Excellent job Guys! I've spent hours 100+ feet in the air welding out of a manlift, but never hung off a tree that high, you guys got balls of steel! Great camera work Thanks for posting!!
Gordy really makes it look easy, to line up cuts on a big stalk like that amazes me and folks that’s why they make wrapped handles. Good job everyone 👍💪🏻

Truly awesome boys! Great teamwork, and banter. Appreciate your familiarity with your well maintained tools. About thirty years ago I was high enough up a big pine to look over a house roof into a back garden ( as we call them here in UK ) where my young guys were drinking tea. It was then that the thought occurred to me that I'd done my share of climbing! We had a Black Poplar ( Cottonwood by another name) fall in a storm, I watched it go - it was a shade shorter than yours but a good deal heavier with a clean solid trunk to 40ft and 8ft across at ground level. Took two of us five days to log, brash and clear and the client only wanted to pay for four! Happy days.
One of the best teamwork videos I have seen. Some very hard workers that really know what they are doing and always thinking of their safety. Well done!

Absolutely loved it! This job reminded me of every side hustle job I did after company hours or on the weekends. Minimal equipment, patchwork of people with maximum skill sets, people with some skill sets and others armed only with onlooking enthusiasm. “Go to my car and get the “ _______” out of the trunk” yelled from working height brought such a smile to my face only another tree man could understand. Really hope to see more raw multiple camera shots edited together like this……and also work with Inbred Jed too. You guys are solid people 🤙
Keep this vibe, Jake. I'm a layperson regarding your work, but was thoroughly engrossed as I have been with all your previous work. Everyone's interactions are filled with camaraderie, respect, and good natured banter -- it really stands out. That was an amazing tree(s), and each team member's critical role was highlighted. I really like that you did this, I'm sure you put a lot of thought and planning into how you wanted this to come together (and the editing).

Another great video, Jacob! So glad that you & Jed still maintain your professional & personal relationships. You both work so well together! Good guys like you two are gems - keep it going. So nice that your family gets to travel with you, and that we finally got to "meet" them. If you ever head to Northern Colorado/Southern Wyoming, let me know. So fewer trees here and much smaller, except for cottonwoods in cities/towns. Stove-burners, mostly.

