires not pmetric tires they're a little bit tougher - metric tires are.

    • @NuVega5
      @NuVega5  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll need to find the PSI requirements of the tires that came stock on the car, should be on the inside of your door or manual, then cross reference it to your new ones, it works both ways.

    Most confusing video ever. Finally found the chart and I either need less than 25psi or 80 psi I can’t tell. I don’t think this is a good way of doing figuring out the correct psi. And where do you even find the load rating for standard tires. It’s different between every manufacturer so depending what trim package you get with the vehicle this method could say you need 25 psi or 80

    • @NuVega5
      @NuVega5  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You take the OEM tire size and load rating of your car from the factory, or placard in the door frame, and compare it to the new tire size and load rating. My 2014 S5 comes with 19" wheels standard with a 96XL rated load rating with a suggested PSI of 32 for the rear, so that wheel/tire combo can comes at 1,260lbs...upgrade to a 20 wheel/tire with a 99XL load rating, I find on the cart where the PSI equals or is greater than 1,260lbs, which for me equals PSI of 29, 1,267lbs...so my wheels/tires at 29PSI hold the same amount of weight as a 19 wheel/tire at PSI 32. This site gives the same info as well: tiresize.com/pressure-calculator/
