One tip I learned when playing this game: do not shoot the bottom TIE in a diamond formation, as it causes the other 3 to scatter. Shooting the other TIE's in that formation will keep them flying together for some reason.
Gold Medal requirements for this level: Time: 10:00 Enemies destroyed: 60 Shot accuracy: 31% Friendlies lost: 6 Lives lost: 1 Targeting Computer Efficiency: 80% I exceeded all the Gold requirements in this playthrough. If you've already gotten Gold on a mission it'll say "No new medal awarded" even if you beat it with Gold requirements again.
This level is so fun on co-op in Rebel strike. I take the Slave 1 and my bro rocks the Jedi star-fighter taking turns holding Z then spamming a couple of mines and watch the beautiful blue carnage unfold the split screen. Good times!! Now Strike at the core on the other hand is a goddamned nightmare of Battletoads proportions in co-op.
The reason is because the bottom Tie is the leader, the same way you are the leader of your formation. Thus, in a triangular formation, the tie in the front -or the center- is the leader, and destroying it will cause the rest to spread.
In the last mission, Resistance, there's really no strategy other than kill everything and don't get shot. That's really all there is to it, and you have to do it for like 5 hours so it's not even worth it. If the other one you're talking about is where you play as Darth Vader on the Death Star, that one is a bit more tricky. You have to use your missiles sparingly and just be accurate about killing the Rebel fighters. It's mostly accuracy and speed you have to focus on.
Try using the Naboo Starfighter. It seems to be less propense to crash on collisons than the X-Wing. I think it is thus because the X has a longer frontal part, also, if a TIE's pannel gets between the laser cannons and the cockpit, you are guaranteed to explode. In short, I think the Naboo is less propense to crashing because of its roundness. Also, the Naboo is better to avoid Star Destroyes' fire. Factor 5 went too far with the realism...
The two-part code for Naboo Starfighter is "CDYXF!?Q" then "ASEPONE!" (without the quotation marks). If you don't want to use a code, look for a walkthrough for info on how to pass the training. If you have any specific problem or doubt that is not solved in the walkthrough, you can come back and ask me.
Choose the X-Wing or the Naboo Starfighter. Each time a wave of TIES appear, speed up your ship (Close wings if using X-Wing) and head for any border of the stage. The TIES will start to chase you, but due to your ship's speed, they will not be able to reach you and will slowly be left behind. When they appear as a bunch of red dots almost at the bottom of your radar, turn around and pull up your targeting computer and shoot as many as you can. Then repeat the process for about 5 hours.
Here a trick. At the Start of the level, turn quickly amd go where the fighters spawn. As soon they spawn,Go under the big ship. The fighters will follow and die. The remaing fighters are the ones that won't follow you. They just fly around.
To clarify: the given tip was for the last mission, "Endurance". If you are trying to get the Gold, don't care much about anything (actually the required Targeting Computer Efficiency for Gold is 0%, which means you can have it ON the whole time). Just be sure to finish the mission UNDER six hours and no more -even with that much time you'll have to hurry. If you do finish all 100 waves before 6 hours you are guaranteed to earn the Gold. Reasons for the recomended ships: Speed and R2 unit.
Nice! Do you plan on uploading an Ace Mode, no life lost of Endor? (with X-wing, A-wing, Falcon, whatever?) Because, I think I could never achieve it without dying at least once... Endor in Ace Mode was just hysterical. Though that's how I've learn how to defeat a star destroyer with class! xD Damn, I wish they'd do a remake of the game, with less stupid allies and slightly updated graphics and game mechanics (even making some missions the possibility for online multiplayer coop).
@ussmissouri63 No I can tell it's not. If it was, you would not see gold medal status on this footage. You would earn an entirely different medal all together if it was on ace mode.
Okay, seriously, this is absolutely amazing. I haven't tried this game out yet myself, but I will be using your skill here as a benchmark to measure myself against. Great job. Though, I still wonder to this day... WHY did the Rebels commit a MEDICAL FRIGATE to a frontline battle?? The mind boggles.
It's because the Rebels lacked ships. The same reason they had transports with no weapons in the battle. All these ships are distractions and act as cover for each other. Giving the illusion of a large powerful fleet, when really they are just big shields to cover the actual few attack cruisers they have.
My favorite level on the game i remember back when I was a kid i always wanted to play this on a game but they never put it on one until unless you count star wars arcade
One last thing, tough the mission can be beaten in little more than 5 hours with the strategy given, the exact time limit you are given to finish the mission is 400 minutes, wich is 6 hours and 40 minutes. Also, the shot accuracy requirement is pretty low and is sure you will have it, UNLESS you dumbfire all the time for no reason. The rule is shoot as much as you want without fear, as long as there is at least a TIE in front.
What is the best ship to use to go for a gold medal on this level? I’m thinking X-Wing on Naboo Starfighter (haven’t unlocked it yet). I’m pretty sure you have to be a Jedi to do it with the A-Wing. I need one more gold to unlock the Revenge on Yavin mission (I think that’s what it’s called; the one after Triumph of the Empire). I’m missing Death Star Attack, Imperial Academy Heist and BoE.
If you haven't unlocked the N1 then the X-Wing is definitely the best, having torpedoes to hit the Star Destroyers and the astromech for heals. I do wonder if the Y-Wing could work though...
@@naguleader I think the Y-Wing might take 10 minutes just to get to the Star Destroyers from the Frigate. I don’t think I ever used the Y-Wing on any space mission, how do the bombs work? Is there a “down”?
@@rusty6899 Yeah even in space the game has a "down" which your ship will auto-roll to be level with, if you have auto-roll on. I am thinking the bombs might be good to take out the shield generators and also the Y-Wing's lasers are more accurate than the X-Wing's when linked, and it can takr a beating, but the speed would definitely be an issue
I had a hard enough time getting silver (fuck it, BEATING this mission). This is beyond my paygrade... Also, the TIE interceptors went to the same flying academy you did because THEY KEEP HITTING ME.
+naguleader Ya I know it is because I have it for the gamecube too? I was just wondering if there is a way to also play it on PC because some people have simulators like dolphin simulator and plays it through that, which makes the graphics look more intense!
Well I did finally unlock the slave 1. Made Ison and Vengence easy. This? PFFFFFHAHAHAHAHAHA. Its useless. Trying to unlock Endurance but, uh, I suspect to unlock Yavin and then Endurance, I need every gold medal...which I don't know if possible.

