THANK YOU! I've been selling casually on ebay for years (and more seriously over the past 12 months) and I guess I've never needed to process a refund because I absolutely COULD NOT FIND IT! THANK YOU!
If in the UK, to issue a partial refund, you need to go to REPORT A PROBLEM on the "send a refund" page. It then gives you an option to make a deduction from the refund and say why in the comments box. For example if the you offered free post and the return was the buyer's fault you could deduct the original postage costs from the refund or a repackaging charge etc.

While the app doesn’t allow a partial refund option, you can use your internet browser on your smart phone, go to eBay.com, scroll to the bottom of that page and select “classic site” and navigate to the partial refund as you describe in the video without using your pc. Hope this helps someone who doesn’t have a pc or needs a partial refund solution when they are out and about. - Flippin Aint Easy
Mate if I bought something that was faulty opened a return for redundant it back then agreed for replacement but when that came it was the same but without the right plug so when I said to him and he said he would give a partial refund so I agreed then he says I have to close the case first before he can give a refund is that true I worried that if I close it and he don't give the partial refund I can't do nothing

A buyer paid me and i refunded and had 112$ available it took his money and not only took the 112 from a complety diffrent order but left me with a -62$ on my available funds tab idk waht to do
