This is like seeing your two favorite movie stars do a movie together... well done! The concept of the punch and the short cut really hit home (winky face), but I don't think it's really about it being easy. Most musicians or singers spend years building up to that punch. When it doesn't land, you start to fear you will lose the fight. It's very scary when you're an artist and you've put all of your eggs into this basket. Until you get one of your punches to land and there's finally a big hole in the wall, you don't know if you'll ever get in. You see other artists land a punch with blogs, others with Spotify editors, others with connected managers, and so on, you find yourself thinking, "What do I have to do to get in?" Artists aren't lazy or delusional (at least most aren't). They're often desperate. They're looking for the key. "Maybe it's Tik Tok." If artists regularly saw other artists make it big without some kind of big punch, just slow and steady, artists would make that their goal. But that's not what they see. There's almost always a big break somewhere. At least it seems like it.

Adam is cool and knowledgeable but I feel like he talks too much around the boat. Who cares if that analogy exists. You know he is kind of a fluffy mouth and most of his valuable information can be contained in 2-5mins per video but appears to be 10-20 minutes of good information.

I asked Adam Ivy if he could show me some people that have benefited from his course as I was interested in learning more as a fan and he called me lazy and said he wasn't going to hold my hand. I told him he was rude and he said he didn't owe me 'Jack shit' and that I clearly haven't watched his videos. The dude is rude and doesn't value his supporters...
Try insta dming him asking to see what artists took his course and see how quickly this guy switches on you.
He also said he was too busy to listen to my song and then proceeded to write paragraphs explaining why I'm lazy for 20 minutes (remember that this guy has never met me and doesn't know me or my work ethic, or that I have 55,000 tiktok followers that I'm growing) and in that time he could've literally listened to my track. If you want to hear him shout obvious 'motivational' stuff, keep watching his videos but I personally stick to Burstimo as they interview SUCCESSFUL people, they value their consumers and they don't have expectations of how everyone should be. They're down to earth and would never treat a fan the way Adam would. So yeah I'm now loyal to them

The stuff Damien said about being a rebellion and having almost something like a believe system in place which needs to be challenged nudged me in the right direction. As of yet I always thought it SHOULD be all about the music and even though I knew what everyone and especially you guys are preaching, sometimes its hard to make the switch.. Thanks for hammering this into my head. Now I/we just need to figure some content. Love you guys and your videos! Keep on pushing but for now: happy holidays ;)

STOP SELLING MUSIC! 🛑! This was not only a huge turning point for Damian , but also for many of us. I now make more money from sponsorships than I ever did from streams. So far it’s not liking I’m making loads of money , but a slight change in my approach to making an income actually worked! Guys & Girls , opportunity is out there, we just need to learn to adapt strategy and make the most of the modern era! The gate keepers are gone , balls in our court!!

This phrase from Maddy at 19:33... "How can they add value, because they see the music as the value". I've been chatting a bit to Damo about Conversion Rate Optimisation (wake up at the back!), and there is a phrase, "Perceived Value", which is different from the inherent value of whatever you're presenting (in this case, the music). If the audience doesn't perceive the value, they won't take the next step (ie. they won't listen).