Watching these videos is just as entertaining as the movies themselves.
This is easily the best of the Rogue series, and possible one of the best Star Wars games all together. The attention to detail is just incredible.
Can't believe you survived till the end with losing no lives! That HP!

Zachary Damascus Hey thanks man! And maybe they thought the Rebel strike team on the moon would need help or something lol
It's because the Rebels lacked ships. The same reason they had transports with no weapons in the battle. All these ships are distractions and act as cover for each other. Giving the illusion of a large powerful fleet, when really they are just big shields to cover the actual few attack cruisers they have.
if there is one thing that i remember hating about star destroyers is that taking out the bottom shield generator was my achilles heel
Turning off auto roll will help with that!

una pregunta, por que siempre hacer que los del equipo se vallan? en que3 veneficia?
you are an amazing pilot in this game, well done...
yeah, the kamikaze TIE/Ins are really really frustrating, you just gotta be careful and lucky
OK i can play nearly all the ships but it wont let me play as an a-wing y-wing of b-wing in this. how did you get all that ?
Nope, done on my Wii and recorded with a Dazzle DVD Recorder

DID THEY JUST FIRE ALL THEIR MISSILES AT THE MILLENNIUM FALCON!?
Now that was a gold well earned.

Unlocking it is difficult....
Do u got a gold walkthrough of this mission w/ the Naboo Fighter or B Wing?
Not sure if u still do these but could u do a gold medal Death Star attack (death star 1) with a Y wing?
+scorch946 not sure if I will be able to record with my new computer but I will see what I can do!
Appreciate it man!

I had a hard enough time getting silver (fuck it, BEATING this mission). This is beyond my paygrade...

You have to beat the level first

+waouigha eoua Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader
I beat Ison with a Tie Fighter. It's not that hard.
Died only once.
Yep, it made dogfighting a pain in the ass in the game at times.
