I've discovered an absent neighbors persimmon trees that are laden with almost ripe persimmons. The trees are huge and there have to be at least 100 lbs of fruit, so plenty for me and all the animals that are eyeing them. Not to let them go unharvested and just go to the many animals that will love them, I'll take some for myself and try this recipe. I love bread pudding and I'm very excited to try this, I'm glad you showed an easier way to get the pulp to use in recipes. Thank you for the post.

Will definitely try your Creme Anglaise Recipe. I'm not a chef but I sure love to cook. I think I should have made it my calling.

NEW VIDEO! Fall is here! That means comfort food. Here is a recipe for persimmon bread pudding that can be made with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen (except the persimmons). Feel free to adapt it with other fruits or ingredients you have on hand, such as dried apricots or chocolate! th-cam.com/video/IEyLjP2Mv6w/w-d-xo.html

I never seen persimmons that soft before.

meeshellexx they are Hatchiya persimmons! They must be ‘mushy’ to be ripe- unlike Fuyu persimmons, which are firm.

Hey Chef, we grew up eating bread pudd`n and rice pudd`n. Wish we could grow persimmons. Too cold I think. Maybe could grow them in big pots like fig trees and bring them in in winter. Thumbs up!

I would compare it to a mango, but the texture is a bit more slick.

I'm just going to stick with my Persimmon Pudding which has both baking soda and baking powder. No bread, no brown sugar, no raisins and no walnuts.

    PERSIMMON PUDDING
    -
    1/2 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs; mix well.
    -
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in 1/4 c. hot water
    2 c. persimmon pulp
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp salt
Add the 5 above ingredients, mixing well.
    -
    2 1/2 c. flour
    Add flour, mixing well.
    -
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 1/2 c half and half
Stir well into persimmon mixture. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350 degrees in 10 x 15 inch pan.

I like to eat it warm topped with melted butter. It's also delicious with whipping cream. But I will check out your Creme Anglaise recipe.
