While it might not have been the most graceful of designs, i loved how the boss health meter's face would change as the boss took damage, starting confident and smug before becoming increasingly injured or worried as it dropped lower and lower.
Clockwerk was always one of my favorite villains, top 10 for sure. I know some will disagree, but I just love Clockwerk for the idea that he's fuelled solely by hatred. Yeah, his fight isn't as difficult as I remember, but he's one of the few villains I remember to have this kind of style. No happiness, no sadness, no pity, no guilt, just hate. Not to mention that when I was little kid, be freaked me out a little. Sure he's not focused on much here or in the sequels, but I'll always have a spot for him in my top 10 video games villains lists for that.
Yeah, I think it's a shame that he had no influence in 3 or 4. Like he's this overwhelming shadow over the whole family, if something to do with him would have happened in 3 (like maybe Dr. M using his tech) and he made appearances in 4 (cause you know, TIME TRAVEl! He would have been around!) It would have given his final statement much more weight.

Like how Thanos returned in Avengers Endgame.
@@zay2k539 I agree, and I am thinking more from a story perspective than a game perspective, but I feel said ending would have been far more satisfying at the end of the series than halfway though. Like, he is portrayed as a timeless menace to the Cooper family that just keeps coming back no matter how many times they beat him. So the fact that he basically goes down the first time you fight him really weakens that effect. But his final line of 'you will never be rid of me' would have had such a great effect if his influence was spread throughout every game. Like the fourth game even had the right idea, with a clockwerk cameo in every level, it was just poor execution.
Such an amazing game. I feel like I still remember Mz Ruby's dialogue by heart after all this time, such a fun boss. And using the slow and speed up time powers to make the Panda King fight more cinematic, dodging those fireballs, so good. And Clockwork - so epic.
I'm revisiting all of these boss battles, and I just realized something. Something I TOTALLY overlooked when I played this game with my brother in the past. Out of all the members in the Fiendish Five, Panda King is the only one who doesn't mention the next member's name or location. He doesn't say anything about Clockwerk, or Clockwerk's volcanic lair in Russia. Either this is because Panda King was extremely loyal to Clockwerk... or he was afraid of him, and afraid of what Clockwerk would do to him if he ratted him out to Sly.
i find that, if we put things into realistic perspective, Mugshot and Clockwork could both very easily stop sly without even trying. Mugshot only lost due to some rather weird weakness to large amounts of reflected light, since sly couldn't even come close to physically harming him, and Clockwork would easily win due to his armor being harder then anything sly could have tossed his way, if Carmalita wasn't willing to cooperate at the time in order to make openings for sly or provide a jetpack that would allow sly to fight on even grounds with the mechanical menace
That’s one of the reasons why Sly is so awesome. Even if he is physically outmatched, and though he’s portrayed as not very smart, he is a fantastic improviser.

I like how in reality, Mugshot COULD'VE just handed it over, as he didn't seem like such an ass until we broke and stole his stuff.
Muggshot was the aggressor first, by breaking into Sly's home, stealing a piece of the book, and helped to kill Sly's dad
“I see your mouth moving, but all I hear is blah blah blah”
That was a good line
I love this game, it's perfect hahah, slys voice actor is perfect
2024 and I need a brand new Sly Cooper game.
Ok but honestly Mz Ruby has a really fun boss battle
Looking back at it now make me feel old but I miss these times more than anything nowadays times where life was a lot more simple💯🙏🏾
All songs:
1. Eye of the storm
2.last call
3. A deadly dance
4.flame fu!
5. A strange reunion
"AHHHH! My BEAUtiful gun is destroyed. Good thing I got a spare upstairs"
0:00 Raleigh boss 1
2:19 Muggshot boss 2
5:38 Mz ruby boss 3
10:52 Panda King boss 4
13:25 Clockwerk final boss
17:41 Ending
Best Sly game. IMO the most creative bosses too.
Sly’s cane can destroy Clockwerk’s armor, but it can’t do shit to Mugshot.
Mugshot’s Muscles > Clockwerk’s Armor
Ah yes, Sly Cooper and the Thingus Raccamagoocus.
