I swear that van is magic. Drove from Paris to Wales, Wales to Mesa City, Mesa City to Haiti, Haiti to China, and China to Russia.
Nathaniel DarDar yeah and only recently after playing the games again I noticed how half the levels in the series don't have a path or road for the van to go across, so it is either a boat an aeroplane or a time machine (although if anyone says in sly 4 it turns into a time machine the just keep in mind that I know that).
He's going places. Don't know how but he's gettin there.

NintendoBrother how have I or nobody else thought of this sooner this is a great idea. Make it a Netflix orginal and get the old voice cast back. It could be a reimagining of one of the games or be a completely new story, the possibilities are endless. The movie keeps getting delayed it's probably gonna die in production so why not go make a show? There's still a strong fanbase going craving for more after the 4th game's cliff hanger. If whoever is in charge doesn't explore the idea of making a Sly Cooper animated tv show I'll be very disappointed because it would be an amazing and totally do able idea.
g maybe the series could be called Sly Cooper: Global Thievery. Each episode could have the gang going to a different part of the world to pull a heist, but end up caught in some crazy shenanigans. I wish there was a way to send this idea to the makers of SC and the guys who run Netflix

Can we all appreciate how good of a narrator Kevin Miller is? He has an awesome voice and I cannot see anyone else playing Sly Cooper other than him. Surprised he isn't in many other media

Sir Raleigh in the first game is much different than the other villains. He didn't suffer a tragic event in his childhood that made him evil, instead he decided to be a pirate simply because he was just bored of being living in a pampered life. He even had the highest murder count at least over *1,000!*

The Contessa isn't sympathetic at all. Go figure she gets an early release and becomes a real-estate mogul.
It's even implied after she gets an early release she continues to brainwash and control people. I kind of wish Sly 4 had brought her back as a vtwist villain instead of Penelope

I think he has a bit of mercy for anyone he fights. Imagine how many bones broken, bruises caused, blood vessels smashed, from a single punch thrown by Muggshot

I think it was just so he could walk on his hands, lol.
But it seems to have had a nifty effect on him; Even Sly's cane nor Murray's punches can't hurt him, takes things like multiple shots from Carmelita's shock pistol, multiple blows from a plane engine or... a little bit of sunlight; to hurt him.
The force of a punch comes from the lower body and core as much as the upper body and he’s never had a leg day in his life

I loved how all the villains tied together in the end into one big conspiracy in Sly 2.

Sly 4 seemed like Sly 2 with Bentley back in his second gear but with the wheel chair and the villain group like a Sinister six

You know the effort and backstory they gave to these villains was a big motivation for me to try these games.

All I've ever wanted was one true clash with clockwerk, instead I got sly stuck in ancient Egypt with no sly 5 to ever be made.
Motterman1 nah sly 5 is supposed to be made but they jus haven't released a lot of info on it
PrecisionTrack6 Sanzaru said that they do not have any plans on making Sly 5, but they won't sell the rights to Sly Cooper back to Sucker Punch.
So, it looks like, at least at the moment, we're stuck with a cliffhanger.

Z.D.F Sanzaru don't actually own the rights to Sly. Sucker Punch and Sony just lent them the rights so that they could make Sly 4 but the rights got transferred back once they got taken off the game due to poor sales which I blame Sony's terrible marketing for. If I'm not mistaken Thieves in time was originally planned as the start of a new trilogy but that plan fell through due to the aforementioned poor marketing and sales of Sly 4. Sony also severely cut the game's budget which is why the final boss fight was a QTE. So I imagine with how poorly Sanzaru were seemingly treated they wouldn't wanna make another Sly even if they could. Anyways the rights are back with Sucker Punch and Sony since they aren't stupid enough to just freely hand one of their most iconic franchises off to a third party studio. They won't do anything with those rights for now though since Sucker Punch is developing other projects these days. Who knows, maybe some day they'll feel a bit of nostalgia and want to revisit their master thief.
-LonelyIntrovert - That and Clockwerk doesn't really lend himself to a proper bare knuckles brawl type situation like General Tsao, Panda King, or even Dimitri do. He's just too big to be anything other than a setpiece. Sly 1 and Sly 2 honestly gave us the best multi staged boss fights you can get out of a giant metal bird like Clockwerk. In all honesty I wouldn't mind it if Sly were to be rebooted and if they were to make the giant Clockwerk that we're familiar with into a mech suit for more an anthropomorphic and human sized Clockwerk that can actually challenge Sly in hand to hand combat. I think there's actually potential for him to be even scarier that way since then it makes the threat more personal and immediate. Like a dude revving his monster truck towards you might be intimidating but when you see a 6 foot tall dude that's absolutely shredded hop out and come at you to try and hurt you I feel like that's scarier.
Panda King and Dimitri were the only vilians we fought who became apart of the Cooper Gang.

Their boss fights also had you needing to go into cover too lol

Dimitri is not only my favorite reformed villain but also my favorite character overall. He's hilarious.

One that haunted me as a kid was in Sly 1. Clockworks intro,seeing the pictures of the ancestors (still don't know how the fuck they got pictures of Slytutenkamen or Rioichi) knowing that he was there stalking and may have possibly killed all coopers for thousands of years was terrifying.
Yup, me too! Even the intro music shift from quirky and fun to eery and foreboding really intimidated me as a kid! Not to mention getting to Clockwerk and the boss fight itself drove me to angry tears more than once!
There's an Easter egg in sly 4 where you can see clockwork.