The harsh reality is, Most artist have musical "fomo" alongside a selfish malcontent imposition. I know in my years of growing and growing.... To find TRUE REAL fans, one must literally be a continuous and highly eclectic well spring of VIBE. It's truly terrifying. I lost a huge amount of fans when I released an acoustic album. Yeah, it hurt. But truly, the ones who listened... THEY LISTENED LONGER. REGULARLY. And That in turn had such an adverse affect on me as an entrepreneur, developer, analyst, marketer, advertiser, producer, engineer, and artist. I seen it as, wow... I pour my heart into an intimate collective storyboard form, that plays from 00:00:00 to ending as a book reads. And I watched my monthly listeners plummet. I watched my subscribers on various platforms leave.
I then would like to say, JUST LAST NIGHT, my 6 year old son was in the studio with me, I was playing my taylor acoustic, Him and I absolutely love the high end sparkle taylor guitars provide. Such a useful tool when it comes to vibe creation.... But I wasn't playing intimately as I had with the last album. He said "Daddy, You need a 6 song EP out with his stuff but also with lyrics."
    I FROZE.
His statement connected lines in my mind that I hadn't afforded the true value deserved. Yeah, the LISTENERS who left me, were not my fans. They were just a test audience. Since the total desolation of my overall stats, ONE SINGLE ANALYTIC... AND A SIX YEAR OLD BOY.... Showed me, RETENTION. I do music to achieve a task that, to me, means dire straights if left undone... Bob Dylan, John Lennon, CeeLo Green, Notorious BIG, Tracy Chapman, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robert Plant, etc... They wrote their inner-most darkest, alongside their most joyous EXPERIENCES and their cognitive representation in that of which would be absorbed via melody, lyricism, analogy, I could go on... But truly, my main point is.... @burstimo PLEASE stop the focal scope always returning to label driven initiatives. The gracious helping hand a label can provide has become such a stagnating darkness in so many people... While on tour I have come across THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of Men, Women, Teens, and even some kids, Who share the stage with me, and when I compliment the strengths I notice as apparent for said person, and this is gonna be sad to even type... THEY ARE RUDE AND IMPLY THAT MY COMPLIMENT IS OF NO VALUE. The majority... I'd go as far to say 97%.
Celebrity and Musician have become far too synaptic. THEY ARE TRULY MEANT TO BE JUNXSTAPOSE. The greatest songs of all time... The ones that provided a net of comfort for the masses during times such as our world is experiencing lately, They weren't fetish-focused for melodic repeatability, but more repeatability through the intent to understand and represent in a way that is superior to the precursor. I think what you guys do at Burstimo is beautiful, but I beg of you guys, Please, use your influence to help show hopeful celebrities, that music, is music. To make money, is to be a business. I have had 45 year old men, who do 3 songs, and 3 songs only, all focused on screaming into a microphone as if they've never held one, jumping into a crowd of the same 15 people they take to every event, look me in the face and say "Yeah, you better get more serious." Meanwhile, they dont know about SEO, Targeted Ads, Demographics, Analytics, Magnetic marketing, tour routing, licensing, copyrighting, publishing, branding, merchandise, distribution, engineering, etc..
They also don't portray knowledge of how to use audio equipment, They don't know what an XLR is, what a 1/4in. is.... They DONT EVEN FATHOM THE IDEA OF EVEN CARING WHAT DIFFERENT TYPES OF MICROPHONES DO WHAT MOST EFFICIENTLY.
A lot of local populace who know me, they assume I have a team... I only ever had 1 partner, The guy ended up being just like that older fellow I previously described... So, heartbreaking as it was, I had to let him go. Truly, I see why the most entrancing songs to me are sad... That's the only true music, SAD. Ironically I see it as an acronym, for "SERIOUSLY AGGRESSIVE DISTRESS" And I find most who claim to such high expected regard in their "craft" are actually just pieces of shit trying to do a musical chairs style ponzi scheme.
I apologize for such a long comment, I just find this issue appearing MORE AND MORE, and I only live for music. To quote a few ACTUAL students of the CRAFT, "I remember when, I remember. I remember, When I lost my mind..." and "Easy for you to say, your heart has never been broken..." If you read this far, Thank you. I love music, and love you all. But we can't keep being sensitive to others FEELINGS as often, we have become complacent. Allowing the imposition of negatively affecting another's path to fulfillment to mask our ability to call out those who are filling OUR MUSIC platforms with digital farts and poorly thought out pretenses. I love all genres.... OF MUSIC! EDM, Rap, Folk, Rock, Blues, Metal, Alternative, That are all powerful souls utilizing tools of frequential evolution to share information vital to the writer, and in their efforts, proving vital to life. I guess what I am trying to say is, if anybody gets what I mean, PLEASE GET AHOLD OF ME. We could make music. The kind that inspired you to be on this specific video.... HOPEFULLY.
