Conscription is voted democratically in western country. It's matter of their population wish. Ironically it's more central and eastern country (like sweden, swiss, finland, estonia, poland) who eager for conscription, conpare to say germany and Spain. yeh.. we don't have much oil here. Only jade ,ruby and gold, most of which are already taken by china. And the military gov has a great relation with chinese gov. With all those inflations and lack of safety, most of burmese young people doesn't have much choice. Some who have enough money to flee, had already fled. The ones who were left are mostly the ones who can't afford the cost to flee. I'm not sure who's gonna win this fight but surely, the sacrifice would be a great cost.