@@johnscustomsaws No worries my man, we all gotta start somewhere. Just like that big Cottonwood starting from a small seed. Maybe one day I'll be able to say I got in on the ground level before JCS got huge 😆 Good luck my friend.
Good stuff!!! At the end there, explanation of all that water, held up in there. The view! The banter! Wifey. Kids. Now I'll go make my wood sculpture. Later a tiny drink. So great to be a part of this. Or take part of it. Whatever. Cya!
That's sounds like a good idea but business has a way of killing a friendship. The amount of capital involved in a crane based tree company is enough to change everything about you that's good. If you can juggle both with a positive attitude your a special person.
Man, I feel that Jed is the kind of bloke that you could learn so much from by just being around the bloke or by sitting around a fire and having a few beers.
I think the technology😀did great with the black and whites of Gordy on the butt cut and Jed on the stem. Thank you for putting out great content will be looking forward to more.
I use to rappel out Hueys when I was in the army ,a long time ago, watching you two had me nervous in the service and on the edge of my seat. I use to log with a friend, we cut white pine ,jack pine and oak and haul it to an Amish log mill, my friend was going to build a house with it and we had just about enough when lymes and a bad heart got him , the biggest white pine we cut , we wrapped our arms around that tree and there was 6- 8 inches between our finger tips and I remember Trapper Dave stopping during the first cut and he looked at me and laughed and said ain’t this just scary as hell and so much fun,he dropped that tree right where he wanted it , I sure miss him. Stay safe guys.
I'm lucky to see TH-cam with quite a sound system. The thud of the trunks falling followed by the echo was quite fun to hear, although being there must have been even better. Most trees I cut either aren't that big and/or still have some branches on them, so I rarely get to hear that clean planet-sized bass drum hit.
Just discovered this channel, talk about bringing back memories of logging in high school for some spare work, but nothing like this. Magicians with the saw, both of you. Can't imagine the weight of the kahunas you gotta have to go up that high, while lugging saws, and having a good time in the process. Looking forward to the next vid.
WOW. NICE Job Guys!! Just Subscribed for 1st time. Watching you now - Just Had to!! I've worked trees/arboring for nearly two decades and still climb (age 58). Your job was as gnarly as they come, AND, you ID'ed/mentioned just about every real risk from the start: climbing/repelling/gear hazards; multi-vs-single climbing safeties & climber preference; dropping limbs unloaded (flat); risks of topping & splits (could easily KILL U); risks dropping logs w/ bark seams; loading and drop hazards; determining drop zone safety exits; etc. You climbers made it look EASY. I’d go thru at least a Gatorade for the climb up - didn’t look like you Guys ever cracked a sweat (Yep, I’m jealous). Base cuts as perfect as they come. You guys nailed it.
Great Job and great team synergy - would love to work a job with you guys. AND - This was a rare example of mixing talents of two similar but distinct disciplines: Arboring w/ real climbers, and forestry/logging. Most loggers don’t want to climb jack, they love the 'drop & run' technique. Similarly, many tree service folks refuse to do the job without a bucket truck. Loved the log flip contest from the top and your playful banter discussing it. Nice.. My Biggest was 165ft Poplar sitting on an initial distressed(rotten) 45-foot section. That was a gnarly nail biter and a story for another time. Great video - Loved it.. Dave Pickett. Owner iArborPRO. Maryland.
Since I found your channel a year or so ago the videos have helped a lot in my own climbing techniques. I thought I was odd that you hadn’t uploaded a video for quite a while, fortunately this video just popped up in my suggested videos so I’m subscribed again. I’ve just watched the first video explaining everything. It sucks that it ended like that, something you nurtured and watched grow was taken away from you. You can hear the pain and disappointment in your voice. On to bigger and better things, you can run it your way now. I’m in the UK and only have a very small company but if I can ever help in any way let me know.
I’ve had a 40’ head start in a tree when Jed has just plowed past me like I’m standing still. It was fun to watch him give you a run for your money and did it just for fun.
Love your video's. I'm still a new subscriber however I think this one is my favourite for sure out 9f the 15 if watched. Loved it, we watched it on the big screen because suddenly the whole family has grown to love you Jake
I'm glad I've found your new channel Jake and I'm totally bummed out the old one went the way it did for you but I'll be sharing your video's around for ya! What I love about yourself and Jed is the genuine passion you have for your job. I've been looking for something like that my whole life in a job. But they always end up being soul crushing so good on you legend's for living your best life!
I'm too old & too decrepit to begin climbing so ordinarily I pass up videos like this. I'm very glad I caught this one though. Magical & exhilerating! I had a blast! Thanks for a great show. DOUGout
What is truly amazing is the teamwork. Its easy to think one is more important than the whole, but this group of ultra professionals makes an unthinkable job doable. Jake thanking everyone at the end should not go unappreciated.
Another awsome video! I look more forward to your videos than anything on TV or in theaters. I always learn such much from your content. You have a great way of explaining things. Thanks again!
Great video. I love when you explain things like why the water was coming out and how it was two trees that never fully fused. Cottonwoods smell nasty when cut and they are brittle. Kind of dangerous to climb if you're not careful. There was a lot of moss on the bark too. I would have loved you to talk more about the approach to felling such a large DBH tree. It's hard to line up the back cut with the face cut. You pros make it look easy but it isn't. Thanks!
So glad to see you "having fun" with Jed again! It's great to see him, he has to be one of the nicest people to work with on the face of the planet. Amazing knowledge, positive attitude, and so humble on top of it all. Loving all of the new videos - the sneak peak on your Instagram of the water flowing out of the Cottonwood was making it difficult to wait for this video!
19:25 Jed is 120’ in a tree and both spurs slip, and the man just carries on the conversation like he stumbled over a root on the ground. Legend. I don’t know how you climbers do it, man! That made me tense up on my couch. 😂