What I wouldn't give for a Sly 5 in the near future.
I had this idea of two different arcing stories.
One being the Cooper Gang (Minus Sly) and Carmalita working together to take down Penelope (as well as other returning villains) while hunting for clues to find out where and when Sly ended up.
The other being Sly after months of travel from Egypt to the United States where he surprisingly ran into his Dad of all people, and the two work together to take down new baddies as Sly tries to figure out what to do that would grab Bentley's attention without drastically altering history (Despite how badly Sly wanted to warn his dad about Clockwerk and Dr. M).
Though this was just my idea. I'm not sure who would even take over the Sly series at this point, yet it's one series that has always worked well and shouldn't be forgotten.
What do you think should be the plot of Sly 5?

The idea you have for it sounds like fun. I'd love to see that happening. I think there should be a mix of villains (few returning and maybe throw a few new ones)and maybe the characters could have some different outfits for each chapter (nothing too revealing of course).
This would be one of best one yet
Maybe at the beginning of the game there's a heist and when you get to the diamond it's not there and by the end of the game it turns out it was sly's brother and penopohilpe was helping him

Muggshot just wanted to not be bullied, and a life as a gangster was his way of ensuring he wouldnt be harmed (be the biggest, and noone will mess with you)
jean bison is just an old fashioned dude just doing what he knows best
the characters are easy to sympathize with (unlike sly 4 villains which just sucked)

all they way up to the 3rd Game I LOVED the intros of each episode, i nice touch of artistic flare with dramatic writing. the 4th game's episode intros........lets just say they were lackluster.
I didn't like the design change for the fourth game, chuck it up to nostalgia, but it just wasn't on the level of the original 3.

These were always the best parts of the Sly Cooper series.
as each level began like an episode to a cartoon, and gave insight at the bad guys.
So, by the time gameplay started, you knew who you were dealing with.
Sly 2 is the best, and the intros, cutscenes and endings for both sly 2 and 1 are better than the rest

However, I can't give my opinion on 3 and 4 having not played them. Are they just as good as the first two?
VokunKendovJosh 3 depends as some find it better and others worse but not by much. 4 is undoubtedly worse than 2 and 3 due to a bad story, although the gameplay despite having much too big levels for what can collect it's fine.

I was around the age of five when I played Sly 2 and ooh boy, EVERY villain in the game TERRIFIED me, especially Dimitri for some reason. I couldn't fight the boss until I made my brother come in the room, they still kind of scare me haha.

Airista Harns Only one that I was rather nervous about was Contessa back when I was a wee lad. Never managed to finish the game because of her.
And I can also agree that it was rather nerve-wracking dealing with the tiger, especially in the mission where you had to pickpocket him when he was drugged as Bentley.
However, dear old Dmitri never really stood as a frightening fogure for me. Must be because he looked like a fun guy to party with.

I never got scared by any villain other than Dimitri. I had a dream once where I was downstairs on my own and Dimitri came down the stairs and I was so scared afterwards. But he isn't even that scary looking or acting so I'm not sure why he freaks me out.

When I was young I always hated the 4th chapter of Sly 2, the Contessa’s prison, it just always freaked me out especially since you had to play as Bentley for a bunch of it and Bentley sucked lol

Did anyone ever notice how some of these villains became criminals because the world more or less made them, along with how some of them were very similar to other ones in later games i.e. Dimitri and Grizz, Rajan and Panda King, La Paradox and Dr. M.

[TLG] Grovyle Media™ improve Sly 4’s load times, remove the glitches the Sly Collection on PS3 accidentally added, and I’d accept it with open arms. If the TV series that replaced the movie is successful, we may just see that.

Sorry but unless they make the 4th games final boss fight more than just a timing game, than I think 4 should stay forgotten, besides big red button (sonic boom creators) made it, and lost rights to it after it did far below the other 3, sucker punch would more likely remaster the original 3 and forget about number 4.

I know I'm not the only one who caught onto what really happened to the Contessa’s husband’s “suspicious” death knowing what female spiders do to their male mates.
It gets even worse than that: during her boss fight, you see the eggs spawning around her with the little spiders coming out and rushing you...
Yeah... she's throwing her babies at you as cannon fodder. That's some real fridge horror for a supposedly G-rated game.

@@dianaharris7506 I think she's one of the few villains in the series who are genuine psychopaths, along with Raleigh (he probably has a death toll in the hundreds, all because... he was bored?), Neyla (betrayed literally everyone she made eye contact with and is completely driven by lust for power/immortality) and General Tsao (again, he's entirely driven by a desire for power and we don't get any kind of tragic backstory for him).
Although that also makes the Contessa one of my favorite villains in the series. She's a real threat to the gang: after you first deal with Dimitri (who likely doesn't know what he got himself into) and Rajan (who's become addicted to his own drugs and completely melts down once you wreck his operation), this is the part where shit gets real.
That, and pretty much everything about her character design, minions and both of her worlds perfectly complements the "complete horrorshow" vibe of this part of the story. The only better villains in the series I can think of would be Neyla, Tsao and maybe Dr. M.

I would actually watch this if it was a tv show. Th story is pretty good and I like how each boss has a title card to introduce the story like Batman the animated series. Maybe Netflix could make this a reality.

This would explain how Clockwerk got the robotic parts he needed during that specific era of time . . . .
supersonicmario56 It's implied Clockwerk didn't immediately become mechanical and that it was a slow process over the course of a couple centuries before he became fully robotic. He also doesn't seem to be your average Owl seeing as to how he was legitimately gigantic even in his organic body compared to everyone else and has a very long life span as well as extreme durability to even allow that transition into a mechanical being to happen as a slow and steady process. I'm assuming if we were to get Sly 5 and if Clockwerk were to be introduced we'd see him change slowly into the form that we recognize from Sly 1 as we worked our way back into the present day.

Out of all the bosses, my favorite has to be the Panda King. I mean, he’s a cool boss in general, and he even redeems himself in later games!
Now I only grew up with the original Sly Cooper, but i'm getting Sly Cooper 2, and I can't wait to play it!!! :D