So nice that your family gets to travel with you, and that we finally got to "meet" them.
If you ever head to Northern Colorado/Southern Wyoming, let me know. So fewer trees here and much smaller, except for cottonwoods in cities/towns. Stove-burners, mostly.
It's nice to see the men explaining the technical aspect of the job," which is critical alaround for the saftey aspect for all involved," an property as well
3 pillars in the tree/saw community together getting it done... gotta love it
Hey cool you have a TH-cam channel!
@@GuiltyofTreeson yessir... i figure since i was an instant instagram celebrity why not become a famous TH-cam star lol... gonna give it a whirl at least... congrats on the new adventure... i think the best you have to offer is what you are currently working on and your future projects... this video was amazing and i wish i could have been there... nice work all
@@johnscustomsaws Just subscribed (can I say "first" like they do for comments? lol). Let's get this party started! \😃/
@@D_Zanzer lol... hey i would claim that title... first subscriber thats awesome!!! thanks my friend... too bad i have zero content for you hahaha
Whatever. Cya!
You guys are the best hopefully one day you guys get your own tree service company
That's sounds like a good idea but business has a way of killing a friendship. The amount of capital involved in a crane based tree company is enough to change everything about you that's good. If you can juggle both with a positive attitude your a special person.
They work for Eastside Tree Works in Fall City, Washington
@@tannertrevino2305 Not Anymore. Go watch his first video on this channel..
You two were a great team on those types of jobs. Jed's personally was legendary.
Awesome. I’m a partner in a tree and landscape company in southeastern n.y. Not too many big ones like that around here anymore. Pleasure to watch.
Couldn’t ask for more!! Thanks Jake!
Saturday morning, cup of coffee and an hour of You, Jedd and Gordy
This is the kind of work that gives me chills just watching the video! Great job for professional climbers! Thanks.

Thanks for the kind comment and well said I’m regards to loggers be arborists! :) both have unique skills for sure
I enjoy seeing Jed in your videos. The old school vs new school ways are a nice blend.
Nice story telling style and it's good to see the fellowship of men when they come together to solve a huge problem. ☺
I’ve had a 40’ head start in a tree when Jed has just plowed past me like I’m standing still. It was fun to watch him give you a run for your money and did it just for fun.
Yeah Kevin Jed’s the man!
Love your video's. I'm still a new subscriber however I think this one is my favourite for sure out 9f the 15 if watched. Loved it, we watched it on the big screen because suddenly the whole family has grown to love you Jake
Thank you 🙏
I'm glad I've found your new channel Jake and I'm totally bummed out the old one went the way it did for you but I'll be sharing your video's around for ya! What I love about yourself and Jed is the genuine passion you have for your job. I've been looking for something like that my whole life in a job. But they always end up being soul crushing so good on you legend's for living your best life!
Old channel? What was that?
Same name guilty of treeson, but it's been stolen from his old work so I don't watch it anymore as I dont want to support them dog's!
I like all the videos, but I sure do miss Jed. He had a wealth of knowledge, and your bond/friendship around the work was great.
I would love to hop the boarder and climb with you guys. So much fun energy, makes the job less stressful!
Man, just listening to Jacob and Jed banter while they're both up in the tree is wonderful.
What a great job by all involved. Jed is the man. Gordy has killer forearms. 10/10
Thanks!
Vegan 💧 water.
It’s great to see the calmness and chat in these videos, they dont need to be to “professional “i like the easy tone of these videos
Good job guys. Nice to have some good help. Y'all take care and have a blessed weekend and I'll see you on your next vidja.
Thanks!
19:25 Jed is 120’ in a tree and both spurs slip, and the man just carries on the conversation like he stumbled over a root on the ground. Legend. I don’t know how you climbers do it, man! That made me tense up on my couch. 😂
WOW !! I'm impressed with your professionalism. Safety first is what I sensed throughout this video. My hat's off to you ALL !!
